Chapter 29: Truths
Hidden City of Sanerek Nim - Adagio’s P.O.V. - Two Weeks Later
The manor in which I had chosen was wonderfully crafted. One of the Dwarfs that ended up coming to live in our hidden city had explained that those that lived here, far earlier, had in fact carved every single dwelling from the existing stone. Each room, each block, every single detail was actually part of a single stone. The only things that weren’t were the fixtures, the furniture, and of course the doors themselves. Of course I was currently converting one of the rooms into a nursery. A visit to Umbra had proven what I already knew. I was with foal.
Sonata and Aria had decided to beg and plead with me until I named one of them a godmother, which it was unlikely they would ever truly have to raise my foal. After all, I am merely one of my husband’s wives, and each of us are immortal. Still, I decided to split the honor between them, and from that point on I watched them attempt to outdo the other in designing a nursery in their respective houses that would easily out match the other. I felt the prickle of magic, and I knew the portal was opening. I turned and I watched as Rainbow Dash came through.
Our husband wasn’t with her, and I knew what this was about. She had asked me to keep this between the two of us, and only inform Luna if she asked. I agreed, but only because I know that she has already told our husband, or at least she swore that she had. She stood nervously at the edge of the room, and I walked toward her.
“Rainbow, please come in,” I said, “After all, my home is your home.”
She rubbed her shoulder, “It’s not lasting as long,” she said, “I felt it again, and please can you?”
I nodded, “I need you to relax,” I said, “and listen to just my voice, only my voice.”
She began to relax, and I watched her. Once she looked as though she was no longer focused on anything other than my voice I began to softly sing.
♫Oooo smile, things are gonna get easier,
Oooo smile, the day’s gonna get brighter,
Oooo smile, the nightmare’s getting lighter,
Oooo Smile, the love is getting deeper,
Oooo Smile, the darkness is gettin’ lighter.♫
She let out a soft sigh, and I watched as she finished relaxing. My ability as a siren is truly powerful. I can enthrall thousands to adore me, to become angry, and I can bring peace to a troubled mind, but the problem is that her troubled mind is magical. I am truly powerful, but I am not as powerful as any of our creators. They tower over all of us, and I felt this magic. It is resting inside of her, trying to spread, and my magic has kept it at bay, but with it lasting less and less time I have no doubt that eventually it will spread even with my singing.
Luna needs to be the one to see to this, since her magic is more finely tuned toward casting magic like this out, but more specifically Lord Sombra the Magnificent needs to take back the corruption magic he cast on her. The moment she is at peace I Gently pick her up, move her to the bed, and then I laid her in it. There was truly something off about this. I could feel that things did not add up as they should. While I am justly proud of my magic, and while I know that I truly am powerful in my own right, it simply made no sense for Rainbow to suffer as she has been doing.
She had said that she had spoken to Lord Mannulus, and thus would not be breaking a promise. Instead I would be discussing the treatment she is going through, and how my magic is only giving her a day and half, at most, of peace before the corruption inside of her begins to break through the magic my singing is casting on her. I closed my eyes, pictured Lord Mannulus, focused on his wonderful magic, and I found him. Thankfully the ring he had given me allowed me to see through his eye, and I could sense where he was.
It also allowed me to speak telepathically with him far easier than before. I waited until I felt the link between us completely join, and then I let out a sigh of relief. I could see through his magical eye. The fact that Twilight and Solar Flare were both with him meant that something was happening. I could see ahead and I saw a royal, and I realized that he was in a meeting. I almost disconnected the link before I felt his tender thoughts in my mind.
“Something wrong Adagio?” he asked, and I realized that even in his thoughts his words were as smooth and rich as the most wonderful honey butter.
“My husband, I have contacted you about Rainbow Dash’s condition. She said that she has spoken to you about it, and I wanted to inform you that my magic is only containing the corruption magic inside of her mind for a mere day and a half at this point. While I am pleased to no end that you chose me to keep her mind safe, I had to question as to why you didn’t choose Luna.”
“Only a Day and a half, is that correct?” he asked, “Are you certain?”
“Yes, it is merely a day and a half,” I said, “While I have no problem singing to her, at this rate within a week I will no longer be able to contain the corruption from moving further in her mind.”
“I see, this requires attention then. Tell me, is Rainbow there?” he asked, “Or if not do you know where she is?”
I smiled, “She is here,” I purred, “As am I, and I have nearly completed the nursery. I would love to show it to you, and perhaps receive some of your attention as well.”
I heard a chuckle from him, “I will be there, as soon as I can, but I am sending Luna. I want you to inform her of everything that is happening.”
“Of course, I am sorry that I am not present for the meeting, I would have been glad to help sway the attitudes of the visiting royals toward your will,” I said, “Perhaps next time I should be present?”
There was his delightful chuckle again, “Perhaps, but we have a well developed relationship with the Kingdom of Coronam,” he said, “however, there may be dignitaries that visit later that I could use your skills on. When that happens I will have you stand by my side, and should it prove necessary I will have you enthrall them for me.”
I smiled, hoping that he could feel it through our link, “Of course my love,” I said, “I will wait for Luna, please, when you can wrap up do so. I do miss you.”
With that our link ended. I began to wonder how long I would wait until I felt the prickling of the portal again. Almost at once I saw Luna. She walked with purpose, and she looked at me. She was always graceful, but there was a look upon her face that was incredibly unsettling. She neared me, and I was thankful that there was nothing that I had done wrong.
“Tell me, what has been happening?”
I explained everything. How Rainbow began to see me two weeks ago, and explained that our husband had informed her that he wanted me to help her with the nightmares she was having. I had used my magic, and I found a piece of corruption inside of her mind. I informed her, but then I explained that she had said Lord Mannulus already knew. He felt that she was simply to busy, and that he had faith in my skills. I explained that the first time I did this for her it lasted three days, and then it lasted three days again, but then it went to two days, and it had seemed to stay there until she came and informed me that it was now barely a day and a half.
She walked toward the bed, and I watched as her horn glowed. For a moment there was nothing, and then Rainbow’s form sat straight up. She wasn’t awake, I would swear to Lord Mannulus himself that she wasn’t awake but regardless there was a laughter that belonged to the deepest pits of Tartarus coming from her.
“Ah, Mannulus’ dream slut has found me,” it said, “His little singing slut was losing power over me. I was going to enjoy taking her mind as well.”
“Be gone, foul thing!” Luna shouted, “Thou hast no authority here!”
It laughed, “No Authority?” it asked.
I watched as Rainbow’s eyes opened, but they weren’t simply the magenta eyes I had come to admire. They were similar to that of a serpent’s eyes. In truth they reminded me of Solar Flare’s eyes. Only they were far more cold, more distant, and far less loving.
“You do remember me, don’t you Luna?” it asked, “When you had that spat with your sister? When I talked to you, after fighting King Sombra, you remember when I whispered sweet things into your mind, until your defenses fell, and then I raped your mind into submission?” it asked, “You do remember that I made you my little bitch, right?”
Rainbow’s hands went up to her top, and I watched as she ripped her armor open. Her breasts were larger, not huge, but certainly larger than they had been. She grasped them both, “And oh, this one shows such promise. She’s loyal to that hack, but I’ve been trying to break her. And now, I get to break you too!”
I watched as Luna’s magic flared, the entire room bathed itself in midnight blue light, and Rainbow’s hands were suddenly at her side. I could hear her snarl, see the anger on her face, and that thing, whatever it was, seemed determined to be let loose. I could see Luna struggling and I looked at this thing not as Rainbow, but as a dark beast that was currently rutting a sister wife against her will and attempting to do the same to another. My mouth turned down into a snarl as I stood. I looked at it, and I stepped forward.
♫Oh Woah Oh, Oh woah Oh
Did you know you’ll fail?
Oh Woah Oh, Oh Woah Oh,
Now you’re falling under my spell,
You’ve become blind sided by the beat…
I didn’t finish the lyric before I felt a surge of power and something lifted me and threw me against the wall. Whatever it was had my throat, and it was squeezing it, trying to kill my voice, wanting to remove my power, and I realized that Luna couldn’t help me. She was contending with three of them. It looked like Rainbow, but somehow it had become enraged enough that I was helping. I felt a hand at the top of my dress, and I felt it rip open.
“You,” it said in the dark and threatening voice, “You had to try to help her didn’t you?”
I saw the horn on its head, the darker shade of cyan that it had turned, and I felt the raw power from it. The rainbow colors of Rainbow’s head were nothing short of amazing, but now they were each a darker shade of their normal self, “I could have Luna’s body back!”
I wanted to laugh, but then I felt it move a hand down to my stomach. I tried to stop it, desperate to keep it from touching my foal. It laughed, “Yes, I know, I know you’re with foal, and so is Rainbow, but I know something else. Her foal, and yours don’t matter to me.”
I felt it squeeze tighter, and then it dropped me. I took in a choking breath before I felt her place a hoof on the back of my head and slam my face to the floor. I struggled, and finally I lay still. I looked back to see that she had grown something, a sizable cock, easily on par with our husband, and I could see that it was made completely of dark magic.
“I’m going to rut your ass, without lube, and then I’m going to take over your mind. When I’m done with you, bitch, you won’t be able to whimper without permission from me.”
I felt the tip, and I cried out as it tried to push forward, but at that moment the tingle of magic of the portal rushed through the room. I felt him enter, and I felt powerful again. It wasn’t just him. He brought our other sister wives, all of them, and the various copies of rainbow pulled back into a single being. I whimpered as he neared me, and I felt him lift me with his magic. I was placed behind him, and I felt Twilight as she wrapped me into a hug. It was one that I returned whole heartedly.
Adagio’s home - Mannulus’ P.O.V.
I had cut the meeting with the royals short, but I also insisted that they rest before their journey. Of course I had Stephanie show them to the cafeteria, and I informed her to let the royals have their pick of dishes. They seemed to accept that I had pressing matters, and they graciously accepted my departure, not as a sign of disrespect, but rather that of a ruler who still had to oversee his subjects.
I didn’t discuss what I had seen, or felt. My wives didn’t know that the link worked both ways, and they didn’t know that I could maintain the link after it apparently closed on their end. It wasn’t that I didn’t trust them, but I needed to know what I was up against before I came. I had hoped that Luna would be able to handle it herself, but since it was gaining in strength I had doubts. I knew where it came from. I understood all too well that it was from King Sombra the Magnificent, and I knew all too well that it was most likely unintentional.
He’d said that he saw every possible version of King Sombra out there, and of course every possible version of his old life as well. He saw all of it, and it made me realize that some of the ideas in the fandom that proposed how Luna became Nightmare Moon might exist. One of which was the fact that the dark magic Sombra had used when fighting her, and Celestia, had been the same dark magic granted by the stars in Fallout Equestria.
It was no different here. That dark magic had been used to violate Rainbow’s mind, and it was festering into a new Nightmare Moon. It was determined to take my brides from me, and currently it held Rainbow hostage.
“Ah, the second in line to be king of the dead, right behind Grogar,” it said, “I suppose I would curtsey, but then I’m not dead, am I?”
“Currently, no,” I said, “but that can be changed.”
It laughed, “Oh?” it asked, “You would kill your bride so easily? Kill the innocent foal growing inside of her? And for what? If you revive her you will have to split me from her soul, and what was it you said? You didn’t have the precision for that?”
I stepped forward, my eye glowing, and I was doing more than attempting to be intimidating. I wanted to see how it was latched to Rainbow. I could see the focal point, a blight, a sort of tumor growing in her soul. I touched Luna with my magic and she seemed to bolster the upgrade. For a short time, much like Sombra had attempted to do with me, she was now at superplayer levels. The nightmare was right, I didn’t have the precision to do what needed to be done, but Luna did.
I watched as her eyes turned white, she looked at the Prismatic Nightmare, perhaps Dark Rainbow, if I was a little more inclined to Star Wars, and a solid beam of light struck out of her horn. It latched onto the blight I had seen, and I watched as she pulled it loose. Rainbow fell, unconscious, and hopefully able to fully heal now, but the nightmare wasn’t just an abstract shape anymore. The magic used had transformed it into a living breathing being, another alicorn that truly was part of Rainbow. It hissed, clawed, and attempted to get loose or did until I took a small summoning stone from my pouch. It grew still.
“No!” it shouted, “I will not be your slave!”
I walked toward it holding the pure white crystal, “Dark Rainbow, Nightmare daughter of the Stars, Spawn of dark Magic, bringer of night terrors, and frightener of small foals, I claim you as mine. Your power is my power, my life is your life, you will is mine,” I said before took the crystal and placed it into my mouth.
I kissed her cheek, and when I did Luna let go of her. She fell to the ground, and the slave collar appeared on her neck. She howled in anger, raged in righteous fury, or did until I looked at her.
“Stop,” I commanded.
She stopped and stood, “I hate you,” she said, “I swear, if you ever remove this, I will kill your wives, eat your foals, slaughter your friends, and I will make you watch until I finally come for you.”
I looked at her, “And that is why you will never be free,” I said, “I will think of a suitable punishment for you later, but for now I command you to change into a maid’s uniform.”
She growled at me, doing as I commanded, and her clothes changed at first to a normal maid’s uniform, but a flash of magic from Luna turned them into something a bit more revealing. She was wearing a french maid’s uniform, the skirt was half way through her cutie mark, the top showed ample amount of cleavage, and I could feel the anger rolling off of Dark Rainbow.
“My love,” Luna said, “Technically, she is part of Rainbow, which means she can be considered a bride. Considering what she was attempting to do to myself, and Adagio, I would say it is only fair for her to suffer the same, would you agree?”
I shook my head, “I love all of you, and I love Rainbow Dash, even the darker parts of her, but she isn’t part of Rainbow. She has used her image to have a body, but she is not part of her, and she is not a bride. She is however going to learn humility, every single day, for the rest of eternity.”
Luna smiled, “how shall she start?”
I looked at Dark Rainbow, who finally had the good sense to look worried, “I will decide later, but for now, return to the Temple, inform my other brides of what you are, who you are, how you came to be, and you will obey them as you would obey me. I know them, and I know that none of them are foolish enough to even give you the slightest amount of chance to do harm to them or anyone else.
With that she disappeared, and I turned toward Adagio who was being held by Twilight. I switched places with Twilight, and I felt Adagio hold onto me. I gently stroked her back, “I’m very proud of you,” I said, “You have more than proven yourself.”
Thirty Miles outside of Flumen Subjicite - Piscantur Village - Unknown Pretender Slime P.O.V.
I’d walked straight into a war zone. There were maybe fifteen dead, and about sixty people who were stark raving mad. Each and every one of them seemed to be determined to hunt outsiders with a psychotic glee. I’d learned that I could either clean a being, completely remove poisons, in some cases curses, or I could just absorb them. The first one that attacked me was a little girl, maybe eight years old, and I surrounded her. I could hear the others laughing, but I didn’t feel her when she attempted to attack me.
Instead I closed in on her, and I began to sense what was going on. I felt it, a magical poison that created raiders. I remembered that now, it had been a mod in Ragnarok. The ability to create a special kind of wheat that when ate turned NPCs, and player avatars, into raiders. I found the poison, all of it, and I began sucking it out of her. She squirmed, and after a moment I left her on the ground. I moved toward the next one, did the same, but I noticed that the others were closing in on those that I was helping. I had a choice to make. From what I could tell, they couldn’t hurt me, but they could hurt each other. There was no way that I was going to be able to cure them all and have all them alive.
I didn’t like the idea of absorbing people, but then they weren’t exactly people either. All of them were acting like wild animals. So, I moved, quickly, taking them in absorbing the poison, spitting them out, and when one began to attack I latched onto them, made the decision if they could be healed in a few seconds, or if it would take longer. If it would take longer they got completely absorbed. I hated it, but it was simply what needed to be done. When I was finished there were forty-five people left.
I stood in my now completely human form, and I studied those before me. I didn’t look as though I belonged to a manga about monster people. I certainly didn’t look like a boy version of Suu anymore. Instead I looked mostly male, with some feminine features, and I noticed that my body type was on the average side of things.
The people looked at me, but then they began to weep. I understood what they were going through, and I turned from them only to feel a hand grab my hand in an attempt at getting some attention.
“Thank you,” the little girl said.
I smiled at her, “You’re welcome,” I replied, “Where am I?”
She looked at the ground, “Our village. We’re a ways from the city, and… We did things, didn’t we?”
I nodded, “You did, but I can promise that it wasn’t your fault. There was a strange kind of wheat, it did this.”
She looked at me, and then pointed toward the store house. I walked toward it, finding more bodies, and a single bag of Raider’s Rye.
“This is what caused it,” I said, “I’ll take it from here.”
She looked at me, “What’s your name?”
I considered all that I had read, watched, and played. It didn’t matter though. I would go by my old handle, “I’m Bootyhunter,” I said.
“Is that like a bounty hunter?”
