Lost on Earth

Twilight sat at her desk, excitedly going through a new shipment of books. She was nearly finished with the one she was reading: 'Advanced Teleportation Spells'. She sat quietly, performing each spell in the book to test her knowledge, most of which she already knew how to do though. She was about to put the book down and reach for another until an interesting spell caught her eye. "Huh?" She said before levitating the book up to her eyes. "I don't thing I've done this one before."

"Hey Twilight!" A voice called, breaking the peaceful silence and Twilight's concentration. She groaned "What Spike?!" The small dragon took a step back as she glared at him. She did not like to be interrupted while reading. "Uh... you told me earlier to tell you that you need to go meet up with the girls at Sugar Cube Corner."

Twilight's face immediently brightened back up as she set down the book. "Thank you, Spike." She smiled and levitated the book into her saddle bag. Then she placed the saddle bag onto her back. "You can go on and take a break, Spike. See you later!" She smiled, trotting out the library door.

It was a sunny afternoon in Ponyville with very few coulds hanging in the sky. Twilight drew in a deep breath and exhaled. "Maybe I do spend to much time inside." She thought to herself, remembering how her friends would always try to get her to get out of the library." It's such a beautiful day! Now I know why they don't want me cooped up like I usually am." The lavender unicorn, lost in the beautiful sky, was almost unaware that she'd already reached Sugar Cube. She would of passed right by it unless the pink party pony called after her. "Twi~! Over here~!" Pinkie Pie said waving energetically to her over to the table.

Twilight sat down at the table with Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Applejack and Fluttershy. All of them giving greeted their lavender friend with a smile. "Rainbow Dash is late as usual." Rarity stated. She looked up into the sky and searched for the fast blue pegasus. "Hey guys, sorry I'm late again. I had some clouds to clear up." Rarity turned her head to find Rainbow Dash coming to a swift landing next to her. "Oh, it's quite alright Rainbow." Rarity said with a smile. Pinkie then trotted off into the kitchen during the small conversation between Dash and Rarity.

It seemed everyone was in a good mood that afternoon. The sky was so bright and sunny that it was hard to be anything else but in a good mood. "I'll have to also thank Celestia for the beautiful day at the end of one of my letters." Twilight thought as she looked back at her friends.

"I just LOVE gathering together like this every week~!" Pinkie cheered and she bounced back over to our table, dropping a tray of cupcakes on it. " Yeah." Applejack to the bubbly pink pony in agreement "We need to meet up more often!"

The six ponies talked as they ate the cupcakes, which were decilious as usual thanks to the Cakes. "Oh girls! I nearly forgot!" The purple unicorn placed the cupcake wrapper on the table and levitated her book our of her saddle bag. "I wanted to try out a new spell." Instantly Rainbow Dash bit her bottom lip. "Egg-head stuff again?" she groaned. Twilight choose to ignore her comment and guide everyone to the feild as she explained.

"You see girls," Twilight started,"I was reading this book on advanced spells and saw one that I was familiar with, but never have attempted to preform before." She looked back at her friends, who seemed to be understanding her. "It's just like a regualr teleportation spell but it involves transporting a numerous amount of ponies, faster, and farther than the regular spell." She explained.

The ponies around her look reassured as if they were preparing Twilight to experiment some new spell on them. Twilight levitated the book up to her face as she motioned for the group to stand in circle. "Okay where to?" asked Applejack. Twilight thought for a second, "How about Canterlot castle?" she asked her friends. Everyone agreed with Twilight. "Canterlot it is-then~!" Pinkie squealed with delight. "Now I can thank Celestia in person for the beautiful day, and show her this new spell." Twilight said to herself. She smiled at the mental image of her mentor praising her for learning a new spell in only a day.

"Ready girls?" Twilight beamed with a hint of determination in her voice. Everyone nodded. Twilight's horn began to glow a bright pruple and everone was consumed in a bright light that expanded around them...

And with that...came the explosion.
