Chapter 7: Across The Ocean
Author's Note
I thought long and hard about who the secondary antagonist should be. It wasn't easy. I understand that some people might hate me for this, but... I have no choice. Lightning's apprentice is... Scootaloo, mainly because I want to shock people and the fact that in the Season 8 episode The Washouts, Scootaloo (almost) joined Lightning. What if she actually joined Lightning for real? That's basically the basis for the next two stories.
Shadow is equipped with various weapons in this installment, paying homage to Shadow The Hedgehog.
Chapter 7: Across The Ocean
"Rainbow Dash... prepare to die", a mysterious female figure said. The figure put on a green-and-black jumpsuit and a helmet. Extending a pair of homemade wings, the figure flew off into the night.
On a boat, Sonic was fast asleep. He and Rainbow Dash were using a boat to cross the ocean. Shadow came along for security purposes. Suddenly, something landed on the deck. Shadow aimed his submachine gun at the figure, who stared at him through her helmet. He fired, but the figure expertly evaded the bullets, much to Shadow's shock. He climbed up the mast and became one with the night. His black fur makes him virtually invisible in the night. The figure looked around confusedly. He fired again, hitting the target this time. The helmet was knocked off, revealing the figure to be Scootaloo. "You son of a bitch!", she shouted. She knocked Shadow off the mast and he fell into the water. Rainbow Dash, who woke up because of the gunfire, dived in after the immortal creature. She burst out with the soaked hedgehog in her arms. She looked on in horror as the orange filly glared at her.
"Scootaloo?", Rainbow Dash asked.
"No... not Scootaloo... Thunder Clap!", the orange filly bellowed.
Suddenly, Rainbow Dash saw something appear over the horizon. Thunder Clap flew off. Sonic emerged.
"What the hell's going on?!", the tired hedgehog asked. He followed Rainbow Dash's gaze to the horizon. "Oh, shit." A pirate ship that had the Aqua Ring could be seen.
"Why would pirates want the Aqua Ring?", Shadow asked. He landed next to Sonic.
"I don't think these are your average pirates", Rainbow Dash answered.
"I've dealt with their captain before, so this should be a piece of cake", Sonic said. He then realized that they were on the water. "Crap."
"If they really have the Aqua Ring, then can't we just shoot them down?", Shadow asked, wielding a rocket launcher.
"Yeah, sure, why not?", Sonic answered. Shadow took aim.
"Say hello to my little friend", Shadow said. He fired. The rocket flew towards the pirate ship. It obliterated the entire ship, and the Aqua Ring was sent flying... away from the trio.
"Dash, who was that pony? I saw you with a look of horror in your eyes. Do you know that pony?", Sonic asked.
"Whoo! Got 'em!", Shadow shouted victoriously.
"She... was my adopted sister... but when I told her to follow her dreams... she joined Lightning... and the Washouts", Rainbow Dash answered through tears.
"Wait, where'd the ring go?", Shadow asked.
"I... I loved her... she was my sister... but now... the filly I loved is gone...", Rainbow Dash said through tears.
"Guys, I think the Aqua Ring fell into the water", Shadow said.
"Wait, what? Are you kidding me?!", Sonic asked angrily. "We have an evil filly that Rainbow Dash once knew after us, and you're first concern is the Aqua Ring?!" Suddenly, an island in the distance was glowing eerily.
"Perhaps the Aqua Ring is over there?", Rainbow Dash asked. She pointed to the island. She steered the boat to the island. Unbeknownst to them, Thunder Clap was following them.
"What kind of a crappy name is 'Thunder Clap'?", Shadow asked.
"Lightning and Thunder. Makes sense to me", Sonic answered.
"We're nearing the island. We don't know what to expec-", Rainbow Dash started to say, until another rocket was fired.
"Looks safe to me", Shadow said. They arrived at the island.
"Let's roll", Sonic said. He and the distraught Rainbow Dash exited the boat.
"You guys go. I'll guard the boat", Shadow said. The married couple walked into the forest. "Look at those gorgeous sons of bitches."
"It's unfortunate they'll have to die", Thunder Clap said. Shadow whirled around and aimed a mini-gun. However, he villain was invisible. "Oh, Shadow. Do you honestly think your immortality makes you superior to us mortals?"
"What?! No!", Shadow said. "I'm not superior! I've moved on!"
"What exactly are you? A monster who was created in a lab? The result of an attempt to recreate a super-weapon that could bring about the end of our kind?", Thunder Clap asked.
"Stop hiding, Clap!", Shadow shouted. Suddenly, the mini-gun was knocked out of Shadow's grasp, disarming him. "Show yourself!" He put up his fists and assumed a fighting stance. However, the invisible villain knocked him unconscious by swinging the mini-gun across his head.
"So uncivilized", Thunder Clap said. "Now that fuckface is off the board, I can hunt down the others."

In the forest...
Sonic was calling Tails, who was with Kokiri. Unbeknownst to the hedgehog and his wife, Thunder Clap, who was still invisible, had caught up with them. Ah. So they have a child. I guess she should be taken off the board as well. Rainbow Dash couldn't believe that her sister had turned into a monster. I guess I should also take fox boy off the board. Can't have them calling for backup, can we? Thunder Clap was literally thinking out loud. The couple looked around the forest in horror. "Gotta go", Sonic said. He hung up.
"You don't deserve to possess those rings. Give them to me or suffer the consequences", Thunder Clap said.
"Scootaloo, please stop! This isn't you!", Rainbow Dash desperately pleaded.
"I already told you that my name is THUNDER CLAP!", the villain responded. "You told me to follow my dreams, so I did! And I'm glad I did! My future has never been more clearer! It's time to DIE!"
