Impact - Log 1
"Midnight! Throw me that grenade!"
The young colt's vision slowly began to return to normal as his eyes widened.
'W-where am I...?" Midnight said, his ears being assaulted by a high pitched sound. As the sound began to clear, it was muffled by the sound of gunfire. He looked ahead, just in the nick of time to see a plane get blown up into the air. Midnight's face was that of horror as he could see the still body of the plane's former pilot fall from the sky, before the gunfire was redirected at the falling body, making sure not to give the pilot a chance to live.
'No... not this again!' Midnight thought. 'Quick Midnight! Use your training! Wake yourself up!' The Lunar pinched his wings to wake himself up, only for no response to arrive. 'Wait... I'm not dreaming at all! T-then what is this! This isn't like anything I've seen!' The young colt thought. He quickly drew out a sharp metal object, before screaming in pain as he dove the object straight through his arm, blood coming out. Midnight gasped once he actually checked his arm, the insignia of his status of a Lieutenant General gone, and instead of it was nothing. It was clear that he was a Private Class... but when was the last time he was a priva-
'Oh no... not this again...' Midnight thought.
"Midnight! Throw me that grenade!" The voice called out again. Midnight spun around to see a silver-colored mare yelling at her, extending her hand to receive the grenade. Midnight looked to his side and saw the flashing light of a grenade in it's idle mode, ready to be activated to be blown up. But the colt already knew what was going to happen. He seen this so many times before in a memory that was nearly forgotten.
"No! I won't!" Midnight yelled. The mare gritted her teeth in fury.
"Private! As your commanding officer I demand that you throw me that grenade! If we're going to deal with these rebels then you gotta give me that grenade." The pegasi yelled. Midnight shook his head. "What!? Why not!?"
"Because they'll kill you! You'll become a target, a easy target! I don't want to see you di-" Midnight was crying out, that was until he gasped in pain when the mare hit him in the stomach. He dropped to the floor, clutching onto his stomach.
"It's an order Private!" The mare yelled, causing the colt to whimper. Her glare softened as Midnight was on the verge of tears. "It's okay Private. Don't worry I'll be quick and sooner than you'd expected we'll be heading home real soon!" The filly said, grabbing the grenade nearby and activating the trigger system. Midnight grabbed her by her leg.
"Please... don't do it..." Midnight said, trying to get up to have a better stance to stop her. The higher-up shook her head.
"I know you might be scared, but don't worry this'll be too easy!" The filly said, standing straight up and pulling her arm back to throw. "Take this bitches!" The mare said, and just when she was about to let go, a bullet tore through her arm, causing her to gasp in pain. Her eyes widened even more when the grenade began to flash faster as it was ready to blow her and Midnight up. And to make matters worse, her arm was as frozen due to the amount of pain coursing through her body from the bullet.
"NO!" Midnight yelled, running towards her, praying that if this was a dream that Luna could wake him up or stop what he knew was going to happen to happen.
"G-goodbye Midnight." The higher-up said, before screaming as the grenade released a flash of white as it detonated, taking her with it, while Midnight screamed in horror and pain as he was both throw away and saw her being blown up by the device...
Applejack was just starting to wake up from bed when she was startled by a nearby scream, so startled that she tripped off her bed and collapsed onto the floor. Looking to where the source of the scream was she realized that it was Midnight, crying and screaming on the floor.
"Oh Celestia dang it Midnight keep it down!" Applejack said harshly, pissed that Midnight woke her up all of the sudden. The boy stopped crying but continued to cry, tears spilling and wetting the dirt floor. Applejack frowned. "Oh stop being a cry-baby. Get up already, stop being a colt and be a stallion." The orange mare said. Midnight slowly got up, sobbing as he got up. "I said to shut up and be a man!" Applejack yelled, pulling Midnight up and pushing him away, causing him to nearly lose his balance. The young colt did not look at her directly in the eye, but it was apparent that he was annoyed by her. "Come on. Come outside with me. We have work to do." Applejack said neutrally at that point.
"But Fluttershy said that-" Midnight was saying until Applejack cut him off.
"I know what my friend said! But if we're going to get you up and going again you're going to have to keep that body in check. Also we don't have any food so we're going to have to pick some apples to make something. So come along." Applejack ordered. Midnight sighed but nodded as he slowly got up, the pain in his chest bothering him, every breath causing him to clutch his chest in pain and grit his teeth.
As Applejack got out of the barn, she sighed as she remembered the first time she went out to work on the fields. At first was weak, barely enough to even shake a tree with either fists or legs. But as her bigger brother began to teach her how to connect with the tree properly, using the ground as a stronger base, along with training at home, Applejack's strength began to increase over the years, until she was as good as her brother, able to shake even the mightiest of all trees.
She chuckled as she remembered the prank her family pulled on her when she pitched her against a certain tree. The only thing was that this tree was unmovable by any means possible. No matter how many times she punched the tree, kicked the tree, (once she even used the chainsaw on it but it didn't work either) the tree didn't budge. It wasn't until after nearly a year after fighting with the tree where she said that she gave up on the business. That was when the truth was revealed to her, and when the pitched her against another tree, all of its fruits were able to fall thanks to her training.
Oh and let's not forget when Apple Bloom began to help as well! Though younger than when she started, the young filly would've picked as many baskets as she could and prepared them to collect the falling apples. Then she would carry each basket back to home. That was her training, and already signs of the fruit of her training were stating to, well, bloom, as her muscles began to become more apparent and toned, much like her own and the rest of her family.
It was good times... times that will now no longer continue with her family gone, dead. Applejack sighed, sadness taking over her as memories of her family began to pour into her mind. She was so focused in these thoughts that she didn't feel a hand poke her shoulder many times.
"Erm... Applejack. You stopped walking." Midnight's voice said. Applejack got out of her trance, her eyes slightly widening when she saw Midnight's hand over her shoulder. Quickly she slapped it away, gaining another 'ow' from Midnight.
"Don't touch me." Applejack said simply. Midnight looked at her directly in the eyes before sighing.
"Sorry. I know you must miss them..." Midnight said, looking at the ground, feeling guilty now.
"Apology not accepted." Applejack said sternly. Midnight sighed before looking at the large fields of apple trees in front of them. Thankfully the trees, while depending on the sun for their energy, could continue growing in the black environment around them. Though now more labor force had to be used to maintain these trees growing, and even with the technology like fertilizers and artificial lights helping, it still required nearly the same amount of labor used before these times. Applejack pushed Midnight towards a tree.
"Now Midnight, since I saved your life ("And you tried to kill me...") Shut up Midnight. Anyways I saved your life, and since you took away my family ("I already said I'm sorry about tha-) Well you will be more sorry when I do this to you. You will now replace the bulk of their labor force from now on." Applejack said, taking in as much pleasure she could when she saw Midnight's face.
"WHAT!?" Midnight cried out. Applejack scoffed.
"Oh don't worry I was nearly able to complete half of these fields when my brother got injured. Course it was way more helpful when Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie helped, I thank them. But now with them gone, you'll be my new 'helper'." Applejack said. Midnight blinked.
"I swear you were about to call me a slave." Midnight said. Applejack shrugged.
"Ok... 'slave'. You will do what I say from here on out." Applejack said, grinning. Midnight frowned and sighed.
"I should really shut my mouth up...." Midnight muttered.
"You really should. Plus, think of this as a training program. Like look at you." Applejack said, pointing at Midnight's body. "No muscle. Seem to be packing some weight. Your bones seem undeveloped. Yeah think of how more efficient you'd be later once we train you." Applejack said with a smug smile. Midnight frowned.
"Appearances can be deceiving. My fur is still ruffled you know?" Midnight said. Applejack shrugged.
"I don't care. Now go there and pick those apples." Applejack said, grabbing a stick and hitting his side.
"Ow!" Midnight cried out. "Stop treating me like a slave!"
"Oh I am going to have so much fun with you... slave." Applejack said, laughing. Midnight sighed before flying up and individually picking up some apples. Applejack shook her head.
"Yeah Midnight. Not really the thing I planned here." Applejack said, pulling him down to the ground, so fast that his fur became puffed up. Applejack snickered. "You look hilarious like that. Anyways though, here's how I want you to do it." Applejack said, getting into a kicking stance, before kicking a tree, the tree shaking before apples began to fall off of it. Midnight's eyes slightly widened at the sight of the powerful mare. After putting her kicking leg back onto the floor she smiled at Midnight. "Now you do it." Applejack said.
"I am so going to break a bone at this." Midnight grumbled. Applejack shrugged.
"You killed my family. Now I don't have the labor force to take care of this farm. You're now going to replace them as much as I hate it. Not my problem though." Applejack said, grinning. Midnight slowly looked at her.
"Was that... for last time?" Midnight asked. Applejack nodded.
"Yep. Says Mr. 'Not My Problem'." Applejack said. Midnight groaned, before he got into a kicking stance, many times nearly losing his balance. "Earth's gravity giving you troubles? Not my problem." Applejack remarked, causing Midnight to growl.
"Buck you! And I don't even know what that means!" Midnight yelled. Applejack rolled her eyes and looked away, smirking.
"Not. My. Problem. Say what? If you can bring down even one apple, we'll stop for today." Applejack stated. Midnight nodded, before kicking the tree out of fury and determination. Applejack winced at the sound of bones cracking and the sound of a bloodcurdling scream going through her ears as Midnight's leg cracked when his leg met the tree.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! APPLEJACK! MY LEG!" Midnight yelled in pain, dropping onto the floor and clutching it in pain. "MY LEG! MY LEG HURTS RIGHT NOW! APPLEJACK!" Midnight cried. Suddenly it was stopped when he yelled 'Ow' as something hit him square in the face. Applejack was shocked to see a apple nearby Midnight, same thing for Midnight who was surprised to see that the object that had fallen was a apple. He chuckled and smiled, though he was still in pain in crying.
"Y-ya k-know wh-what they say... No pain... No gain..." Midnight chuckled, before fainting from the pain. Applejack stood there, before finally blinking.
'Shit... Now I have to buck the trees all by myself for breakfast.' Applejack thought, before sighing as she prepared her kicking stance before kicking the same tree that Midnight kicked.
And she too screamed when her own leg nearly broke.
Nearly.
"What the... h-how...?! I should've been able to kick that tree easily! Unless..." Applejack said to herself, before screaming once more when she realized which tree they've been kicking at.
The same tree that she had been kicking at many times over without success... The same tree that so many other Apple Family members had tried and failed to knock down a single fruit, one that even her own brother couldn't manage...
...the same one that Midnight just right now had knocked down a single fruit from it.
Even though he also broke his leg trying to do it. But either ways, he had achieved the impossible.
"Is... he... THAT STRONG!?" Applejack cried out. "But that's impossible! His body is nowhere the type needed to pull off such feat! Unless..." Applejack said, gulping at the thought of what she had to do to see if she was correct. Slowly Applejack flattened out the fur from his 'fat' stomach, and she discovered that in reality everything was the contrary. His body was well toned, maybe as toned as her own brother's! And to add more sting, the former Lunar Pilot was probably just a few years older than Apple Bloom, maybe a bit younger than herself!
"Appearances can be deceiving. My fur is still ruffled you know?" Midnight's sentence echoed through her head. First was his nature, contrary to that of a Lunar, supposedly. He was able to convince her friend that he was not dangerous. He passed as one that was unable to defend himself without the need of a weapon due to his 'apparent' body type, but his fur was just simply... ruffled? How much more things that seemed to be is he really hiding...?
Of course, her leg sent a signal of pain to Applejack to remind her that she was hurt. Applejack gritted her teeth, rubbing her leg as hard as she could.
"Ugh! Fine! Let me call Fluttershy then!" Applejack said, grabbing her radio and sending a signal to Fluttershy. "Fluttershy! Do you copy! Fluttershy answer the radio!"
"I don't need to answer the radio if I'm right over here... Applejack..." A soft but harsh voice said. Slowly Applejack looked up to the source of the voice, her eyes widening when she saw Fluttershy sitting on a tree.
"Surprise Motherhoofer." Fluttershy simply said, and it was at this moment that Applejack knew, she bucked up.
"BUCK! YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN MAKE THIS WAY LESS PAINFUL RIGHT!?" Applejack voice yelled out as Fluttershy was operating on Applejack... with no pain killers or pain reducers. And it wasn't like Fluttershy was being careful either. As Fluttershy healed Applejack's strained leg, she also checked on Midnight who was still unconscious.
"Yeah, well what would be the point of this punishment? I saw you mistreating that poor colt! Yes he killed your family, but at least show some respect!" Fluttershy yelled. Applejack whimpered as Fluttershy continued to operate on her, until she finally stopped. The original pain had disappeared, but still her body was feeling hurt from what Fluttershy did.
"Well he kind of did it to himself ya know? I didn't know that the tree he hit was the same one that is unfazed!" Applejack said trying to defend herself. Fluttershy sighed.
"But you did try to hurt him. You literally called him a slave and you treated him like one, pushing and hitting him!" Fluttershy said. "He was not supposed to be working at all now! His chest needs to heal! He needed to be in bed, resting!" Fluttershy yelled. "I had joked about you having sex with him, I mean it was unintentional, but I didn't imagine you feeling his body over!" Fluttershy commented, a hint of a blushing forming. Applejack blushed as well.
"Well I was wondering how the kid could've done that if his body type wasn't the adequate to do so! Surprisingly he's really toned. But I had no intention of feeling him over for pleasure! I was just wondering!" Applejack said, stammering along the way.
"L-let's just stop with this conversation about what happened. We don't know how old that colt is. You could be breaking the law about child labor or child abuse! Or if someone else saw and misinterpreted this as... well you know what would've happened." Fluttershy said. Applejack had a deadpanned look.
"I thought we said we're going to stop talking about this?" Applejack asked. Fluttershy nodded.
"Of course, let's not talk about this anymore. I need to work on Midnight's broken leg, and I don't want the image of you seductively looking over Midnight's toned body in my mind while I operate on him." Fluttershy said, blushing before hitting himself on the head. "I did it again didn't I?" Fluttershy said. Applejack chuckled.
"Well that's kind of what happens when you read those type of books Fluttershy. Just try not to become a pervert. You do you." Applejack said. Fluttershy rolled her eyes before taking out one of the operation knives and cutting through Midnight's leg, beginning to heal Midnight's broken bone. Luckily the young colt didn't wake up, otherwise he would've had experienced a lot of pain through the operation. Finally as Fluttershy stitched the broken skin Midnight finally woke up, smiling as he saw her.
"Thanks Fluttershy..." Midnight said happily.
"Yep. I totally ship you two." Applejack muttered, though both Fluttershy and Midnight were able to hear this comment.
"I am not a thing to be shipped. I am not a supply box or crate." Midnight said. Both mares just blinked at him.
"H-how old are you Midnight?" Fluttershy asked after a long moment of time, while blushing at the thought of Applejack shipping her and Midnight. Midnight scratched his head.
"Erm... 15?" Midnight said, scratching his head. Applejack's jaw dropped.
"15!? That strong at such age!? Are you even normal!?" Applejack said, grabbing Midnight and shaking him crazily. Midnight became fazed by this rapid movement of his body, and by conclusion, his brain. After Applejack finished her assault and Midnight finally recovered, he scratched his head again.
"Well it's 15 Lunar Years. Even when we managed to lower the amount of time it takes for a Lunar Day to pass which would've been around 30 days, Lunar days are still a little longer than a Equestrian Day. Basically after complex mathematics we have various systems. Though if I wanted to go with the Equestrian Cycle, I'd be 18 years old." Midnight responded. Applejack nodded.
"Alright that's a more understandable age... but still 18?! And you're that strong!?" Applejack yelled again. Midnight nodded.
"Uhm yeah... you said that the moon's gravity is supposed to be weaker than Earth's because it has a smaller body... well guess how we increased the spin of the moon to be that of Earth's while still maintaining everyone on it?" The young Lunar asked. Fluttershy widened her eyes.
"You increased the gravity of the moon?" Fluttershy asked. Midnight nodded.
"We did. And since we can now freely manipulate gravity, we technically also manipulated time due to the fact that space-time curves around massive objects. I usually train in Gravity Rooms, and as the gravity increases, time slows and the heat also cranks up as well as the pressure." Midnight said, before pulling something from his mane. "Oh there it is..." Midnight said, pulling four golden rings. "These can be used for many things, but one of my favorite things to use them are to train, since they can fluctuate in weight." Midnight said. He first let one go, and it fell as soft as a feather on the ground. He then dropped the second though and the ground cracked under it's weight. After experimenting with these rings, he slid two on his arms and two on his feet, the rings softly glowing before powering down. "Right now though I'm not in the right condition to be training, but if you want Applejack I could give you a set of them." Midnight said.
"Wait... are they real gold?" Applejack said. Midnight nodded.
"They are. Hmm... wait let me see if I don't have another set..." Midnight said, before pulling out another set. He placed them on the table. "Here ya go Applejack! One free set of these rings!" Midnight said. Applejack shook her head.
"I don't really trust you. Who knows? You might use them to kill me by increasing the weight on them to unbearable measures. And they're... they're priceless probably..." Applejack said, though it was apparent that she was looking at the rings very profoundly.
"Na. On the moon there's a lot of materials, and gold and jewels are abundant. Plus the most it can increase is based on how much you can take. It has a specific algorithm, and it'll accommodate your ability to maintain higher gravity levels." Midnight said. "My gift to you." Midnight added. Applejack looked at Midnight.
"Are you making it harder for me to hate you? Because it seems you're certainly trying to do so, and you are making it harder for me to hate you." Applejack said. Midnight smiled.
"Maybe. Of course I know it's hard to forgive, but like I said, I want to at least have a relationship where you're not trying to kill me at least." Midnight said, before laughing. "Yeah that would be nice. Not having to run for my life every single second... it gets sad and lonely... I just want to live a normal life..." Midnight said, his voice getting sadder. He then shook that thought off. "Say what... let's make a deal..." Midnight said. Applejack raised an eyebrow.
"What deal?" Applejack said, trying to sound dry but failing to do so.
"Well you said you need help keeping this farm alive, and I need a place where I can rest... of course the military will eventually find me, either one, and I'm going to have to leave, and with my condition I'm going to either die to your military or get patched up and continue fighting for my military. I want to repay you as much as I can for what happened back... two days ago I think? One day? Three days? So I'm going to stay here and help your life get back on track, and in return I want to be treated with the minimum amount of kindness. Alright?" Midnight said, extending his hand towards Applejack. "You don't have to shake my hand to be my friend, but at least shake it for the deal." Midnight sad. Applejack tentatively grabbed his hand and shook it down once
"Fine... I guess so... but I'm still not forgiving you..." Applejack said, gritting her teeth. "You killed my family, and you took everything I had." Applejack said, before softening. "But I guess I do need help, and while you're the enemy, well I guess I can kill you latter on the battlefield." Applejack said. Midnight smiled.
"Dully noted. But now you're speaking my language!" Midnight grinned. "If you want to you if we meet you can kill me. I'm not going to shoot at you. I'll be happy making you happy now and then. Alright?" Midnight said. Applejack stared at him a bit strangely.
"Okay...?" Applejack said. "But anyways we need to get all the apples we need for today's breakfast... lunch...?" Applejack said, looking at Fluttershy. "What time is it?" Applejack asked.
"Why don't we call it a brunch?" Midnight said. Applejack slowly nodded. "And don't worry I got the apples ready." Midnight said, getting up, spreading his wings out before zipping towards the field, a thin blue trail appearing behind him. In a split second in his grasp was a sizable amount of apples, enough for the three of them. "T-there..." Midnight said, panting a bit, before groaning in pain from his chest and from landing on his just recently repaired foot. "...all the apples ready Mistress Applejack." Midnight said, raising an eyebrow when he saw the two mares blush. "Erm... why your faces are red?" Midnight asked. "Was it something I said?"
"Oh no Midnight... it's erm..." Applejack stammered. "Do you know what a mistress means?" Applejack asked. Midnight nodded.
"A female boss." Midnight said. "Wait is there another definition?" Midnight said, blinking, causing the two mares to blush even further. Suddenly they heard Midnight's stomach grumble. "Oh yeah... hadn't ate anything since three days ago... nor drank..." Midnight said blushing in embarrassment. "Can we eat?" Midnight asked. The two mares looked at each other.
"Yeah let's eat." Applejack said.
"Agreed." Fluttershy added. The two went into the kitchen with Midnight staying in the room alone. Midnight lifted the ring around his left arm and pressed a hidden button, activating a recorder.
"Start New Series of Log: Designate as 'Impact'. Commence Impact Log 1. During these last few days a lot has occurred to me. A few days ago I was designated as the bomber pilot with the possession of a nuclear device to be dropped on Manehatten. Despite my notice to reject the position, few hours later I was sent out, and at the designated time, dropped the bomb, killing many in the process. I have a secret though, one that hopefully won't land me in trouble if leaked some other way. Either ways I went unconscious and crashed near a farm in the area known as Sweet Apple Acres. I met two Equestrians, one with the name of Applejack and the other named Fluttershy. Applejack was one of the family member's victims of the Manehatten's destruction, and as of now she's shown hostile action towards me. Fluttershy however had shown kindness in many ways towards me, mainly through her kindness to heal a wounded enemy soldier. I am now trying to recover from a chest wound after being impaled by a metal part that used to be part of my plane, the entire thing wasted. I've also created a probe to find them. I can't specify who, otherwise yet again I might be in trouble if this recording is overheard or discovered, but I can say that if everything goes correctly as planned, I should be able to find their location during this month if not two. However I can say with a hint of success that my relationship with Applejack is slowly improving, though it is a fragile one I must say. Time will only tell. I also experienced a nightmare during today's sleep, and honestly it shook me to the core. I shouldn't had such 'dream' if I should call it that, 'nightmare' would've been better word to describe, 'memory' nearly 100% undeniable certain, but I did. I miss them, all of them. She might think that I don't understand, but I certainly do. And worse thing is that I know I am the cause of her pain. That strikes me harder than any other bullet. Being part of this project I know I have no other choice, I was born into it, but I wish I could do something about this... it pains me to see one victim of caused what they call 'The Terror of the Night' personally. Anyways... I just hope that things would go out well, for her. Midnight Blitzer Login Off." Midnight finished by pressing the button again, turning off the recording device and saving it.
"Hey Midnight! Your food is ready!" Fluttershy's voice was heard. Midnight got up, replacing his sad face with a smile.
"Alright Fluttershy! I'm coming!" Midnight said, getting up before disappearing into the kitchen.
