“YOU! CANNOT! BE! SERIOUS!” A voice roars out loudly.
"What Is it?" A low child's voice said, glancing over his shoulder at the voice.
A ball of light flies right to their face. “What do you think you genius?!” It bounces as it shireks i its high pitch voice. “I’m a pint-sized glorified firefly!”
"You became Navi? Haha!" He laughs.
The red sprite growls. “Couldn’t have been Midna, noo that would be too much!” It spins around the other quickly, making them dizzy. “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you~!”
"Guess that mean I'm the hero of time link, but I wonder if it's from ocorina of time or Majora's mask." He said.
“Who knows, don’t care, I am furious!” The fairy complains further.
"Hey relax, maybe we could find a way to turn You humanoid again." He said.
“Better…” He grumbles.
"Hey isn't Navi a girl?" He asked with a smirk. "That's gonna be funny."
He...She, just glowed a deep red. “Of feck off.”
"Too bad I'm a child again, if I was link from skyward sword or twilight princess I'd tap ya." He said smirking at his friend's reaction.
“...Not happening either way.” They tell him with a blank voice.
He laughs as they noticed a russaling noise. "Sounds like a deku scrub…"
“You do realise Deku’s are living shrubs right?”The fairy says. “It makes sense why they would sound like a bush or shrub moving.”
"That's my point, it means we're in enemy territory." He said.
“...And my point is, it might be an animal moving through the bush.” The fairy floats over where the sound was, which was a bush. “In this case, either way, both of our points are right.” He says as a Deku, several actually made a jump at the fair who just calmly kept the height advantage.
Link pulled out his sword and shield, getting ready to fight. The deku scrubs however, looked around, blinking in confusion before heading off in a seemingly random direction. "Strange, usually they attack."
The shrugs though link couldn’t see. “Who cares?” They say. “Less trouble for us.”
"I suppose, let's try to find out where we are." Link said, looking around.
“Whelp, guess we just… wander around?” The fairy says.
"You got a better idea?" He asked.
“Nada.” Was all he said.
"Then let's just start walking to try and find out where we are." He said, heading into the forest more. The two walked through the forest for hours; climbing over boulders, wadding across streams, even running away from a pack of wooden dogs. They eventually had to take shelter in a cave they stumbled on for the night. "Well, that sucked."
“Stellar start.” Navi remarks thick with sarcasm.
"What do you expect? We are in the middle of the forest." He said, gathering some dry wood.
“I was agreeing with you.” They respond, sitting on the ground.
"Oh, that's a first." He jokes
“Yeah yeah, just get the wood.” They say, sounding like they were trying to relax. “...Say, since Navi’s a fairy, wouldn’t I have the revive thing that fairies do?”
"You mean if I faint or die?" He asked raising an eyebrow, using a Flint and stone to start the fire. "Navi doesn't have that, if she did the Player would never get a game over."
“Or she’s just lazy.” They grumble out loud.
Link sets his sword and shield next to him, using it as a pillow Ashe looks outside, a light rain and cool breeze flowing into the area they're in. "It's cool but wet out, kinda feels like summer."
“That’s more of a Spring or Fall thing…” Navi couldn’t help of comment quickly.
"A cool Summers night." Link said. "It's a thing."
“Not from where I’m from… Hot and wet, which balanced out nicely.”
Link nods Slowly drifting off to sleep. After what seemed to be an all too brief slumber for the young hero of time, the morning chill of the Dawn awoke him. "Jeez, maybe it is getting closer to winter "
Navi was still asleep, however, letting off tiny little snores with the wings flittering at every breath.
Link smiles softly, putting a little washcloth on her that worked like a blanket for the little fairy as he goes outside to look for some breakfast.
The young green dressed boy returns to the cave roughly an hour later with two fish, he caught. He started a little fire again and used his metal shield as a stove to cook one of them saving the other for later.
“...Faries can eat right?” Navi soon says, filtering just over his shoulder.
"Um not sure, do you know if you have a mouth or something?" He asked cutting off small bits of fish for his fairy friend. "... That thought make me think of tingle…" link shivers in disgust.
“I kan put my fingea’s in mah muth.” She says before gagging. “Why’d did I do that. It’s hard to see me with this glow alright?” As she says this, she floats on down to the little makeshift dish.
Link chuckles a little as he bites into his breakfast, looking outside. "Wherever we are it definitely has Zelda enemies and friends. I saw talking deku scrubs and enemy ones while fishing, even a zora."
“Cool, you saw a fish lady. Or Fish guy.” Navi didn’t seem all the interested. He could see the bit of fish move and shake once she got close to it… and saw the smallest bite mark he has seen.
He nods, cracking his back. "Thing is I thought I saw a rito as well. So unless we're in a breath of the wild type world we're in a sort of crossroads of the Zelda timeline." He said. "Which both intrigued and freaks me out, considering that could mean we might run into ANY of the monsters from past Zelda games."
“Oh, so Game Theory Hyrule Warriors stuff.” Navi pipes up right after that.
Link slowly nods. "Probably yeah."
“Aight.” Was all she said, taking a small bite again.
Link finishes his fish and wipes his mouth as he begins polishing the section of his shield that he used to eat on. Navi wasn’t done yet though she was taking her time eating. "Is it good?" Link asked smiling softly as he takes the last bit of her food and puts it on a napkin gently putting it on his shoulder.
“It’s fish. Its good.” Navi blandly says to him in response before floating up. “Alright, so where to?”
"My guess to see if you could fly up high enough to try and spot a city or something, this forest is the best place that way if anything comes at you you can hide." He said.
“I mean…” Navi’s body tilts up slightly. “I could try that… if the winds not too strong…” There was a distinct hint of hesitation in their voice.
Link looks up at the top of the trees seeing them moving. "Maybe we should find a tall hill then."
“Yes. Something closer to ground…” Navi encourages this idea quickly.
Link smiles and excites the cave, glancing around before slowly making his way through the forest. "Mind going up a little bit to try and see a hill or something? Not too high but you know."
“Alright.” She tries to says straightly before slowly floating up.
Link watches her carefully. "You ok?'
Either she ignored him or didn’t hear but she doesn’t say anything in response as she steadily rose up before stopping just a little bit above a tree. “I-I can see a hill over t-to the left of here.” She says, practically hugging the top of the tree.
"Do you need help getting down!" He called worried.
“No, I’m good…” She says, quickly coming down from the tree.
He nods. "So to the left right?"
“Yeah, left. Its a little ways away.” She says to him, hovering over his shoulder.
He nods and heads that way, forcing his way through the floora and fanna. Link walks around large oak trees and passing animals such as bears, tigers and jaguars making sure to keep his distance.
“So far so good…” Navi could be heard mumbling to themselves.
"Don't jinx it." He chuckled.
“Yeah yeah…” They say to him.
Link and Navi finally reach the hill, links energy having depleted a great deal during the trip from all the dodging animals.
Navi’s nerves weren’t doing much better, giving the heavy sigh of relief.
Link gulps taking in air as he looks around. "Ok let's see if we can find a city."
His fary companion rested on his shoulder. “Or a town at least…” She says with a grumble.
Link nods, looking around the scenery noticing the forest they just left, a mountain that looks like an inactive volcano, a field of grass and what looks like an ocean. Link notices some buildings on the other side of the field, pointing it out to Navi. "Are those buildins?"
“I mean, it looks like it.” Navi says, floating up a little bit.
"Welp, looks like we have a destination." Link sighed sitting down.
“Bit of a walk.” Navi says, slowly circling around Link’s head just above his sight.
"Yeah, probably gonna be a few days." He said. "Now I wish I had gotten more fish."
“Just making sure,,you have water skin right?” The fairy asks.
Link nods. "Yeah." They don’t say anything afterward, just seeming to bounce in the air as if to nod. Link stands again, pulling out a peach of paper and setting it on the ground as he pulls out a quill and ink. "Ok tell me any distinct landmarks you can see on the road to the town besides the mountain."
“Erm, I guess?” Navi just says sounding confused but more nervous if anything.
"What are you afraid of?" Link asked as Navi saw him drawing a very well detailed map. "Just tell me any specific landmarks you can see from here."
“I can see, barely, a lake that looks that its a way behind the town and really big really twisty looking tree.” Navi says quickly. “...Ugly looking thing…”
Link nods, drawing the landmarks. "Ok, let's try to get to the tree before nightfall. It looks like it might rain and I don't think either of us want to get caught in a storm."
“Right.” His fairy companion agrees.
Their attention gets drawn to a loud thunder cloud in the distance, lightning and thunder able to be seen and heard from their location. "Let's go." He said jogging down the hill with the fairy flittering after him, trying to keep up.
