Gerhardt Mechanica is the High Lord of the Research and Development branch of the Human Kingdom. His world is one of constant war and violence where the concept of war crimes does not exist. A Lesser God by the name of Silvanus has held an unreasonable grudge against him for centuries and decides to take revenge by exploiting a loophole in the rules laid out by the Greater Gods and casting him out of his universe. Because of this the Human Kingdom is forced to declare war on Silvanus due to reasons of politics thus starting a massive war that Silvanus intends to use as an excuse to exterminate humanity, due to his misguided grudge.

Ending up in Equestria by pure chance, Gerhardt is forced to adapt to this new relatively peaceful world and the pacifistic ponies that live there. However even there the vengeful deity continues to haunt him.
