Chapter 1 - Wings like the Sky
Author's Note
First off, I would like to say that I am very sorry about the last version of this story and there's a valid reason fro that. Something thing went wrong with my computer as I was trying to remake it, and I ended up with no choice but to start over, since I could not find my story anywhere on my pace...and right when I was finally beginning I was getting somewhere too
. So this is the reason why I have only the first chapter back out again, and instead of all the others, which I can assure will come back. At least once I have everything else sorted out with my laptop to ensure something like this doesn't happen again in the future
. Anyway, there's the newly saved and refreshed version of My Little Broly in my first Arc of One Dragon Ball, but, before you read, as with last time, please look at the following rules so things can go smoothly here
.
Anyone who has the courtesy to leave a like in the story, please leave a reason as to why you did so in the comment section below. Favoriting it and adding it to libraries is one thing, but as I rewrote this story, I was becoming increasingly annoyed when people did leave likes, but didn't leave a reason as to why or what they liked about the story, or what they didn't like about it in the comments section
. Also, the very first time I rewrote this, I got just a few, but very offending comments about the story itself, and that is somethin I have zero tolerance for. So if I find any insulting or trolling comments down here, you will be hearing from be, because as I said in my bio, I am not someone who takes crap from anyone, period
.
Please point out any misspelling or over extended sentences and paragraphs, having to do with dialogue, or environments, in this new version of the Knights of Equestria, so I can fix them. I want this to be as flawless as possible, and the last thing I want is for people to get a bit put off by the things I accidentally put in my chapters
. So please, please, please, be sure to do so, and I will do all that I can to fix it.
The final and most important rule...have fun reading
! If there's one thing that I don't like, is boredom, especially when it comes to a story. And the last thing that I want is for you guys to be bored of my own stories, so I'm gonna do my best to keep that from happening. If not for you guys, then at least for myself
.
Don't really have much to say here besides that, other than the request/rules form last time after my computer started acting up
. Oh, and constructive criticism is allowed, but be sure to be polite about it
.
See you all next time
!
Chapter 1 - Wings like the Sky
It is not unknown to all that the world is full of things that have been undiscovered. Secrets that have been buried just beneath the surface of the earth and left there for endless periods of time. Some of these unknow secrets have been fortunate enough to remain hidden, undisturbed in their earthly beds of darkness. Others have had the misfortune of being dug up from their graves and brought into the in the light of the whole word above. Some have used those secrets for the good of themselves and those around them, bring many beneficial changes. Others used these untold secrets for more sinister purposes and desires. Causing disasters of unimaginable catastrophic proportions to happen to the ones around the dark ones using said secret. Disasters that forever leave a scar on the earth by those who let it come to rise There are some findings that just happened to let themselves be discovered. Be it by some accidental coincidence or by mother nature herself, many things are found that sometimes should not be. Least they change the course of events or history in ways that not all can be prepared for.
Whatever the method, cause or effect, these mysteries have shaped the world in some way or another. They have been used for good and bad causes, with no way to tell the end result until it is right in front of the ones that created it. Of all the secrets that are out there in the earth, there is one thing that has yet to be truly explored and searched. A place that so many wanted to expedite themselves out to, but could not, for fear of what was within it. As well has not having the experience necessary to survive in it; least they get lost, and never returning again. The one region of the world that still holds its watery grip on nearly all of Equis to this very day.
The vast and endless ocean. The famous land of water.
From the day it had first originated, made by the goddess of creation herself the ocean and its very depths has been one of the most unexplored places in the entire world. This doesn’t come off as much of a surprise, since nopony has ever really bothered searching around it. Let alone try to study it and see what untold mysteries that it held. To many who see it, it is just a vast region of blue water that is stretched all across the planet, covering almost all of it in its liquid structure of blueness. The vast waters of the ocean were far more than that, however, to those who truly know it and understand it. It was anything but a seemingly endless pool of blue that was found on island shores and near villages. It was an underwater land that held an unlimited amount of secrets just waiting to be found. Ones that had yet to be discovered by the ones brave enough to venture out into the watery depths. Such as the ones who have completely mastered the sea and see it as a second him to them
Unfortunately, most of the ponies living in the islands doting the seas were too afraid to try this task to take on its power. Their fear of the unknown in the sea prevented them from doing so, and one could see why if they were to think about it. Even those that wanted to go out to sea hadn’t the nerve nor the will, or the tools to challenge the power of the waters they stood upon. None of them could truly be blamed, for they had every reason to fear the sea and the secrets that it held. It was said that there were many valuables, treasures, and even new forms of life that lay under the surface of the great waters. Many that were never seen before by mortal eyes. Ones that would surely prey upon anyone and anyone that dared leave the safety of their island homes and dare challenge the mighty waters. It was these reasons, along with many more that gave islanders cold feet and hooves, and kept them entering the sea, and uncovering things never seen before. They soon found no need to, for it was soon dominated by pods that were built for life out on the sea. Ones that would be covered in the most grotesque of filth found in the deepest dirtiest parts of a wasteland.
The notorious sea dwelling pirates. The dominators of the untamed Four Seas.
For as long as creatures can remember, pirates have infected the seas for generations that stretched for what seemed like forever. Since the very first pirate had originated, they scowered all across the seas leaving no waters un-sailed. On they went, to all corners of the earth like a rat infestation on a rancher’s farm, leaving nothing but depravity in their wake. They were known as the adventurers of the sea and the conquerors of the deep, able to go against anything and anyone they come across. As famous as they were, it was all for the wrong. Reasons that were justified by practically all creatures that knew of them. Pirates were seen as, vile, cruel, greed and evil in every manner, shape and form, more so than any other villain known to rise anywhere in the world. In many ways this was true, for they were known to do things so evil that it would make even the most stone hearted of criminals seem like saints. And that was really saying something indeed.
They sailed across the seas, looking for any destination with valuables they could put to their own use and have for their gain. It mattered not to them whether those islands had villages or not, or if there were even villagers there at all. Anything they had that the pirates saw as useful, even the villagers themselves, they’d take it without hesitation. No questions asked, no second thoughts, and certainly no change of the mind. Everywhere they went, they left nothing but destruction their wake, smoke in their numbers and ash beneath their feet. They imprinted themselves into the minds of all they met and came across and met. Darkness, horror, despair and absolute fear where what they left behind most of all. The likes of which was never seen from even the most heartless of beings and creatures that graced the planet Equis.
It went on like this for generations, with pirate after pirate pillaging, conquering, and destroying all the lands they came across. There were some who decided not to destroy, but instead dominate and take over as their own, crushing all that stood in their way. Innocent creatures were left in state of paranoia and fear of what each day could bring with pirates sailing the sea and ruling over their lands. No one was safe form their wrath or their power, and those that were caught or defied them were never seen again. Even young foals, who were filled with unlimited curiosity, knew of the danger that pirates brought and did their best to stay out of their way. Alas, not even they were spared from the masters of the sea, caring not for their innocence of the pureness the little ones held. This showed others that no matter what they did, they’d never truly be safe from the sheep clothed wolves. The ones that would make themselves look so sweet and innocent and reveal the fangs of darkness just waiting to sink into their victims. That nothing and no one, would ever rise higher than a bloodthirsty pirate, and they would always prevail over all in the end.
But then, one pony made a stand to them all and painted them in a new picture. A picture that was hardly recognized or acknowledged, but a picture nonetheless. A pony that wore the clothing of a pirate, but had a heart for adventure and freedom. One that would join his fellow brethren and set the entire world into a course were only one just like him could end it.
The all-powerful, all mighty, and all dominant Pirate King, Skywing Ocean Heart Shenron. The legendary Sky Dragon of the Four Seas and Captain of the Sky Dragon Pirates.
On the surface, Skywing was just like any other pony out somewhere that was as big as the sea, oblivious to the endless wonders that it held from under it. Living in a quiet and warm little village on an island with kind and caring ponies that looked out for one another. However, Skywing was no ordinary pony, nor was he from the island he would eventually leave a mark upon. He was not even from the planet that most would expect a creature like him to be on, but from one that was thousands of miles away from the one dominated by equines. It composed of a glorious race that just like him, in more ways than one. One that were the very definition of powerful warriors and fighters of the whole universe, built to protect and preserve all that came in contact with them. At least, that was what was what his race used to do, before an unseen force came and destroyed everything he worked for. He fought with all his might to protect what he believed in and those he held dear, but, in the end, it was all for naught. Skywing was then cast out of the very planet he ruled, leaving his brethren to suffer under the hands of their new predecessors.
Shortly after his exile from his sacred home planet, Skywing found himself settling in on a quaint little island, starting off with a clean slate. But this island was not like most of the islands found out in the Four Seas in which he landed upon. Nor did it have just some quaint little town or village that had your typical everyday creatures. No, it was an island unlike no other that caught the eye of all that saw it. One that was said to be the freest island to ever dot the map of Equis and the seas it held. This island was known as the one of Freespirit, a land where any and all creatures could be free with nothing to stop them from being such. It was said to hold riches, goods and wilderness that was just as free as the island itself, ripe for the taking. A haven for any that loved the beauty and secrets of nature, and the one that created it. It was a place where anyone with a desire for freedom and adventure could find themselves resigning within. A place where one can be and feel free more than anywhere else in the world. So much so that no other place would be able to give them such freedom again.
It was also the place where the future Pirate King’s adventure would begin. An adventure that would set the course to an unforgettable history.
As with any creature on Freespirit, Skywing’s life was like that of every creature that lived on an island representing freedom. A life full of fun, wonder and adventure beyond what his young mind could comprehend. Blissfully unaware of the trials that would soon come in his life, or the villains living in the sea he lived upon that he would soon meet. Like with all souls, curiosity can tend to be peeked and Skywing found his own doing so when was inevitably exposed to the darkness of the new world around him. That darkness coming in the form of the very ponies he was advised to stay away from and never become. Try as some might, such advice did not work on a spirit like Skywing’s, and he found himself amazed and in awe of the countless tales he learned about the pirates. Of the life-threatening hurdles that not only helped to shape who they currently were, but gave them the love of adventure that all pirates seeked. Skywing continued to try to learn more about the pirates of the seas and how they came to rise. He researched, learned and gathered as much facts as he could about the pirates and what they truly represented in the sea. To find another side of them other than the ugly side they held and displayed. He went on a discovery how and why they conquered the sea and sailed it in the first place and what drove them to such a life at all. Eventually, Skywing set out into waters he never went into, accompanied by the few that would follow him by his side. To achieve new the life he always wanted to live, and regain what he had lost so long ago.
From then on, the remaining amount of Skywing’s life was full of the adventure that he always dreamt of having, sharing it all that would join him. He sailed across the deep blue surface of the waters, seeing new sights that he never thought he’d see, and met others he never thought he’d meet. He came across creatures that he only saw in stories and in tales rather than in real life, never believing that he'd actually get the chance to see them with his own two eyes. Those that weren’t ponies like him, soon became a part of his crew. Thus, making it one where all creatures known worldwide became united as one, treated equally regardless of race. Even those that did not become a part of the crew still became his allies and gave him their aid. Be it a pirate crew or any other famous group, it mattered not. For they could not help themselves when it came to a stallion like Skywing Ocean Heart Shenron himself.
Together, they conquered island after island, and gained territory after territory, leaving their mark on them in some way or another. They worked together in defeating any foes that laid in their path and kept them from continuing on their never-ending quest for freedom, adventure and challenge. Skywing even lead his crew to doing this that only those with moral value would do, making them all be painted in a new light despite their heritage. They even went as far as helping some others see that while they may be pirates, they had goodness in their hearts and were only being themselves. That all they wanted more than anything else in the world was to do what they wanted, when they wanted to do it. Without anyone telling them how they should do it or the way it should be done. And not let anything or anyone take that away from them, all while fighting against those that dared try to.
Through his adventures Skywing gained all the things that so many others wanted to obtain in life. Even if they already had it themselves, but wanted more than what they had. Wealth, fame, power, respect, love, inspiration, popularity, the list went on. All else that the world had to offer to him and his crew they took with open arms and open hearts. This included the one thing that all pirate or otherwise, dreamed and fought to obtain. Something that ultimately lead to Skywing sailing out to sea at all in the first place, other than his want for freedom and thrills. It was the one treasure that led him to be the greatest known pirate in all of the land and the sea. One that was sure to be remembered and held in others eyes no matter how many other generations passed. It also this treasure that led to Skywing eventually being taken down by those that wielded justice as their blade, and heroism as their shield. The very same heroes that took the Pirate King down after so many years of living in the very sea that he was named after and matched the size of his heart.
Like any typical pirate, Skywing did not back down from the challenge, having come to live for them since starting his pirate career. It led him to put up a fight so incredible that he even gained the respect of the ones trained to catch him. Regardless, he was still an enemy in the eyes of the law, and the government. Even if they no longer saw him as some unruly criminal who deserved no pity from his predecessors. He was someone that had to be brought down and punished for the crimes he committed in his time in the very sea he mastered. Least he continued to spread his influence and drive more creatures like him out into the sea. It was something the heroes of the sea could and would not allow. Not as long as Skywing was still alive and breathing air into his scaly lungs. Or else the reign of the pirates would never end and be erased from history so peace could grow. Sadly, they would not succeed in this attempt to permanently rid the masters of the waters, for Skywing had other ideas.
All that Skywing had known and met, old and new, were there to witness his inevitable, yet unforgettable passing. It would be on the very island where his adventure began, and where it would now end in front all who he had touched. Many came to see the death of the greatest pony that ever lived, and the stallion that inspired so many to follow their love for adventure and freedom and their dreams. Against all expectations, even those that were his enemies during his time at sea showed up to his execution as well, having given Skywing their respect. But not as some lowly pirate, but as a pony and a worthy foe. It was the least they felt they could do for him, since he proved himself a worthy adversary in their eyes. One that proved to others time and time again that he was not one to be messed with.
As he drew his final breaths from his body, Skywing sat where he was, looking out to all the creatures that came to see him off. Many who’s lives he had changed for the better, including that of his beloved crew. Just before his soul was released into the mercy of the gods above, Skywing was asked the one fateful question. A question that he hoped would eventually be asked, and the answer he gave would bring forth the greatest era that ever lived.
"You hatchlings want my treasure?! Well then, feel free to take every single bit for yourself! I've hid every last bit on a single island! All you have to do is find it now!"
Skywing's life was taken immediately after these words were said, allowing his soul to ascend into the very sky he flew upon. But the damage had been done all the same, and those that cut him down were too late to fix it or stop it. With his parting words, countless souls, pony or otherwise, began to venture out into the ocean of deceased dead king, their suspicions of his treasure now confirmed. They left behind the lives they had on their homelands in search for something greater than anything else they ever had, bringing forth a new era. This era grew to be known as the Era of Pirates. An Era that would stretch on for endless years to come. An Era that would soon have one other soul joining it in the endless adventure of discovery and opportunity. One that will unknowingly change the fate of the world in ways that wereneverthought possible before.
