Return of the Toad in the Hole in the Road
There may have been a tennis game...
Load Full StoryMuch like the previous story, it was a day in Manteo. There was a spring in the air.
BOING!
Anyways, the weather had decided, for reasons best known unto itself, to be cold, with the air being cold and somewhere in that strange temperature system that the Americans insist on using (who thought 32 should be freezing? Silly). Anyhoozle, the weather was in the place of finding itself at somewhere in the 20 range, and the wind chill is reducing it to the 20's. Anyway, the wind speed is estimated to have been at somewhere at either 20 miles per hour or 32 kilometers per hour. It's a cold day, thought Jimmy, as he went along-

Wow, Sunset, your angry.
"It's you're angry. You're is short for 'you are'."
I see. Well, many of the authors on this site don't seem to understand this concept. Let me go and fix the typos, tense swaps, and nonsensical dialogue.

"It is a cold day," thought Jimmy, as he went along the street. The town was turned out for a competition of some sort. The towns of Manteo and Kill Devil Hills were competing, in tennis. The two town's respective schools had decided to put forward their tennis teams to compete. In the snow. For some stupid reason.
Anyway, Jimmy took his place on the bleachers. He was an ex Manteo High School student, and had attended most sport games in the glory days. The old days. Those were nice.
As he entered the grounds, he saw Mrs. Taverton prodding the ground with a stick. "What's going on?" he asked.
"We're taking precautions," she replied, as her hat got hit by another pile of snow. "Snow, you see, appearing without warning."
"Well, it seems to have settled!" Jimmy replied. "Course, Alabama got some insane snow!"
"However did it get so cold?" asked PC Cromford, who was overseeing security for the game. Since the Great Disaster, the town's police budget had been escalated dramatically.
"Beats me." Jimmy took his seat, and relaxed with a hot dog which had appeared without warning.
"Good afternoon!" said Reverend Naseby, sitting next to him. "How did you handle the Toad in the Hole in the Road?"

Ribbit.
"That joke's getting old," Jimmy sighed. "It didn't cause me that much trouble. But then again, I just went around it."
"That's a relief," Pat smiled, as he took his seat. "My Julian's playing for Manteo. Let's hope it's a good game: I've been told that First Flight have really stepped up their game this year after getting trounced by Manteo last year."
The anthem played, and the patriotism played up, with some less than suitable rock music, the game finally got underway, and there were many ties flying about.
"Who is throwing all these ties about?" asked Mr. Cromwell.
"Beats me!" Reverend Naseby reply.
"Your English is slipping again!"
Sorry, Sunset. I'll correct it.
"Beats me!" Reverend Naseby replied. "The two tennis teams are having a good show of it, though!"
The tennis ball was bouncing back and forth with great speed and furiousness.
"Me," Jimmy said, "looking at the score, see that the Manteo team only need to land one more score in order to win the game at 30 to 30."
"Are you Jar Jar Binks today?" asked Pat. "Because if we remove the middle bit, you said 'me see that the Manteo team only need to land one more score in order to win the game at 30 to 30'."
"Whatever," Jimmy replied. "You know what for of I meant."
"Good Heavens," said Mr. Crompton. "His English is terrible."
Manteo sent the ball towards First Flight, who batted it back, Manteo attempting to retaliate. One of the players on the Manteo suddenly screamed.
"Look!" she cried. "We need to get out of here!"
Lumbering out of the treeline, looking very cross, was the Toad in the Hole in the Road.

Ribbit.
Such was the confusion caused by the Toad in the Hole in the Road-

Ribbit.
-that the Manteo team forgot all about the ball, as it seemed the Toad in the Hole in the Road-

Ribbit.
This is getting silly.
-was intent on eating the other team. The ball flew through the air and with a deafening crash slammed into Jimmy. The force was so great a blue blast echoed throughout the area, and he was thrown through the air and into a concession stand, where he found himself face to face with a mirror.
"Why did he fly through the air?" PC Cromford asked. "Things only seem to happen to him."
"Plot contrivance, I suspect," Reverend Naseby sighed. "Now then, about this Toad in the Hole in the Road."

Ribbit.
Such an explosive impact of force should have blown a hole in Jimmy's head. But as he awakened forth and looked at himself in the mirror of mirrors (for ever, and ever) it occurred to him with suddenly that his glasses were gone and no trace of an injury could be present upon his face of faceness.
And then the usual happened, because this is a Jimmy story and they are ultra predictable.
His shirt changed length and morphed into some sort of weird white dress that only ran forth to his top of his thighs. This dress also had a Tennis ball symbol on it. The sleeves, now noticeably shorter, were dark green instead, as were the shorts that were attached to his legs. His shoes changed into sealed boots, and then grew up his legs to become high tops (this franchise has a weird obsession with high tops). He also gained two white wristbands near his hands (Callback to Mystery Mint maybe?)
Shortly after, the various biological features attached to him switched as well. His eyes gained a light green tone, complemented by peachish skin, and a mess of short green hair and dark green patches inside the short green hair (which was short, as was not normally the case). Per usual, his shoulders contracted and his hips widened, and his manhood vanished as suddenly as a pair of breasts exploded out of her chest. And of course, her face reshaped to gain that of Tennis Match for the finishing touches.
Tennis Match suddenly teleported to CHS, cause why the hell not, and suddenly found herself in a locker room. A girl was standing there, and looked at Tennis Match.
"Hurry up Tennis Match! You need to be changed into your Tennis outfit! We are up against Crystal Prep Academy again and we need to beat them and win for real unlike the last time we lost to them at Tennis."
"Punctuation is your friend," Tennis Match replied. "Relax. Don't worry Mystery Mint, I'll make sure I'm ready." As the other girl vanished, Tennis Match thought to herself. "I hope we can beat them, besides... we got the support and cheer of the Wondercolts in the stands for us."
The tennis racket sounded like it had no reason.
"What does that mean? WHAT does that sentence mean? 'The tennis racket sounded like it had no reason. Nine words that make no sense when you put them together!"
Sheesh, Sunset. Calm down.
