Celestia looked out to the north as dark colors or despair and sorrow flow across the sky, tainting it with darkness. She had sent her student to the frozen north almost immediately after the crystal empire had reappeared. Her mind played out the scene over and over about how the most unexpected circumstance would catch the tyrant queen off guard and blindside her. The colors prove the contrary and now Celestia is left with but one option. She must summon a warrior from another world to defeat the queen, and prey they will not make this decision a regretful one. Taking eyes away from the window, she headed down to the lower chambers to the crystal caves, where Chrysalis had sent Twilight during the wedding after using her obvious hints and naive guests to make Twilight oust herself. It was a clever plan that fell apart when Twilight helped Cadence and Shining Armor use their love to banish the threat.
Since then, Celestia has been slowly powering the crystals in the chamber with help from her sister and several powerful unicorns. The purpose was to use it as a last resort weapon with magic seals to amplify the magic power or as a summoning circle to call a warrior from another world. This would only work if the world possessed magic or the closest equal and its inhabitants held the same power within. They were looking for someone with the power to fight against Umbra herself, her power and all she embodied and stood for would be part of it. Luna met up with her sister as they entered the caves. The mages were already at work getting the runes ready to summon one being through.
"Sister," started Luna with concern, "is there really no other option?"
Celestia hung her head. "If there were one that could end this immediately, I wouldn't be resorting to this." She looked to the highest level as the mages started giving the thumbs up. "We have no immediately positive options and running on little time." She looked over a presented board of the seals and nodded as they were finalizing another. "But right now, we do not know when Umbra will start her campaign of conquest or how far she will go. So we have to act, even if it is out of fear."
"I still say this is too foolish and risky." Chimed Luna with a chaste tone. "You are placing your hopes in a warrior of some far away land on another world. If we summon something worse than Umbra... we may just best prepare for servitude." Luna's pessimistic attitude was justified as she recalls Celestia's absent process of thought.
Celestia wanted to chaste her sister for such poor attitude, though with the grim situation, being professional wasn't going to give or be much help. The mages soon were giving the thumbs up or calling out completed work. "Sister?" Luna begrudgingly agreed to the process and walked to the other side of the circle on the floor. Their horns lit up and Celestia was looking for someone with power while Luna was looked for someone with heart. Normally the higher forces would make such a combination for a find impossible, but one world offered such a combination, a world with spires that reached beyond the heavens or across the lands as they glowed a sinister yet vibrant color. The circles soon changed color after finding a lock and began to pull the individual to them.
A beam of intense light struck the circle beneath their feet and the shock wave pushed most onto their flanks. The princesses were weak in their knees for a bit but managed to straighten up. When they saw their guest, Luna recoiled. The creature was similar to them for the most part. The flatter face and lack of fur she could handle but the creature's glowing red eyes and irritated expression was another story. She, regardless of her knowledge of it, fired a light beam spell to ash what she assumed was a vampire. Said creature covered itself and was still there. Luna attempted use of a holy weapon when Celestia interfered. "Sister you know not what this is!"
"Maybe not be what choice do we have!" Chasted Celestia as the two sisters were now bickering actively in front of everyone present. It soon devolved into the same thing they fought about, how one sister was jealous and the other so big headed and on and on and on. It was startling enough that the creature said some words Luna had not expected.
"Um... pardon me." The fighting stopped abruptly and the two sisters just looked at the creature, who's eyes were no longer shining blood red. They instead held a vibrant emerald shade which complimented his flared, dark blonde hair. His attire was a fair yet defiant blend of leather, cotton and a manner of tougher fabric lining the bottoms. The die was also surprising, holding more to dark blues and browns with red tubes garnishing the top and coat. "Is there a reason I'm... dreaming?"
Luna collected herself the quickest. "Pardon my outburst. I had assumed you were violent."
"Oh, the eyes. Don't worry. Many Revenants' eyes glow red when agitated. It's akin to intimidation." The Revenant explained in detail and with astute manner Luna was still not expecting. "So if I may ask...?"
Celestia was the next to straighten up and take the spotlight. "Right. My name is Celestia, princess of the day and co-ruler of Equestria."
"I am Luna. Co-ruler of Equestria and princess of the night. My apologies for earlier." She bowed respectfully with humble.
"A pleasure. I am Sol Acero, holder of the Queen Slayer code and Revenant of the old humanity." The sisters' jaws dropped at 'Queen Slayer', assuming that the higher powers delivered someone to kill the queen. Though anyone should know better than to assume anything, since names alone don't mean everything. "So... aside from this 'Equestria' why am I here?"
"We have summoned you for a most dire need." Began Celestia as Luna wanted to clarify his situation first. "A tyrant queen has taken my niece's kingdom and has begun enslaving the ponies there." Celestia would hope that would be enough to sway the foreign creature to their side.
"I am going to need details of this queen. I won't rush in blindly and risk my life willingly." Luna smiled at his words, smirking inwardly at her sister.
Luna stepped up next and spoke. "Umbra is a genuine queen and ruler of shadows, but her quest through darkness has made her a tyrant among her former subjects. She will attempt to use mind manipulation and trickery to weaken your defenses and then strike you once you are vulnerable, but she is, by no means, weak."
"A mind fucking queen that is not afraid to wield a sword. And minions may be an issue too. I still have my ax, but I will need a sword." Celestia presented one and he, with a blank face, swung the blade outward so hard the steel warped or cracked in several places. "A said a sword, not a prop." Celestia looked offended while Luna was trying her best to prevent herself from laughing. "Seems the threat will have to wait for a bit. I need to educate you on how a sword is properly made."
Sol was then allowed, though with limited time, to instruct the unicorns and earth ponies to make a blade that he calls proper. He asked for a tall vat of crude oil, salt, baking soda and 30 swords. He had every handle on every sword dismantled and stray wood stripped from the tang and grabbed a hammer, instructing the earth equines to do the same. He then instructed the fire specialized mages to heat the metal in a near enclosed spaced until the metal was hot and glowing brightly. This did not take long and he instructed the earth ponies to help him pound the metal down into a single piece. Celestia was looking at this with miffed distrust while Luna watched in fascination as the metal was heated, beaten down until it was too cool to mold, heated and beaten again. All the while the Revenant poured his mix of the salt and baking soda on the heated metal periodically. It was his closest estimate to borax since he needed to get as much air out of the metal as possible during the process.
Next, he instructed the ponies to help him fold the steel and Celestia almost lost her temper before Luna stepped in. "He likely knows how little time he has, but even you should know he needs more than one effective weapon. So not a word." Celestia sat down as she begrudgingly witnessed the ponies help this creature bent the steel form several times, each having the baking salt mix applied during the folding process. The large steel then had a tang drawn out and then it was beaten to form with only one actual edge for slicing. It was dipped in the cool crude oil and suspended as he looked outside to see if the territory was expanding.
Soon he pulled the sword out while it was still steaming and checked straightness. He then requested a magically constructed kiln to heat treat the blade and applied a thick clay along the back as it was being heated. The mages held a high temperature until he put the blade in and it was sealed. In the mean time he asked a pair of pegasi for a quick task. Celestia intervened after they left. "Why are you wasting time?!"
"I know how tedious the process is. That is why I'm asking the ponies to find the fasted thing they got to drop me in Umbra's territory. They get me within her territory, drop me and leave. Once the blade is done and attached to an apparatus to save time, I set out." Celestia was soon kicking herself in the teeth for the summon they got, but she was a little relieved that the job would be over one way or another.
And hour had passed and the sword was taken out. It was straight and treated but had no edge. "This'll do for now. Even if it can't cut." He then put the pins in the holes along the blade, attaching it to an apparatus as he pinged the pins to a seamless finish. "This will be the basis for more swords if needed." He stood up and two pegasi were waiting for him and they took him to an enclosed carriage, leaving the princesses in the room.
"Still think this was a good idea sister?" Luna's question was not answered though she smirked, knowing full well that the creature had a much better chance of success now that he was prepared. The only thing left was to wait for his return or for word of his success.
While this entire affair was taking place, Umbra was having some ponies put on a theater show, smiling at how they were prepared to humiliate themselves just to preserve their own lives. The current play was her overthrowing the pink alicorn by grabbing the crystal heart back from her magic. The dragon was the one entity in her plans she had not accounted for, but she had special plans for him should he step out of line.
The mane six glared daggers at the dark queen, to which she chuckled as she found amusement in their false courage. "Laugh all you want. The princess will not let you get away with this evil." Twilight's words were met with a shiver going down her back and a yelp as it grazed her flower. "What are you doing?!"
The queen chuckled suggestively. "Just having some fun to pass the time while theater takes place. I like a good play but I do get bored easily." As the play continued, the air was overtaken by a flash of light from outside. Umbra looked through the helm of one of her drones to see the source coming from Canterlot and the light died down as it came from the sky. She stroked her chin in thought. 'Curious. The princesses had something that could've been a weapon. Risking their main means of defense isn't their style, but neither is destroying their own capital. The only thing I can deduce..." She seemed to have gotten an accurate thought and smiled widely.
"What are you smiling for huh? Want to fight?! I'll fight ya!" Umbra just shoved the pegasus to the back of her cell with magic and grinned.
"You're princess' have summoned a warrior from another world it would seem. The light was in Canterlot but no where else. So I will wait for their soldier and win." The girls held onto their hope in the otherworlder as Spike just pray that the warrior would win against Umbra, no matter what.
Umbra's drones surveyed and patrolled the grounds on their given orders, leaving obvious cracks in the routes to let the alien sneak its way in then box them with guards. It's an old move, but very effective. If the warrior deliberately takes their time, she can then send out her other drones with the same helmet they wear to bring it under her control. If all else fails, she can use the warrior's fatigue and weakened mind to assault their psyche with dark images of their failures. The only other means of victor is a dirty duel by means of poison or slitting the neck. The dark queen continued to smirk in a manor that was creeping everyone out, like a child that was happily pulling heads off toys.
So she waited, ever so patiently for her new prey to walk right onto her palm before she plays with it. She had so much time planning counters and traps that she was soon bored of the plans and just plain waited. The ponies fell asleep and a few drones were put to sleep with a few still online to keep watch. Soon enough a pair of pegasi were seen in the air before they unhitched their cargo and let it drop. She then activated one of her closer drones and sent it out. It got close to the container before the feed went to static, causing a temporary headache for Umbra as she sent her closer drones to investigate, leaving the open holes and sending out a few guards with helms to both catch the intruder with one and replace the ones that were damaged.
Within minutes, the drones were in sight of the opened cargo when their feeds went dead. Umbra started leaving patrols out to catch the intruder or let it in, hoping that she would not have to resort to her latter backups. This proved difficult as the sound of a large crack made her use the four closest drones to investigate when the feeds went dead. Sending the closest drone was met with her seeing an arrow coming toward the helm's side before that feed went dead. Another troop was investigating a loud popping sound when Umbra caught a flash of crimson eyes slightly illuminating a flatter face, covered by a mask with a design she hadn't seen before in her centuries of life. This creature was on a hunt, and she was the big game prey.
She started calling the drones back before their vision was obscured by a bright light and all of their feeds were cut in a short moment. She was conflicted with the situation thus far. She was excited that something from another world could plan while in the field and maybe adapt strategies mid planning but this was also infuriating because she had to make new helmets quick for any sort of backup, never mind her thoughts going to lewder territory at the worse time as her nethers began to moisten against her will. She looked to her one loyal guard and gave the pony the green light to fight the intruder.

That is when she saw his weapons. His sword was uniquely constructed as it suspended the blade and tang by an apparatus which acted as the handle. The ax was thoroughly constructed with durability in mind and that is when she saw his top be enveloped by a red mist and change from what appeared to be a side cape to a coat that was draped on his shoulders and clasped by a chain, leaving the sleeves open.
The guard charged using magic as a booster and she brought her halberd around. Sol blocked it with the ax handle, meeting the stock of the offending weapon. The guard used her momentum to bring her leg around and it met his head but there was no give, like hitting an iron wall. She looked and saw he took the kick without flinching as he smirked at her. The gaze was enough for her to back off before he turned into a smoke and vanished. In reality, his physical presence was spread thin enough it created the illusion of invisibility and he used that to quickly move behind her, regaining his body and striking her spine with enough force to make her black out. It was a short fight, but Sol wanted to preserve his stamina for the fight with Umbra.
Meanwhile, Umbra was preparing mental destruction spells to stall the intruder and reclaim her power over the kingdom. The element bearers had been moved out of the throne room as she prepared her traps. The sound of combat between the invader and the guard was heard as she worked as much as she could before donning her armor and weapons. After the last major trap was set, she awaited her guard or her opponent. She then heard the fight turn to silence and patiently awaited for the door to open. 'Fucking beast. Stop blue balling me and open that door you imitating shit stain.' Umbra's anxious perception was met with the door being shoved open, making her jumps to her feet as she steeled herself. The creature walked in and the first trap cast throughout the room activated and she smiled as it stopped.
Getting a better look, he was well toned for a creature that looked a little on the thin side, with sharp eyes that seemed to cut through her for a moment and luscious dark blonde lock of long, silky hair that had seen some damage, making them look a fair bit tattered. He was adorable and handsome given his stature. As she approached him, his eyes opened again, bright crimson showing through without the green sclara or purple mist. Umbra backed up, feigning fear as he began to walk again and stopped just shy of another trap. "You are Umbra, correct." His voice was average, but the tone was sharp, cutting through any unwanted emotion as he addressed her directly.
Finally, she answered. "I am. Queen Umbra, ruler of the crystal empire and wielder of shadows." He was equally surprised by her voice. It was mature and smooth yet strong and unyielding much like how many males like himself imagined a strong, grown woman would sound. "And you are trespassing on my grounds."
He bowed slightly. "Forgive my intrusion, but I was told you are a tyrant and therefor I feel obligated to defeat you. So how about a duel and a wager." She looked at him with surprise before smirking evilly, requesting for his terms. "You win, and I lend my services to you. I win, and you, as this kingdom's first ruler or whatever, name me its king." Umbra just stared in shock at this creature's brazen terms. On one hand she was actually giggling internally while on the other she was steaming mad. She was caught between odds with this creature but decided to accept the terms and fight dirty. With a simple nod, the creature cast his top to the side as well as his weapons. "No weapons, no Icor, no special tools. We fight with our bodies. Umbra liked the arrangement more than she should.
'This beast is making me wet. Just you wait creature, your first service will be to pleasure my dripping sex when this is over.' With her inhibitor on, the queen held up a finger and took the time to destroy the traps she made, actually excited to fight the creature bare handed. He smiled and used his closest weapon to destroy the one closest to him. Once the traps we gone, Umbra charged him. He cast his weapon aside as the two struck out, striking each other's face. Sol gave no rest and punched her in the gut, almost ruining the thin armor as she just opted to strip out of the plating, leaving her in treated leather and fitted clothing. She brought a leg around in a roundhouse and Sol met it by raising his leg and folding his arm with it, joining the knee and elbow in a block as he dropped in a forward stance with another punch to the gut. Umbra braced and felt the full impact. She had taken strong blows but this was more her style, something that got her blood going. She was learning her fights and pain tolerance all over at a great pace.
She got to close to counter and struck upward into Sol's chin. He met the punch to keep grounded and grabbed her arm, throwing her to the ground and pining the arm to her back. Using her horn, she struck his head with the point and the unexpected attack made Sol flinch. Using this opportunity, she regained her position and pined Sol by his neck. Using his superior strength, he lifted the both of them off the floor and followed the hold to her elbow and threw themselves up, landing them both on their feat, much to the queen's shock. Umbra then started fighting dirty and cupped his balls before she got punched in her breasts. 'FUCK MY TIT! Holding her breathing and looking out for the creature, Umbra saw him quickly close the distance and lie down, thrusting her leg into his shin, tripping him up.
He tumbled for a second and Umbra was breathing right again as the two got to their feet. She smiled in twisted joy as she charged him again. He dodged to the side, slapping her ass and making yelp before she felt his arm around her neck, She was taller than him and broader by extent but he held the superior strength of the two. She moved her elbow around to hit him and got a couple hits in before he knocked her knees from behind, making her kneel as he pulled back, giving her elbows less impact. Before the fight could be called by either of them, he was struck in the head, causing him to lose his grip and his senses to be distorted before using some icor from a differen code to forcibly straighten up before switching back and lashing out at the offending party with a savage uppercut and turning back to be prepared for Umbra, who was still on the ground, breathing hard with a look of genuine satisfaction as she looked to the Revenant before she looked afraid. Closing her eyes in defiance, she got to her knees and hung her head. "What is your first order?"
Sol blinked blankly as he reeled in confusion. "Huh?"
"You have won the match... you are k--king. So w-what is your first order?" Umbra couldn't look this creature in the eye out of shame.
Sol sighed heavily and thought. "Well, first orders are to free the slaves and get to work rebuilding the empire. After that we'll need something to calm the restless storm outside, then I decide whether or not to keep the throne." Umbra looked up and he noticed this after a few seconds. "What?"
"What do you mean 'what?'?!" She yelled. "No asking for my body, demanding I serve you or-" She was interrupted with a light chop to her head as she saw the deadpanned expression on Sol's face.
"Look me in the eye and call me your king." Umbra opened her mouth, but she looked away, closing her eyes to look tough. "Thought so. You're afraid. Magic or no magic, it took a guard of yours to have the chance to beat me. You're scared." He rest a hand on her shoulder, the soft touch catching her attention. "And there is no reason for me to scare or scar you. You suffered enough with the fight and terms of the duel. I will not make you my servant, of any kind. Not unless it's for your betterment of character."
Umbra pulled away, angry at him. "Betterment?! I enslaved an entire empire of my kin! I made the male drone please me for my own release, which failed! I tormented the minds of my kingdom! So why are you not making me submit if you now hold the right to?!"
"I was simply told to stop you." Umbra's eyes widened in shock. "How I stopped you was entirely up to me. You don't like it, you can piss off or die. It makes no difference to me. Keep that ring on your horn and serve your kingdom as a common pony. I don't care. My job is done, but this kingdom needs help getting back in order." Umbra's mouth was wide open as she tried to identify his reason for his methods, only to grow frustrated. "While we're on how you can better yourself, you said you had no release for some time, until now I assume." Umbra blushed under her coat and pouted as her cheeks puffed out. "Then how about this for an order for you." She froze in fear at his next command. "Find a room for us to use and garments that you will be comfortable in." She looked at him, again in shock and surprise. "If I plan on helping your pent up frustration, I may just have to make sweet love and rough sex with you." "It's happened before, to my displeasure. My friends turn, I fight them, I get strong, they get weak, rinse and repeat." He chuckled. "I really brought down the mood."

Cadence was already trying to argue the notion of his logic and he fired back saying that sealing her or destroying her would be met with someone bringing her back over and over and one may try and make her a slave for their pleasures and fuel her rage. The back and forth continued until she spoke up.
"Um... excuse me." Everyone looked at her being polite. "Is there a way that the method of his summon can be done in reverse?" Cadence started trying to talk Sol out of what she considered hid delusion until she felt something from Umbra, just the smallest yet strongest feeling of affection for the revenant.
Later that day, and against all of their better wishes. the now dressed Umbra was taken to Canterlot and the situation was adressed to Celestia. "I admit, this is not what I had in mind, but the situation has been dealt with as asked." She said in congratulations. "As for sending you home, since the summoning took you from your world, sending you back shouldn't be a problem, though it will still take a great deal of magic. We will prepare a return spell immediately to send you on your way post haste."
After the princess left, Umbra spoke up. "Sol?" The human looked to her, a curious look on his face. "Will I really fit in? Will I be okay? Will you still.... stay with me?"
He smiled, bringing her into a hug and he kissed her horn, which had the ring removed for her to use her magic with the others. "I won our duel, made love to you and said I'd be there for you. It may be too early to call it love, but it is still a fresh beginning for you, Umbra." The former queen blushed, being addressed so affectionately before they made way to the crystal caves. The princesses were already casting the circle and the two entered as Umbra poured her magic into the spell to give it a boost internally. "Ready to see my world?" She nodded and in a bright flash of light, the two were sent away.
Umbra woke up and saw her body was devoid of hair, her skin was a dark complexion and she was still in her clothes. "Sol? Where...?"
"Right here?" She turned and saw he remained the same. "Nice look, by the way." He held up a mirror and she got a good look at her self. Her face was flatter, like his, slightly rounded at the bottom and had sharp eyes. Her irises had turned from the deep red to a brilliant green and her hair was messy just like her mane. Before anything else happened she heard a groan and saw a hunch creature with a blade as Sol drew his own. "Welcome to Earth, Umbra. Think you'll like it."
She just smiled, picking up the closest weapon to her her thoughts saying something she never would have under any other circumstance. 'I will walk in ash and dust with you, my vampire.'
