Fluttershy ducked behind a house, and took several deep breaths. She had lost him this time, she was sure of it.

Fifteen minutes later, and the edge of Everfree forest was on the horizon. It had enough types of terrain that she could elude him in there for sure. Not to mention how dangerous it would be for him.
She smiled, it felt like a weight had been lifted from her. This was her chance. She pressed on, getting tired after being on the run all day. Not to mention her blasted heat distracting her the whole time. Which was the root of the problem anyway.
The wind changed direction, and her nose flared. Fluttershy spun around to see him patiently jogging towards her, showing no signs of fatigue. He had caught up, and knew exactly where she was now, and probably how she planned to lose him.
The only chance she had was to make it into the forest with enough of a lead to lose him for good. She galloped away.
“Why must you run, sweetie? You know how this ends. It's inevitable.”
A shiver went up her spine as she braved the trees. She ignored it, and pressed on.
Working her way through the forest, it was slowly dawning on Fluttershy this may have been a bad idea. The trees and undergrowth stopped her from moving quickly, and until she could find one of the few paths through it, or the river, she would have to slowly wind her way around the plants.
She just wanted to stop and rest.
No! She shook her head and continued trotting forward. She would make it to the river, she would go up stream for a ways, then take to the air and head back home. The canopy would keep him from seeing her, and he’d be chasing her ghost through the forest until this was all a moot poin-
A tree root interrupted her plans, and her step, sending Fluttershy to the ground in a heap.

Persistence hunting is the theory that early humans used their superior endurance compared to most other animals to chase them down until they were exhausted and helpless. The reality is that this probably didn't happen very often, but humans do have a lot more endurance than most hoofed animals and we can keep up and eventually bring them down when they get tired. So my co-writer (who wishes to remain anonymous) and I decided to play with this idea for a short bit of smut. Yes, the human in this is intended to be Andrew Shepherd but you don't need to read any of the stories involving him to enjoy this. Which I hope you did.
