A small white unicorn filly that could be no older than eight years old was currently running at full speed from a butcher. She had just stolen some food from him. They were in one of the slum areas of Canterlot. "Get back here you!" The butcher shouted, carrying a knife.
The filly just stuck her tongue out at him and jumped on to a fruit stand and jumped onto a roof. She scaled a couple walls before jumping from roof to roof until she made it to the upper ring. "Catch me now, fatass!!" She taunted, flipping him off.
"You thieving little shit!" He screamed, throwing the knife at her, missing by a mile.
She just laughed at him and jumped away to the other side of the wall. He glared at her before screaming in rage. He turned around and headed back to his shop. n
The filly ran down the street. having scaled the ring wall separating the slums from here, she was now in the middle class residential area. She ran over to the empty cellar she and her companion were staying in. "Tavi! I scored big this time, Sis!"
Octavia looks up weakly "you did?" Her ribs where showing as she laid down on the ground.
"Yeah! I got all kinds of meat and stuff. I even got that Fat Ass's already made lunch! Hope you're hungry Tavi." Vinyl said as she place down the rather giant sack of food she had. She placed 3 burgers on a plate before Octavia.
Octavia smiles and picks up the burger and starts eating it moaning "so good~" She practically cried as she ate. Vinyl smiled at Octavia as she began to help her weak sister eat. Octavia slowly ate the burger as her sister helped her.
"There we go...nice and easy..." Vinyl said softly as she gently rubbed Octavia's back.
Octavia chuckled and gave Vinyl a look. "You need to eat to, Vi...." She told her.
"I'm fine, Tavi. Worry about getting your strength up." Vinyl said dismissively.
"Vinyl. Eat a burger." Octavia ordered, glaring at her sister, pushing the plate into the alabaster unicorn's lap.
"....Yes Ma'am." Vinyl relented with a sheepish look.
Octavia smiled approvingly at Vinyl and hugged her. Vinyl blushed as she hugged her back and ate. After a little while, the two fillies were finished eating the burgers. Vinyl had started a fire for warmth and for cooking the rest of the meat she had stolen from the butcher. Vinyl walked back to Octavia after a few minutes and placed her hands on her hip and shoulder. "You ready to try again?" Vinyl asked her gently.
Octavia took a few deep breaths and nodded. Vinyl gave her a sympathetic look and helped her to her feet. Octavia stumbled a bit but managed to stand. "Alright, let's try to take ten steps, Tavi," Vinyl said gently, supporting Octavia's body with her own.
Octavia managed to take six steps before she collapsed. Thankfully Vinyl was there to catch her before she fell to the ground. "Are you okay?" Vinyl asked her.
Octavia was on the verge of tears from frustration at the state of her body. "No!" she replied, holding onto Vinyl.
Vinyl sighed as she gently soothed her sister's body. "That's it. I'm going to do it tonight. No ifs ands or buts. If I can do it, I'll have the means to fix you!"
"Vinyl, please no." Octavia said worriedly.
"We don't have any choice! If I can get just a bit of their magic healing stuff, I can fix you!" Vinyl said as she petted Octavia's head.
"Vinyl please!" Octavia begged.
"Tavi, I have no choice." Vinyl sighed.
"Dont steal....ask them... please.."
"They'll never give me anything. I've tried asking people before, but they always refused. You remember when I came back beaten half to death?" Vinyl pointed out, standing up and pacing around the cellar.
"But they're musicians, Vinyl. Please. Just ask for my sake." Octavia said, giving Vinyl her patented puppy eyes.
"I....I....Alright. for you." Vinyl relented coming back over to Octavia and hugging her.
"Thank you " Octavia replies and nuzzled Vinyl. Vinyl nuzzled her back.
"I'll be right back. Help yourself to the food." Vinyl said as she stood up once more. She tied her mane in a ponytail.
Octavia lets out a soft giggle "you look ridiculous like that."
"Yeah yeah." Vinyl said as she slipped on a black jumpsuit she had taken from a shop a few weeks ago.
Octavia waves goodbye to Vinyl as she eats the hot dog Vinyl had made for her a few minutes ago.
An hour or so later, Vinyl arrived at the gated mansion of Songbird Serenade and Countess Coloratura. It was pretty much more of a gated community than a Mansion. She scaled the gate and made her way inland. There were armed guards patrolling the estate, and they were more vigilant that any Vinyl had snuck past before.
"Why do they have armed guards?" Vinyl said to herself. "And such good ones too. these guys are no joke!" she whispered to herself as she scaled the roofs of the estates. "Medical section, medical section, where is the medical section?" She said to herself.
She then remembered she promised Octavia to ask, and sighed to herself. She jumped down and made her way to the main Mansion.
"Little filly. I commend you in making it past my guards, but I must request that you leave the estate." A mare says from behind her.
Vinyl eeped and turned around. She came face to knee of a tall woman in a butler's uniform. Her coat was a dark blue and her mane was black with white streaks here and there. The mare looked down at her, an annoyed look in her face, "...well? Are you going to leave or do I need to call the guard?"
Vinyl pulled out a gun, shakily pointing it at her. "P-please...I j-just need to talk to the heads of the estates..."
The mare plucked the gun out of her shaking hand, "There's no need for that. And my Mistresses are sleeping and do not wish to be disturbed."
Vinyl took a shaky step back. "Please...I just need some stuff to heal my sister.....just let me get that and I'll leave..."
"Whatever rumors you've heard they aren't true. Mistress Rara was not gifted a bottle of water from the fountain of youth by Daring Doo. No matter how much the tabloids insist she did."
"I don't care about that! I know about the beans that cure undernourishment! The Senzu beans or whatever! I just need one or two!"
"Those aren't real either!" the mare insists.
"Don't lie to me! " vinyl cried
"Look kid!" the mare says, grabbing Vinyl, "We don't have any mystical magical healing beans! If we did, do you really think Mistress would be so selfish to keep them to herself?!"
"I wouldn't know! Because every time I came here to ask to talk to her about getting my sister healed one of your guards turned me away!!!" Vinyl shouted angrily.
"Why do you think I resorted to sneaking in to the home of my idols!?!?"
"I don't know! But my guards are told to turn everypony away!"
"Because of that, my sister could DIE any day now!!" Vinyl screamed.
"I'm sorry kid but I don't know what you want us to do!" the mare says, pinging another mare.
The door to the mansion opened and a changeling walked out. "Yes Jess?
"This kid snuck past the guards. Do me a favor and escort her out?" Jess said with a sigh.
"Yes ma'am," Shimmering said as she grabbed Vinyl.
"You heartless cunt!!!" Vinyl screamed at the top if her lungs. "My sister's blood will be on your hands!!!" She screamed, tears streaming down her face.
Shimmering looked towards Jess for advice.
"I can't give you something we don't have!" Jess shouted.
"So instead of trying to help her save her sister's life in some way that we do have, you're just gonna toss her out of my home." A fourth tired voice said from behind them all.
