Author's Note
This is probably one of the darkest stories I've done on fimfiction. I usually write cutesy wutesy stories here. This is the first time I've written something like this. Also, if you're wondering, I'm fine. I just needed this to vent my emotions, that's all.
Love is Painful
"It never changes..And It never will.."
Flusk leaned over a balcony high in the air as the shining moon greeted her in the sky, shining its light upon every inch of her coat and mane. She had her face leaned down so her eyes couldn't meet its bright light but she could still see the slight reflection in her eyes. Even its light couldn't ease her into a better mood, however. All she could feel was sadness and heartache. She hated feeling this way but what other way was there to feel?
An odd thought suddenly filled her mind as she backed up from the balcony, giving a lot of space in front of her. She scrunched her muzzle a little as she attempted to use her magic. Her horn began to fizz and glow purple as a few purple sparks came out of it and bounced on to the ground, disappearing after. Her hooves gripped on to the ground as she bent her legs a little, trying her hardest to harness her magic. Her magic had always been no better than a filly unicorn's and had times where it was at least at an average adult unicorn's level to one of a very weak filly unicorn. Her magic level was very low for her age and it always had been. It was some type of disorder with her magic that she had never really cared to see with a doctor about or why it happened. All she knew was she focused at the moment to try and get her magic to work with her..Just this once..Please.
She opened one eye to see purple sparkles starting to form outlines of two ponies. It was only outlined but it was making progress. She could see two heads beginning to form in front of each other and the body, the legs, even some cutie marks and manes. Once figure began to form a pair of tucked wings at its sides and the other a horn on its head. She closed her eyes, not really wanting to see the rest of the process, knowing who she was making with her magic. She only visualized the two ponies she knew and wanted to be made with her magic.
It wasn’t long before she visualized the full made ponies in her mind and she stopped hearing the soft sparks of the ponies being traced by her magic. She opened her eyes and was surprised at what she saw.
Before her, two life-like ponies stood a few feet away staring at each other blankly. One was a stallion unicorn and the other a pegasus mare. They were both the same purple aura of her magic but had different characteristics to them. The pegasus mare had a long mane and long beautiful eyelashes. She only idly blinked staring at the unicorn stallion as if waiting to be commanded. The other one was a slightly muscular-looking stallion with a short mane who as well stared at her idly, blinking. Both had only slightly visible cutie marks as well. This is exactly what she pictured in her head..Her magic was clearly being more obedient.
She let out a deep breath and began attempting to command them with her magic, making them do simple motions like move their hooves or do a little trot in a circle. She was getting used to how she would move them first before doing anything else. The fact that she created two existing ponies with her own magic was insanity in itself anyway. Whenever they looked her way she flinched a little as well, not use to such life like magic. Eventually, she was ready to use them for the way she wanted..Or..Was this what she wanted?..
“Voice spell?..Testing, testing..” She said as she had shot a beam of magic down at her throat and instantly heard a change in her voice, a very deep sounding change.
“EEK!”
A very manly scream escaped from her throat as she fell over, terrified of her new voice. It definitely sounded like Drizzle all right frightened her truly that she could imitate his voice. It felt so wrong..She definitely wouldn’t be using this spell again.
“Grr..Stop it, stop it, stop it..” Flusk said frustrated as she shot a beam down at her throat again, attempting to get rid of the new voice of hers as it slowly faded back into its original tone.
“Phew..”
Ten minutes later, Flusk was ready. Although she didn’t quite like the idea she had come up with by creating them both, they wouldn’t know. Or would they?..She sat down as she had them in a sitting down position currently in front of each other. She took a deep breath and furrowed her eyes, her horn glowing furiously as she began to make them move a bit. As she did so, she thought about this entire idea altogether...What was she thinking?..Why did she nee- WANT to do this?..Yet..She continued.
The holographic mare, Dyed Petal leaned her head on the stallion’s shoulder, closing her eyes blissfully. Flusk only folded her ears as she focused on the two holographic ponies. She allowed the stallion to also lean over on to her. She felt a bit of jealousy bubble within her. Over fake ponies?..This was ridiculous. She needed to get herself in order with this. Perhaps if she pushed this a little farther she could train herself to not feel anything about it..
She made Dyed nuzzle Drizzle in the neck and bury her face in his chest. Flusk noticeably tensed up her muscles reflexively. She let out a sharp breath, making Drizzle give Dyed a small kiss on the cheek. She placed her hoof to her forehead, dragging her hoof down her face and gritting her teeth. She already knew what she would try next and she knew this might have bad results..Over ponies made of magic. This was stupid..So..Stupid.
She had them both sitting in front of each other when Drizzle pulled Dyed into a kiss. Even though she could visually see them doing it in her head in all their glory and color and was commanding them to do it, she felt her blood boil with sudden anger she had never thought would arise from within her over something like this. She stood up, her breath caught in her throat. She felt it all hit her...
“AAAGGHHH!!”
The fake Dyed Petal was suddenly hit with a powerful blast of magic, it exploding upon impact as she turned into nothing but fading sparkles which as well changed into nothing. Flusk panted, keeping her eyes on the spot where she once stood. Why did she react like this?..Why?..WHY?
“Why did you feel the need to do that?..”
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the only thing left of the creation of her magic, Drizzle Dots. He didn’t stare at her angrily for destroying his fake girlfriend but he looked at her with a face she couldn’t quite tell what emotion. Perhaps it was everything..Or he didn’t feel anything at all. Wait..Was she doing this?! How did he respond without her doing anything?
“I-I..What?..” Flusk asked, shocked.
“Why did you do it?..Why did you hurt her?”
“I..I didn’t hurt her, I-“
“You killed her.”
Again, his face didn’t change. He only continued to stare at her, his eyes never moving on anything else. It frightened her how little movement or emotion he showed.
“I can always create her again..I-If that’s really what you want..”
What was she saying? He clearly didn’t have any emotions and he wasn’t the real Drizzle. Why do this for something non-existent? It didn’t matter, this wasn’t Drizzle.
“You still hurt her. Why would you hurt someone who did nothing to you?” He asked.
“I..Because she hurt you! You just..You think it’s okay to just be with her again after what she did? You don’t know if she’ll change or treat you better, what are you thinking?!”
“Now is that your decision to make? You seem to let your emotions get in the way of what others want. That isn’t going to help him or yourself.”
Flusk looked down at her hooves momentarily before her face was filled with anger. "What do you know, you're not even real!"
Before she knew it, the air was knocked right out of her and she was flying straight over the railing of the balcony. She only watched as the balcony disappeared in slow motion and she saw the blank eyes of the one she called her 'best friend' just watch her fall with no emotion..No feeling..Heartless..But..This wasn't him..Or was it?..
It was like everything came out of slow-motion suddenly once she saw his blank face vanish. The air made her mane whip into her face and she cried out in fear. She only kept spinning and turning in the air waiting for death to consume her. She would have tried to cry out to somepony to save her but who would? He definitely wasn't going to save her. There came a moment where she accepted her fate and she closed her eyes, letting her clenched muscles be free and letting her body become limp. It was over..And there was no point in struggling. Just accept..Death..Accept..You caused this pain..Accept..He'd never love you.
She could see the impact of the coming ground in her mind coming in a few seconds..And then..Pain..She felt extreme pain all over her body..But..Relief. The darkness consumed her and relieved her of her pain. It numbed her of everything she had suffered and carried her to a place where she didn't need to feel pain. Maybe..Where she could be free...
