Tayo and I always want out of the business but we know that will never happen. However we love everyone we work with non-the-less. Our boss isn't bad either. He cares for us a lot and never lays an abusive hoof of his own on us. Not once in our entire lives of being here. Not once since starting work now that we are teenagers. Tayo is a lanky pony with a white mane and tail and a cobalt blue body. Her eyes are a soft purple hue. I am a muscled pony, all "pink and fun" as the others would say. None of us have our cutie marks either. While being in this business we never experienced the fun of finding out who we really are.
All of us-Anna, Layla, Maaya, Bridget and Damien-stand in a spaced circle behind The House. It was night and we were in the alleyway. We were all covered in similar scars, bruises and scratches, inflicted by the customers we get. Damien, a short, black, feminine-looking pony levitated the gun with his blue magic, watching it with his ice blue eyes. Sucking in a breath, he had it up to his head and pulled the trigger. It clicked and nothing happened. Anna snatched it from him with her red magic, spun the barrel and let the bullet escape straight up into the air. Everyone cringed and I stopped breathing.
Every night we played Russian Roulette. So far we have been able to tell when the bullet it on us, even after spinning the bullets.
Anna shut her grey eyes tightly and let the gun drop to the ground in front of her tan body. Her wavy, blonde mane covered her face and we could hear her sobbing quietly. I walked over to her, picked up the gun in my mouth and tossed it onto the roof of The House. As I looked back at Anna I saw she had stopped crying and now looked blank. She pushed back my straight pink mane and smiled slightly before turning around and heading inside. Layla, Maaya and Bridget followed her silently. They were triplets, orange coats and blue manes. Maaya had green eyes. Bridget had black. Layla had silver.
Damien and Tayo stood beside me and we hung our heads and I finally breathed. "We can't keep going on like this," I whisper, shaking. My friends pressed against me and I felt them shaking too. "We will escape soon," Tayo says, determination masking her fear. I lift my head and we head inside, hit by the smell of sex and cigarette smoke. Stormy Night greets us with a nod of his grey head. He is our boss.
"Tomorrow you have three appointments Pinkamena and only half an hour between each one to get ready for the next," Stormy says, before looking at Tayo. "Tayo, you are off tomorrow and same with you Damien."
