Resist and Bite
Failed confrontations in the dragons land
Previous ChapterNext ChapterCharlie and Luster Dawn both have been following the long blue stream leading to the Dragons Land for six minutes now. While they were walking, Charlie had a very disconsolated expression because he remembered what the Chinese soldier said about him and his family, and there were so many inquiries in his head. How did the Chinese soldier know his identity and past? Does the rest of the Chinese military know about him along with the police force? Then, a daunting and touching memory came in his head. And this was the memory of his father.
December 24th 2009
There was a huge fire in a skyscraper in Sydney, many were killed and injured from the infernos and most of the NSW firefighter units have been injured from the fire. And the remaining firefighters inside the skyscraper began to evacuate the building along with some wounded because the NSW police tactical response units were about to explode the skyscraper. And the reason why they are doing that is because they need to prevent the skyscraper from toppling down into the center of the town. And Charlie's father Andrew Lam along with the rookie George Jackson were in the basement of the skyscraper to rescue their fellow sergeant Mark Elliot and seven wounded. They went through the exit gate of the basement water supplier area to reunite with sergeant Mark and the seven wounded but then, the sound of the gate closing stopped the rookie George Jackson in his track. He turned around and saw that his captain Andrew Lam was at the other side of the gate, and his helmet was placed at his side.
George then ran up to the gate and gripped onto the bars.
"Captain, what's going on?" George asked with a petrified and anxious expression. But Andrew replied with a warm smile to his fellow rookie.
"Go in, all of them are waiting for you to save them." Andrew said with a warm smile.
"Wait, we were suppose to stick the C-4's on the water tanks and explode it and ride the currents to the exit of the-"
"The detonator has been lost. I have to stay and explode the bombs manually." He told him.
George was traumatized when he heard that his captain has lost the detonator for the C-4'S. Then he banged onto the bars again.
"No wait! Let me stay!" He pleaded.
"George, I am not doing this to save you. I am doing this for all of the civilians you can save in the future." Andrew told him "You are a great firefighter George consider that. And one day, you'll eventually become a captain as well. And please, give my helmet to my son." He finished with a warm smile. After that, Andrew began to walk back to the water tanks. While he was walking, he heard the voice of his rookie calling for him again.
"Captain! Captain!" George cried.
At the skyscraper basement water tank area. Andrew pulled open the seal cover on one of the C-4'S he has on his hand. He then looked at the circular red button on the top right corner and must assume that it was the button for exploding the C-4. Before he pressed the button, Andrew pulled out a small photo of him and his five year old son Charlie Lam, and he began to cry.
"Charlie, my son... I am so sorry... for all of the lies I made... all you wanted is for me to take a break from work... and have a nice family dinner on Christmas... but it looks like daddy cannot come back this year..." Andrew said between cries. he then hugged the photo and placed his right finger on the circular red button.
"Charlie, Wendy. I love you two so much." Andrew said. After that, he pressed the circular red button on the detonator and all of the C-4's exploded. Then, tons of water were released from the tanks and rushed to Sergeant Mark Elliot , Rookie George Jackson and the wounded.
Once the water has splashed all of them. They all rode the currents in the sewer area to get to the ocean were the water rescue team will pick them up.
After one minute, Mark, George and the wounded have safely made it to the ocean and out of the toppled skyscraper. Then the water rescue team swam to their location and picked them up on large boats. Mark and George both looked at the toppled skyscraper and saluted to their brave Captain Andrew Lam. Thanking him for his heroic savior, guidance and sacrifice.
Charlie nearly shed a tear when he remembered that depressing memory of his father's heroic sacrifice during that skyscraper fire in Sydney. But then, he was snapped out of it when Luster Dawn called him.
"Charlie? Charlie?"
When Charlie heard Luster Dawn, he immediately shook his head and snapped out of it. Then he looked at Luster Dawn.
"Oh! Um... what's the matter Luster Dawn?"
Luster Dawn was a little worried about Charlie. But, she shook her head and said "We have arrived at the entrance of the dragon lands Charlie."
Charlie then looked in front of him and saw very astonishing things. It was a country with four volcanoes almost similar to the ones in Hawaii except it had less. Lava pouring from the peak, rocky mountains and stone seats.
"Whoa, now this place is very extraordinary and cool." Charlie thought.
"I sure do hope that the dragons are more kind and less stubborn compared to the Kirins, Changelings and Griffons." Luster Dawn said with a roll of her eyes.
"Me too." Charlie agreed with a nod "Now let's go in and see if there are any remaining residents hiding or residing here." He said.
Luster Dawn nodded and the two entered the land without hesitation.
While walking, Charlie and Luster Dawn strolled through some rocky paths with no anxiety of the environment. And the whole place seems very empty like the Kirin Village, Griffonstone Couldsdale and the Changeling Kingdom.
Everything seem very safe and quiet for a moment but that was Luster Dawn gave out a startled yelp.
"Eeeep!"
When Charlie heard Luster Dawn's yelp, he turned around and looked at her and saw her starring at something very spine-chilling and she looked very unnerving. He then looked at where she was looking and saw something very traumatizing. There was a green dragon lying on the rocky ground with no signs of life.
"Oh my, what happened to this dragon?" Luster Dawn asked petrified.
Charlie bent down and carefully scrutinized the green dragon. First, he extended his right hoof and placed it on his neck area to check if the carotid pulse was in good condition, but it wasn't pumping so he must be dead. Charlie then sighed sadly and removed his hoof away from the dragon's neck.
"He's gone." Charlie told Luster Dawn.
When Luster Dawn heard this, she gasped in horror and covered her muzzle with her hooves.
Charlie's slowly looked down at the dragon's chest area and found some evidence.
"Huh? What's this?" Charlie asked himself quietly.
He then looked closer and saw twelve bullet wounds in the dragons chest. He observed it for a few seconds and saw that they were 5.8x42mm calibre bullets, probably from a QBZ 191 assault rifle.
"Whoa, looks like there was a daunting struggle between the dragon and a soldier." Charlie said. And Luster Dawn got affrightened by Charlie's information.
"There must've been a spine-chilling conflict between the dragons and the Chinese." Luster Dawn said trembling in her words.
"Indeed there was." Charlie said as he stood up, them he looked at her "I can't believe that the Chinese soldiers would do such a menacing thing. And were there any dragons arrested and enslaved in your capital?" He asked her.
"Yeah." Luster Dawn replied with a nod "Many of them, but some were killed." She finished with a disconsolated expression.
"I'm so sorry Luster Dawn. But be assured, I will make sure that all of the creatures in the land will be saved by the Chinese, and I will not rest until I succeed." He told her.
Luster Dawn was truly astonished by his words.
"Thank you so much Charlie, I am glad that I have met a friend like you." She said with a smile.
"You welcome." Charlie said while rubbing the back of his head with his right hoof "So, should we resume on finding the remaining dragons?" He asked.
"Yes we should." Luster Dawn replied with a nod.
"Great." Charlie said with a smile "Love your enthusiasm, so let's continue."
Luster Dawn giggled when she heard the remark.
Then Charlie and Luster Dawn resumed on proceeding forward. But suddenly, a spear was thrown the ground near them which made them stop in their tracks.
"Whoa! What was that?!" Luster Dawn exclaimed in fear.
Charlie noticed that the spear was thrown on their right side. He looked at his right and saw a grey scaled coloured two legged and two winged dragon standing on a mountain. And it was glaring at them, and it also looked like it has been beaten up very badly considering the bruise marks and blood on his body and face. Then, it looked behind him and yelled.
"Everyone! Charge towards the ponies!" The dragon yelled and it was a male.
Once the male dragon has yelled that, he flew down towards Charlie and Luster Dawn along with fourteen multi coloured dragons behind him.
When Charlie noticed this, he grabbed Luster Dawn's hoof again and attempted to run to the exit with her. And Luster Dawn immediately blushed when Charlie held her hoof again.
Charlie then turned around and began to run to the exit with Luster Dawn behind him but, three more dragons stopped them in their tracks, and these ones have lots of constitutions on their chests, legs, wings and faces which startled Charlie.
Then, the fifteen dragons behind them have officially made it at the location and surrounded them with spears. And some had torn metal armour. Charlie examined the dragons and saw that they have been brutally attacked by some soldiers either with batons, knives or by combat. And the torn metal armour they were wearing were probably shot by some 20 gauge shotgun shells, and 7.62mm sniper rifle bullets.
"Whoa, these dragons must have experienced some arduous and daunting events." Charlie thought.
"Just one minute and fifty five seconds here and we are already being threatened." Luster Dawn whispered to Charlie indignantly.
"Can't blame them, they do look like they have went through some rough and eerie incidents." Charlie whispered back.
"Make way!" A female voice shouted in the crowd.
Charlie and Luster Dawn looked forward and saw that fifteen of the dragons were separating each other as if like they were making way for someone to go through. Once the fifteen dragons have accomplished that, Charlie and Luster Dawn saw a light blue scaled dragon with blue wings in a torn golden armour. Charlie scrutinised the female dragon and saw that it has gone through some rough moments considering the torn golden armour she was wearing, as well as many bruises on her face, wings and legs. Then, the female dragon began to walk to the stallion alicorn and unicron mare. She then stopped 7cm away from them.
"Who are you two? And why are you in our land?" The dragon demanded an answer.
"Oh... um... hello there ma'am, my name is-"
"My name is Ember, not ma'am. And I am the Princess here."
"Well nice to meet you Princess Ember, my name is Charlie Lam, and this is my friend Luster Dawn." Charlie introduced. And Luster Dawn waved anxiously at Princess Ember.
Ember was truly baffled by the name Charlie.
"Charlie Lam?" She asked perplexed "That's an unusual name except for Luster Dawn. Anyways I'll as you again, why are you two in my land?" She demanded again.
"Oh well, please forgive our ill-mannered entry without you all knowing. And the reason why we are here is because, we need your help." Charlie told her, and Ember and her dragons got disorientate.
"And why do you want our assistance?" Ember asked. Then, Luster Dawn began to delineate.
"Well you see Princess Ember, the reason why we came here looking for your assistance is because our land is in grave danger as you can see. And me and Charlie are recruiting the remaining survivors across the land to hope that we can fight back against the humans that have taken over our entire land. We have went to ask for aid in the Kirin Village, Griffonstone cloudsdale and Changeling Kingdom but they all refused to help." She said with a depressed expression.
When Ember heard the information, she was shocked that most of the creatures from different lands repudiated to help them on fight back against the invaders and taking their land back. But what baffled her was the word human.
"Um pardon me but... what's a human?" She asked. Then Charlie began to delineate.
"Humans are homo sapiens, very intelligent. And they were the ones who invaded you all." He said.
"Wait, you mean those invaders are called humans?" She asked.
"Yes, and that is why we-"
Charlie was cut off when Ember gave him a suspicious expression which perplexed Charlie and Luster Dawn.
"Hold on a second mister Charlie Lam. How do you know about these humans if you are an alicorn?" Ember asked.
When Luster Dawn heard the question, she immediately began to sweat apprehensively because, Charlie was not one of her kind, he is one of the invaders despite the fact that he is from a different country. And she had an 'Uh oh' expression on her muzzle.
When Charlie heard Princess Ember's inquiry. He sighed and began to blurt everything out.
"Well you see Princess Ember, I'm not an alicorn actually." He said, and all of the dragons got bewildered.
"What do you mean?" Ember asked.
"Well, to be honest. I am actually a human who has transformed into an alicorn." Charlie confessed the truth.
All of the dragons gasped in horror when they heard that. The dragons armed with spears tightened their grips on their weapons and flared at them, and the exertion made Luster Dawn swallow a lump.
"Y-your one of the invaders?" Ember asked with an anger and horror mixed expression.
"Yes, I am but I can assure you that I am not a threat."
"Not a threat?" Ember asked getting even more vexed "Your kind has killed my father with their monstrous long weapons that has killed many of my kind. And many were arrested including some of our youngs! And we were left to suffer with very small amounts of resources!" Ember exclaimed which traumatized Charlie and Luster Dawn.
"Oh my, I am so sorry Princess Ember." Charlie said in sorrow "But, if you comply with us, we can-"
Charlie wasn't able to finish his sentence when Ember roared out some purple flame which made Luster Dawn jump. After five seconds, Ember ceased her flame and sent Charlie a glare.
"Do you honestly think that I will help you after what your kind has done to us and our friends? Your kind enslaved and slaughtered us! And how can we know that you are not going to transfer us to them?"
Charlie tried to calm the enraged Princess down.
"Princess Ember, try to calm down-"
"NO! WE WILL NOT FALL FOR YOU AND YOUR KINDS VILE TRICKS! NOW LEAVE!"
Charlie tried to sooth her down by confronting again but suddenly, all of the dragons surrounding them began to breath in and preparing to shoot out fire from their mouths.
When Luster Dawn noticed the fire inside of the dragons mouths. She immediately got near Charlie and activated her horn and established their escape.
"Time to go!" Luster Dawn said.
Then, Luster Dawn has successfully teleported her and Charlie out of the dragons lands in the nick of time before the dragons could burn them into smithereens. And they were standing at the entrance.
Charlie and Luster Dawn were both traumatized and relieved after their escape.
"Thanks for the bright idea Luster Dawn." Charlie said with a grateful smile.
"Your welcome." Luster Dawn said between breaths after escaping that daunting situation. Then, her smile on her muzzle disappeared and she was infuriated.
"Uggh! That was our last destination!" Luster Dawn exclaimed "We went to look for assistance the Kirin Village, Griffonstone Cloudsdale, Changeling Kingdom and Dragons land, and the Kirins, Griffons, Changelings and Dragons all declined to assist us! Why is everypony so stubborn?!" She asked with an enraged expression.
"Again, I can't blame them since I am one of their kind."
"I know but, you had nothing to do with this! Everypony is so disrespectful! Why are the Chinese even invading us?!" She exclaimed with tears forming in her eyes.
When Charlie noticed the tears in her eyes. He closed in on her and hugged her, and Luster Dawn cried into his shoulder. And her tears flowed through his broken science coat.
"Shhh, there there Luster Dawn calm down, let everything out." Charlie comforted. And Luster Dawn began to let everything out by crying.
"Do you want to go back to Canterlot?" He asked "Maybe I can come up with some bright ideas on how to negotiate with the Chinese peacefully and there will be a potential chance that the leader will release you all." He finished with a smile.
Luster Dawn released her grip from Charlie and sobbed.
"Okay." Luster Dawn said with a nod "I just hope that we can make all of this right again because, I want all of this drama and killing to stop." She said with a sob.
"I hope so too, and I solemnly swear that I will protect you and save you and your friends from the Chinese."
Luster Dawn was truly grateful when she heard his words. She has never met such a kind and brave stallion or human like him before.
"Alright, let's go back to Canterlot." She said.
Charlie nodded and looked down at the purple gem representing Equestria attached in his golden talisman. He then pressed it and a long purple stream was shot out of it, and it lead directly to Canterlot.
"Come on, let's go."
Luster Dawn nodded and began to follow the purple stream hastily with Charlie next to him.
