Adapting to Sanity

“Psst..Chris, Time to wake. Psst…” An annoying purple mosquito quietly pesters the sleeping figure.

“Mmh, Alright I’m up. Morning Twilight...hmm. Guess there is an explanation in order.” Chris finally got up and saw his surroundings. Last night he couldn’t tell where he was. He was in a Library surrounded by guards. Next to him was Twilight and behind her was Shining and Cadence.

“Sorry for a rude awakening Chris but I told my brother what happened last night. He never seen a human before. So he went into overprotective brother mode to make sure you wouldn’t be a threat to me or his city. Sorry again.” Twilight said with her head brought down.

“So this is a human. Didn’t believe in aliens before but now..this is gonna be a game changer.” Shining chuckled.

“Excuse me! Excuse me. Shining!! I can’t see you hun! I wanna see this woman! And why do you have to have so many guards? He must be terrified!”

“It’s pronounced human babe and I’m over here.” Shouted the Prince.

“Ah, there you are. Wow..you’re skinny. When’s the last time you ate something?” Cadence motherhood instincts kicked in.

*cough* “Would you two give him some space please. He just arrived last night. Also he promised to ask me some questions.” Twilight puffing her chest out to show she’s in line for first questioning.

“Alright alright.” Chris chuckled but inside he’s having a headache.

“Is there a quiet place for just us to talk. I will explain everything.” You got this chris. He reassured himself.

“Sure, in the dungeon would be a good start.”

“What my husband’s TRYING to say is we can talk at the dinner table.” Cadence glared at her husband in which in return flinch and mouth the words sorry.

“Oh! Introductions are in order. This is my sister in law Princess Cadence and this is my older brother Shining Armor or Prince Shining Armor if you want to technical.” Twilight rolled her eyes.

“It’s nice to formally meet you two. Forgive me if I cause such a scare.” Chris politely bow.

“For an alien your oddly formal and respectful. Are you sure you’re not tricking us and eat our brain?” The cautiously prince glared at the human.

Through gritted teeth “Brother...shush.”

“Shutting up now.”

“Anyways, Guards! Please escort us back to our castle please.” As they left the Library there were more guards outside and camera flashes.

“Princess Cadence! What’s going on?!”

“Prince Shining! Is everything ok in Crystal Empire?!

“I took a picture of your husband’s dick few days ago!”

“WHO SAID THAT?! I OBLITERATE THAT PONY! HE’S MINE!” Cadence mane was a mess. Her eyes was darting all over the place. Even her mouth was foaming like a rapid dog.

Everything went silent.

*cough* “I mean that’s very nice of you. Everything is fine in the Crystal Empire. And I like to announce something spectacular. Every pony for what I’m about to say I would like you all to remain calm. We have first contact with an alien!!”

To prove her point Chris walked in front of the guards to join Cadence.

“.....hi.”

One reporter spoke up.

“I bucking knew it and you ponies didn't believe me. In yoUR FAACCEE!”

Chris raised an eyebrow slightly confuse. Didn't expect that.

The crowd cheered and some facehooved knowing bits have been lost.

While the crowd cheered they divided a path for The Princessess and the Prince to walk through. As they finally made it Chris eyed the castle. Up close and personal was a different experience. Breathtaking was all he could muster. Following the three now unguarded inside of the castle. Chris just follows them to lead the way.

“Here we are, please sit anywhere and we can talk. Just let me talk to the maids and they will bring something for us.”

“Hun, let me go with you. I can see in your eyes you’re about to pass out. Plus you really need to sit down.”

“I’m fine, this is really important you see how skinny he is.”

From a safe distance out of ear shot. Chris took off his puffy half torn jacket.

“See! But if you wanna come, I don’t mind.” Cadence panted through her last sentence.

“Come on, let’s go to the kitchen and get you a drink.”

As Chris watched the couple go inside the kitchen he needed to tell Twilight something.

“Twilight, there’s something I need to tell you real quick.”

Twilight went alert of this sudden outburst. She was kind of annoyed because she wanted to ask him a few questions as well when they have a chance to be alone but Chris beat her to it.

“Sure Chris, is everything alright?”

“Sort of, But right now I need you to promise me that you can’t repeat a name I’m about to tell you alright?” Chris said in a hurry.

Twilight was conflicted about this sudden change. But there must be a good reason.

“Sure Chris, I Pinkie Promise.”

Chris acted confused with an raise eyebrow

“Uhh.. Ok then. I’m here to track someone with a code name Flurry Heart. Have you seen or heard her before?” Chris knows where she is but doesn’t know when Cadence is going to pop.

Twilight shook her head with a sad look. “I’m sorry but I never seen or heard that name before. Can you tell me what she looks like?”

“Flurry Heart is a human like myself but she’s on the run because she stole government property. She stole a device that can change her appearance. I’m here to bring her back. I or should I say the government doesn’t know her real name. We only know what she goes by and its Flurry Heart.” solid lie

“Why are you telling me this?”

“Because I trust you.”

No later he said that the married couple walk out with maids carrying all kinds of foods.

“Sorry if this alot but we don’t know what you eat.” Cadence sits down in front of Twilight. Follow by Shining sitting next to Cadence in front of Chris.

“Ok, so what brings you here on our lovely planet?”

With a deep breath through his nose, Chris looked at the two.

“I’m going to be straight with you. I’m a mercenary for hire for the Government. I’m here to bring back a person on this planet.”

“W-what?” The married couple said together.

“I’m here to bring that person back with me. I can’t say her name because she stole a device from the Government. That device can change her appearance, so forgive me if I can’t share her name.”

“I see..is she human?” Shining answered, a little nervous because now they have human channeling. Great, if one channeling invasion is bad enough.

“Twilight, what you saw last night was me getting teleported galaxies away. That Library was the last place she exited out of.”

“Ok, you got to tell me how you humans make these things.” Twilight said with a little of drool coming out of her left maw.

“How long ago was it when she left?” Cadence asked, getting that bad memory in her mind at the wedding.

Chris just looked down. “I tried to ask the same thing but only got “It was Classified” response. Since I’m a mercenary I’m expendable so they really don’t care.”

Shining nodding his head in agreement. “Yeah, that happens. Even on this planet. I was in the Royal Guard and we were short on stallions. We hired a few to guard a post that was too dangerous at the BadLands. That was way before I was a Captain.”

Maybe I can get on his good side and ask how he became a guard.

“You were a Captain?” Chris didn’t know what he got himself into.
