It'd been her cuteness and shyness drawing Sunset Shimmer into her perfection, the adorableness seeming ashamed of itself, a giggle turned chortle that summoned of a tide of red across her cheeks. Wallflower always sunk into her turtleneck at every public shaming of 'being herself.'
It was as cute as it was hurt to watch her head trying to dive inside the top.
It had been there that Sunset Shimmer sat at the table with six other friends, trying to smile as they were... but unable to summon the sincerity. Rainbow's expression blasted in a fraction of a second to a boast, a rising frame of orange from the other side of the table, Applejack mad, beating a finger into the girl's collar bone.
Sunset sighed at how normal the feeling had become. Being seated at a table with friends, and yet, eating alone. She was there and not where. Part of the scene only a spectator. The six bore a connection they allowed her to be a part of.
But never were they the seven.
She didn't mind. Shaking her head and stabbing through a branch of broccoli with a fork, there wasn't any rage in the pierce, no hungry munching at being left out. Just emptiness. Hollowness. Being there but not being a part of it.
But seated across the cafeteria was where Wallflower sat at the table, alone, somehow enjoying the solitary company she kept. Accepting the fact she was once more invisible, the shy girl pressed her fork and knife together, like a miniature battle, gushing out sounds through little parted lips.
Sunset coughed and choked nearly on the food as visions of her started to appear. Down on that plate where the giant green girl sat, playfully running away from the fork only to stumble before the slicing monument of the knife—dodging into a roll to the right.
...where the fork would be poised behind her.
How would it feel for those many cylinder-pillars of plastic to sweep beneath her frame, causing her to lie down as the gaping white-platform lifted up, the scared giant towering before it, Wallflower's expanse blurring and then slowing upon the massive might of her beautiful face.
Indulging in the subtleness of enormous face as the vertical lands of green relaxed, those lips spreading ever so small, a dot of light for the lonely girl. That fork jerked forward, hesitance fought to be overcome, all so those lips could envelop the miniature Sunset in a kiss.
"You daydreaming or fantasizing or a mixture of the two?" Sunset jerked as her consciousness spasmed to reality—fighting her spine to stop from doing the same. Glancing to the right, the row of friends were gathering their bags and beginning to stand. "Seemed out of it for a few. We're heading out to the mall. Wanna join?"
Sunset opened her mouth to give the immediate yes that always came for, alone with others was better than actually alone... only for her throat to clench on the word. Would this be her life? Decent friends to decent times to decent hollowing? It wasn't she disliked them or herself or any of this.
But something hadn't felt right or valid for the longest of times.
"N-No... actually..." Sunset coughed upon lowering her head, feigning the zipping of her jacket. "Got a few things to take care of. Place is a mess and the bike needs some work. Y'know, the usual."
Rainbow nodded her head as the other girls left. "I feel that."
Sunset blew air of sweet relief as the jock walked a few steps away... before turning around. "Hey, S-Sunset?"
She blinked. "Yeah?"
"Y'know... we're glad to have you around, right?" That caught her in surprise. In turning to face Rainbow, she already had her head turned, eyes down, hand scratching at her neck. "I always have this voice tellin' me to include you somehow in stuff. But I... I... never feels like I nail it right. More weak inclusions or second-long questions than anything else."
Sunset opened her mouth again, touched in ways she couldn't explain, and yet, her chest clenched at forming an answer that could answer everything summoned in the instance. Feelings and neglect and doubt, noticed by two, worried by the one, yet... the truth... the truth was unknown for the time being.
"We'll get there." Sunset smirked, a half-smile, yet a genuine one. "You noticing that means more than you can ever know."
"Thanks, I think." Rainbow turned away this time, already raising her heel. "Never expect someone like me to notice, y' know?"
Sunset gave her own ashamed cough, sinking into the colour of her leather jacket, hair spreading over her shoulders. "Or for someone like to be in this kind of situation?"
Rainbow smiled. "Guess we're both little stranger and weaker than we let on." She broke away in a couple of steps. "But be good to yourself. Chow!"
Sunset waved her hand. "C-Chow!"
The adorableness of the moment came with intense shame washing over, the red of a stove burning from the cream of her cheeks. She hid into the coat's collar with eyes peering around, finding zero attention, none focused on her. Coming out with a sigh, the act of being invisible saved her from the display.
And in gazing over at Wallflower, the cute girl was still playing with her heat, leaning in a dive to the right, like a captain whispering orders over the shoulders of a subordination. Then she leaned right, erect, eyes wide and murmuring horrifying words.
Her hands, fork and knife, clashed the mac n' cheese into an army of broccoli, the mess of warfare not pleasant to look at. The bell rung to Wallflower's rising shudder. Scared once more of the road, she lowered to the plate, scooping in pile and pile of the conquest.
Unable to leave anything left on her plate.
Sunset watched Wallflower quickly rise and delicately drop the foam-plate into the trash and turn to the wall next to it. Standing there and waiting, obscured from the passing of students, currents and streams diverting into multiple doors leading into many halls.
Few minutes passed until the students had cleared, and only a few still lingered, the two still there. Wallflower glanced out the cafe—to Sunset lowering her head to the disguise of finishing her food—before deeming it to be safe with a nod. She turned, walked out, and left.
Sunset mumbled through a full mouth. "She'd make a good secret agent."
It had taken long to bridge the gaps, the willingness to leave herself bare, to ditch the perceived perception of herself. Sunset hadn't known exactly what beckoned her to the shy girl. Protect her? Little bit. Experience that sweet strangeness? It certainty unfurled a blossom of kinetic energy within her.
Wallflower was so different from her usual choice, the ones that come after the marking of a friend, the weird craving of something more. It started in sitting together during lunches, out to the park and underneath a tree, a bench situated at the top of a hill.
They would talk and play and have some fun.
The days came when they would sit closer than the last, the inches between their legs and bottoms becoming sparse... until there was no room to spare. Sunlight warmed the area the bench, though the shade kept them cool, hidden, obscured from the world.
Talking with Wallflower was different from the girls. She would go on in excitement just to talk. The ramblings from different types of flowers and the sense they evoked upon being sniffed. Different blends of chocolates was another subject. Little things were her everything.
And then it happened, their relationship deepening, in those little moments.
On sitting on that bench together, the two side by side, Sunset had risked a move possible of shattering it all. She lifted her arm over the shoulders of others and, on the immediate contact, Wallflower scooted to the far side of the bench.
In the quickest save of her life, Sunset rested that arm onto the back of the bench itself, glancing over at Wallflower in confusion. She huddled afar, hands clasped and wrists pressed, gazing at her with paranoid fear.
Sunset nodded with a smile before turning away. Blowing a heavy exhale to the unseen-side of her lips, she internally cursed for acting early. There wasn't much choice but to keep the form. It felt unnatural. Just as she was about to drop her arm...
Wallflower had snuggled next to her, slowly and carefully, of her own will, courage and dare. Her minty body leaned into her side and laid some of her weight upon it, tilting her head on the coat-clad shoulders, wild vines of thick green strewn across it.
Sunset kept still. Deadly still. Heart-rate beating quicker and quicker while her heart clenched harder and harder. Scared. All so terrifying scared of what was happening. This wasn't merely the hollowness of sitting at a table where she was rarely the subject.
This was a connection that depended on her words and actions.
And taking the chance once again, she leaned to Wallflower's forehead, kissing it.
The girl giggled to a warm smile.
Sunset did precisely the same.
The faintness of the glow was perfect illumination to the room, barely extending beyond the couch before it, awash over the couple on it. Sunset and Wallflower sat next to each other, with the latter more so leaning into the former, the only sounds coming from the screen.
"She's not going to hurt her, is she?"
"Nah. Lover's quarrel kind of thing."
"So they are going to fight?!"
"Well... I'm not sure fighting is the right word to call it."
Sunset snuggled her arm over Wallflower's frame, gulping, fighting those fingers from exploring... territory off-limits. The thickness of the top glimpsed at the straps of the bra beneath, dense and broad, the same qualities for the objects they held back.
That, and the same to the deliciously plump behind resting on the cushion next to her.
"S-Sunset?"
Shivers of the soul caught before spreading to the body. "Y-Yeah?"
Wallflower was looking up at her now, from the side of her body, half of her face hidden beneath the veil of the joined blanket. Her eyes dived nearly the same beneath the sheet. An utter adorableness rendering feelings of horribleness for all tensions endured for it. "W-Why did you pick me?"
"Pick you? I don't—"
"Please don't fool around with me."
That was a directness the poor girl couldn't summon often.
"Really know how to pose a question on a girl, don't you?" Sunset leaned her head back, all the way, letting it rest on the back cushion of the couch. Staring at the ceiling, her other hand rubbed the expanse of the slender back. Its shape and field, feeling the subtle curve of its sides... paradise to search across with wanting fingers. "Now how do I phrase this without coming across as completely terrible?"
Wallflower shot out from the curtain in a confident proclamation. "T-Terrible people don't admit they're terrible!"
Sunset grinned. "That feels a little too easy of a loop-hole."
Wallflower pursed her lips together angrily. "Then terrible people become less terrible on admiring how terrible they once were! And that's the end of that discussion!"
"But what if I keep making the same mistake despite knowing better?" Sunset flicked back and did the same from her eyes, rolling her head on the cushion, hair lazily cascading from the place. "Doesn't that make me more terrible than someone who doesn't know? They're not aware of it being a mistake just yet." She tucked her lips inward as they spread in a smile. "Maybe, unlike me, they'd become better if they knew."
Something unexpected came from the shy girl. Without hinting to a cue or giving a clue to shyness, Wallflower swung her legs over Sunset's lap, setting that delicious padding at the back of those jeans onto her thighs. Green-lemon hands shot over her shoulders, gripping the cushion, the minty girl arching above her fallen body.
"But have you improved then? Because I think you have." Wallflower grinned down at her from above, for whatever reason, bearing an expression of euphoria. "Y-You know my anxiety is the voices of people talking horriblyabout me. A-Always feeling that way beneath forced smiles. Leading me on.. on... on to thinking something is tucked up their sleeves."
Wallflower gulped and, out a sudden relaxed, crossed her arms over the neck of the girl she was trying to confront. In the one who currently caused the anxiety, she also sought solace it, the embrace allowing the attack.
"B-But you tell me the not-so-pretty things about yourself... and about me. I-Instead of leading me to wonder what you may to be thinking, I-I... I always know what you're feeling." Wallflower exhaled something more than a breath. "I'm not anxious because you're always truthful about our terribleness."
Sunset went to say something again with parted lips, feeling warm and tight and hugged by the arms around her neck, the view of a face hovering above. It peeked through the jungle of green strands, consuming her view. It enabled her silence for a little longer.
"It allows me to do things like this... t-to confront you and... and in the fear the comes from d-doing so... t-to hug you to help me through it." Wallflower swallowed with a smile, lowering onto Sunset's frame, their bodies pressing together—a delightful weight of pressure all around. "Either you explain how terrible it was and slowly improve from it. Or you truly are terrible, keep being terrible, but let me know... now tell me something."
Wallflower hands slipped into the snugness between Sunset's back and the crushing, wrapping around the lithe frame, bringing herself into a clinging hug summoning the greatest tightness she could maintain. It was like being hugged from a child, and Sunset was quick to return it.
"Why would a terrible person let me know how terrible they are and... never improving?" Wallflower blew a warm breath across Sunset's colour, tickling the skin, little needles to pleasant pricking. "Either you would have to admit you're doing it to torture f-fragile me, or... to warn me to leave or go or be somewhere better."
Wallflower pulled back with a smile, their faces inches apart, a connection felt despite the lack of contact. "So what is it going to be, missy? Have you been the terrible woman you think yourself to be, torturing me all over again, or are you... better than that?"
Something pulled on the left of Sunset's lips, and something burning welled from the corner of her eyes. Heat flushed beneath her skin and her muscles convulsed in a horribleness that felt utterly wonderful. Though imploding, it was a release she needed for too long of a time.
"Why are you so good to me?" Sunset said the words through wobbly lips. "Always making me admit the better qualities about me."
Wallflower leaned in to nuzzle their noses together—ending it with a playful boop. "Because I want you to love yourself for all the reasons that I love you, silly!" She dived in after a giggle, submerging their lips together, embracing her desires. Seconds later she pulled back. "You let me be myself around someone else." Another kiss to another bliss. "This? This isn't something that I, that I, that I ever thought I'd have in my life."
Wallflower seemed to have finished her depletion of confidence for the day for, on the final of their last kiss, her head dived into the crook beneath Sunset's chin. This summoned a laugh and the raising of the blanket over their bodies.
"You let me feel strong even when I'm weak."
Wallflower snuggled into her chest, a response to the words, and the promise to listen.
"I have friends," Sunset sighed, "and places to go, things to do, stuff to see." Her eyes settled again on the ceiling. "I was doing everything right, apparently. Checked off on all the boxes for the ideal and right life."
She shook her head, rubbing her chin over Wallflower's scalp, summonsing a sound close to the pur of a cat. "But I still felt empty. My whole life had been trying to be good enough for my teacher. I became so much for that purpose... and pretended what I accrued was enough to be without her.'
Her shoulders fell completely. "I did and became so much to prove things right... to be more than the nothing I once was and... and even though I'm something more now... it's all so hollow. Becoming all this, a something or a someone—little feelings of specialness there—all for it to not matter a thing."
Sunset rested her chin on the back of the girl's head, feeling the hands set around her back, the warmth and pressure and weight of another with her, clinging to her. She felt something, not in merely existing, but rather, in her responses to the other with her. "Realized it's not me, in all my specialness, that leaves marks in others' lives. No... it was others who allowed me to feel special."
She swallowed. "That was enough for a time with the girls. But soon it wasn't enough. Not because they weren't good friends." Sunset laid a hand into the vines of green hair, stroking through them, wavy strands to silky-smoothness. "But what I wanted, needed, was beyond what friendship gave."
The hand finally rested on the foliage of the hair, faintly feeling through the back of the head beneath it. "Instead of sitting at a table, alone but with friends, I wanted to be at one with another, even if we both silent. I wanted to feel special to another before I even thought of them feeling special to me."
Mumbles floated from her chest. "So I was just an easy target?"
Sunset chuckled. "Not completely! And hey! You're the one saying I'm less terrible than I appear. Don't forget me not being so terrible was the case you were making!"
"Mmrrrrnm."
Wherever was she going with all of this? Sunset found it hard to speak about those dense and deep feelings, wounded by the impressions of cuts across her psyche, something bleeding into everything yet only faintly felt.
But this girl. Wallflower. In feeling her pleasant bottom resting on her lap, feeling her weight pressed into her leaned back form, the greatness and smoothness of a green jungle brushing the skin beneath her jaw... everything about her, the way she latched onto Sunset like a child... it made talking about the hard things more comfortable.
"Nothing wants to become something like how a nobody wants to become a someone." Sunset exhaled a sigh breaking into cracks, feeling her throat tense at the harsh words coming up. Instinctively, her arms tightened around Wallflower—a mistake that spiked anxiety. Yet the other girl wiggled deeper into her without fear or panic. "My illusion of being a someone had been cracked. S-Still wearable. But it's like everyone knew that personality was for show—me especially."
It'd been the one time she needed to hold and hug the shy girl, to squeeze her closer and connect their bodies as one to help ride out the terribleness within. So long Sunset fought such impulses.
In all the little moments Sunset had come through for Wallflower.
Wallflower had come through to Sunset on a big one.
Allowing this.
"Maybe you came to mind first because of that—our past and the difference between our social standing." Sunset mocked a weak and terrible laugh. "I needed the nothing underneath to be something to someone else for who knows whatever reason. E-Even if you saw how truly nothing I was... at least... I'd be something more, have something to fall back on... but it-it was all so pointless!"
There was a pricking of sensations washing from Sunset's jaw to chin, the feeling of softness compressing and pressing on spots, lingering in their love, leaving remains of wetness and warmth as it trailed upward.
Wallflower's face appeared beneath her sunny chin as the glow of the screen was awash over the scene. Eyes closed but lips pursed, those amble greens covered in drops across her cheeks, kissing all those bad tears away.
"You were scared, and so you made a mistake, wanting to be healed and helped and loved. Others have done worse and for worse reasons." Wallflower turned her head and rubbed their cheeks together—an affection and aesthetic unsuited for a biker like Sunset. "You were bad before, so you have to be perfect now. No mix-ups nor mistakes. That's your biggest screw-up now."
Sunset rolled her tearful eyes. "Manage to speak confidently for an apparently scared girl."
"Because I don't have much confidence in myself or in a lot of things... but I'm confident in what I see and feel in you." Wallflower pulled back with a giggle, a loose strand of green falling over an eye. "You give me that. I'm so sure of them and feel so secure around you... that it makes speaking of those things easier."
Sunset tried for a joke but failed with the words again.
"Now answer me this question then," Wallflower continued as she sat back and pulling her hands onto Sunset's shoulder. She gripped them, tightly, to stabilize herself and make the other feel her hold. "Is all that you said the only reason you fell in love with me? Or are you an evil and selfish girl touring poor lil' me again?"
That word made her twitch. Its shortened form and its sweet enunciation implying a mock attempt at confidence. Wallflower trying to be sexy and powerful, in her cute and adorable way, anything or anyone actually of those qualities. Sunset shook her head. "I fell in love with how you played with your food and became scared when you made adorable sounds. That... and we're alike on a few things. Just... go about them a bit differently."
"Always able to feign confidence?"
"Don't have the strength to be a wuss like you."
"That better be a compliment!"
"It's half of one."
"Then you won't mind a half-kiss, would you?"
"Compliment! Full, unaltered, compliment."
Wallflower arched higher above and her loose hair obscured the ceiling. That beautiful face of green descended, inches by inches, until that hair draped over Sunset. She was always trying to make herself bigger, taller, somehow in charge. Only in the security Wallflower had with Sunset could she dare to be anything leading or powerful without having to fear to its result.
"Y'know... I just realized something."
The face was only inches away. "What, Wallflower?"
"This is our first time using the L-Word differently?"
"How do you—"
"We said love instead of like."
"T-They can be interchangeable."
"My use wasn't."
"...neither was mine."
The two kissed. Kept like that with one on top of the other, shoulders gripped by searching fingers, a feeling of friction beginning between them. Something was different from the kiss. The plunging of lips was easily done, from time to time, the sweetness of the taste to brighten the rest of their day.
But something had changed during this course. Sunset always let the other lead the course of their relationship, knowing she didn't want it dependant on herself. She could wait and enjoy the actions deepening little by little as the days quickly passed.
But Wallflower didn't seem intent on waiting.
Their lips pulled apart and accentuated by their smack of departure. In silence in which their breathing whispered, both of their eyes were aglow, miniature sources of light connected to the other. Wallflower leaned into the kiss again, lips pressing and meshing and retreating, riding in waves upon the other, a tight squeeze on Sunset's shoulders serving as the finale there.
For the hands travelled into an unexpected place, the sides to the collars of the ebony tank top, fingers sneaking inside, smooth fabric and silky skin becoming the new pressing tightness. Sunset closed her eyes to focus on the sensational—brushing fingers transforming skin into land. Never had the back of her shoulders felt like anything special.
Something to scrub in the shower.
But now a new life billowed beneath the touches of plushness, flames billowing beneath the skin. This part of her body surged with life and welled with a special feeling. Sunset's own hands could retrace but never re-evoke the emotions and the sensations now.
Her body felt special due to another treating it as such.
Until those fingers traced over the clip of her bra.
Sunset's eyes opened, ever so slowly, in tandem to opposite green-lids. Both of their eyes burned softly, felt sleepy, both lolled into a dream-state with the other in it. They spoke in this silent contact. Speaking of their willingness to discover it further, together.
Those fingers pinched the clip as the tense strands relaxed to her shoulder blades. Knowing the intent of the girl, Sunset raised her hands onto Wallflower's shoulders, lightly, suggesting them to back away for a second.
Wallflower felt the suggestion to inch back, not due to being pushed away—the tightening fear behind the advance—but to allow space necessary to include it. Resting on Sunset's lap allowed her to feel something else.
Those toned, softly muscular thighs, supporting her.

Sunset bore a grin and pulled her hands back, holding out her palms in the form of surrender, a delicious smirk waiting to be licked off her lips. Those hands went down, lowering, bearing the full attention of Wallflower, who followed their descent with her snout—almost like a puppy.
Those hands reached the bottom of the dense material, thick stitching that clung to the slender frame beautifully—filled out only in the chest. The sunny finger slipped beneath the brim and, ever so slowly, pulled upward.
That taut belly was first to be exposed from beneath the cover of the tank-top, kissed by the sun to melted cream composing its skin, a texture to be licked and kissed and to rest one's head against.
In the dim lighting, more of the taut tummy was exposed, the fabric pulling upward, more and more, revealing the lands of gold that were softly rounded. It carried and carried until reaching the first impression of weight, fatness compounded into perfect proportions... that beckoned Wallflower to dare this from the start.
The fabric slid up the underside of the sunny curve, a glimpse of compressed softness resting from the chest. Its shape was broad enough to fill and press into the cavity of the fabric, defined by the slope of ebony stitching, adding padding to something that didn't require it—but tacked a different allure nonetheless.
And then the tank-top was pulled over. Tightness of blackness pressed up into the undersides of the soft-suns, their heft pulled and lifted by the fabric, raising as high as they could... before slipping free. They fell in loose wobbles, a sound of wet-smacking kissing the air, the glorious looseness of the breasts resting on Sunset's chest.
Beat. Beat. Beat. Thumping in the ears and fingertips went cold. Wallflower had never seen a pair beyond her own, stomach imploding into a swirling sensation that stabbed into its centre-point. Not quite sure what to say—much less what to do—she examined them carefully.
Sunset seemed amused from her perch above now, resting back with her twins out, tossing aside her top with a flick of a wrist. Not moving or talking, only allowing access, setting her eyes up on the screen ahead. None many would enable another privacy to their own body.

Glancing up to the face above, Wallflower saw Sunset's eyes flick away, settling back on the television. The blush beneath the eyes was unmistakable. Sunny couldn't help admiring the inquiry into her body. Wallflower smiled. Not everyone could be perfect.
That still brought the matter of the coldness of her body. Frost in the fingertips as ice circulated in her veins. Those warm orbs urged her hands forth, promising heat and softness and goodness, things to be held and enjoyed. In exhaling a breath and trusting to her body, Wallflower emptied her mind.
And went in.
Her emerald hands went forward, shakily, entering their resolve from their contact on those breasts. The feeling was paradise at once. Bundles of fires encased within the center of squish, skin pre-heated and their surface slick, an overall smoothness never before felt.
Sheets of ice melted from the minty fingers as they orientated, spreading wider and travelling further, snaking over the slope of the golden globes and feeling them impress beneath the knuckles of her palm. But Sunset wasn't bearing any anger while her head rolled back onto the couch, the blush on her cheeks more intense, eyes looking up from their down and half-lidded state. Sunset stood from the couch and walked to its side, offering a hand to the other, smiling as wide if not wider. "Will you join me there?"
Wallflower froze for seconds... before an enthusiastic nod. "I think I will."
The two joined hands and kept that way, despite standing together, leaving the glow of the screen. They ambled behind the couch and into the hall, first door on the left and Wallflower, being last on walking through it—closed it behind her.
