Imperfect Vision
A young, neurotic stallion with an unknown past tampers with the natural order of sleep, leading to an interrogation from The Mare in the Moon. In this brief moment between dusk and dawn, the discussion goes poorly… and fast.
Imperfect Vision is an Earth stallion, barely an adult, and with more personal problems than ponies have any right to earn. The machinations of his mind have little more outlet than meaningless experiments and self-hating dissertations with himself. He is lonely, obviously so, and though there is little he’ll willingly divulge, one is able to read between the lines of his speech ― and discover an imperfect tragedy.
When The Mare in the Moon, that goddess before him, disrupts his sleep deprivation, Imperfect finds himself enthralled. Who else but her can stand to converse with him? But it’s not meant to last. It cannot last. And the story ends as it begins; in the night, solving nothing, awake and yet asleep.
