Buying Time, Buying the Farm

"Be more specific, Blight. What do you want us to guess?"

"Who," he began again. "did I come here with?"

"I know that you rusted old ghost. I mean, are you asking who you entered the castle with, or who you entered Equestia with?"

The figure seemed to mull-over the choices for a minute. "Yes." He replied with a dry mock-chuckle.

"You never used to be this annoying, even when you lived in the emperor."

"Getting almost killed by a hound twice can make you petty, and I never said I don't hold grudges. Answer yet?"

"Give us a minute." Waka and Ammy began conversing over the possible candidates. He could be with a guard, they were allowed to carry swords anytime. No, Goldnail would stick-out like a sore thumb among the guard swords. He could have been mistaken for an antique by a servant and placed somewhere in the castle for safekeeping, just as unlikely, the servants probably wouldn't go near Goldnail, with it's putrid appearance.

"We give-up, Blight. There is no way for us to know the answer to something like that and you are only wasting time. Look, you're already starting to fade-away. At least we know your sword isn't nearby then."

"It wasn't that hard, but I suppose my time is running-out. Fine, I would give you another hint, but I doubt it will be very necessary."

"What do you mean?"

"You tell me, prophet. Farewell, maybe we'll meet when you don't have your attack-dog next time." And with that, the last of the mist was caught on the wind and blown out of the tower, dissipating after a few seconds.

"He has a point, mon amie, there is a slim chance I could see what he plans on doing beforehand."

"Row." Amaterasu didn't want to interfere, this part was entirely up to Waka, she could do many things, seeing the future was not one of them.

Waka closed his eyes and concentrated. "I see... ponies, obviously. It's peaceful at the moment, nothing seems wrong... Wait! I'm starting to see something change!" There were large figures looming over the town, hardly recognizable against the dark mountains. They began flying towards the town, raising an alarm a few seconds later after being spotted. Waka didn't see any guards, it was just a civilian town. Some of the citizens, mostly unicorns, were getting ready to attempt to drive-off the figures, but the familiar fog from before began pooling around their feet. Seconds later, Blight emerged from one of the town's houses, sword-drawn. Waka wished he could warn the militia of what was about to happen. He saw Blight ready his stance, lifting Goldnail into the air. It began to shake wildly in his hands, right before Blight shot-off, leaving barely a blur, straight towards the back of the citizens.

Waka snapped-out of his vision. "Blight isn't in the castle anymore, he left his smoke as a decoy! He's currently inside a citizen in one of the towns near the mountains, he plans on destroying their defenses from the inside while his partners destroy the town itself."

Ammy just barked at Waka, digging for details.

"It was... Lechku and Nechku attacking the town." Replied Waka, slightly worn-out from the level of detail in his vision. "I don't... It doesn't seem likely that there was anyone else."

Ammy barked again, she needed the town name before she could go, she couldn't bother to wait for Waka to recover.

"It was a town nearby, just down the mountainside to the southeast. Celestia told me about the town before."

"She said it was called Ponyville."

Amaterasu leaped out of the tower window, falling the length of the castle before turning and heading for the town.

Waka just slowly got up and began slowly walking back towards the staircase, it would be a few minutes yet before he could teleport again. "I'm not sure if the princess should know about this yet." He muttered to himself before picking up one of the lunar guards and began dragging him to the infirmary.
