//-------------------------------------------------------// Gas Station -by DanielBenner302020- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Stopping for gas //-------------------------------------------------------// Stopping for gas Sour Sweet was driving home in her red 2018 Toyota Camry Sedan , singing along with her favorite song: "The Spectacle" by Countess Coloratura. It was pouring rain at 12:45am. She had just been out for a night of partying with her friends from Crystal Prep academy. She had the windshield wipers on to help her see through the rain. Sour Sweet then took a look at her fuel gauge and saw that it was almost empty. "Fuck, I forgot to fill it up on the way to the party. Well, I saw there was a gas station on the way so I can stop there." Sour drove to the gas station to fill it up. She didn't know how to do it herself, so she headed inside to as the gas station attendant to help her. Sunset Shimmer was inside the gas station at the register, she was busy counting the money inside of the register in order to balance it correctly. She was interrupted by the bell that sounded whenever a customer came in. Sunset recognized her as a student from Crystal Prep. However, she kept her professional attitude and politely smiled at her. "Need some help?" she asked. Sour smiled back and replied. "Yes, my gas tank is almost empty, can you fill it?" She held out a fifty dollar bill. Sunset took it and put it in the register, nodding. "Sure, I'll go do that right now." Sour nodded before heading back out to her car. "Thanks." Sour replied, she was sure she recognized the girl before she remembered. She was one of Twilight Sparkle's new friends after she transferred out of Crystal Prep and to Canterlot High School. Sunset Shimmer was her name. Sour didn't really care at the moment, she wasn't in the mood to socialize, she had done that at the party, now she just wanted to get her gas tank filled up, and go home. She got back into her car, watching as Sunset placed the gas pump into the fuel tank and began to fill up the gas. She looked into her purse, she figured that she might as well pay Sunset a bit extra for helping her. Suddenly, as she was looking, she heard a knock at her window. It was Sunset. Rolling down her window she looked at Sunset with a confused expression. "Yes? What is it?" Sour asked. Sunset pointed towards the gas station. "You're from Crystal Prep right?" Sour nodded. "Yeah, why?" Sunset nodded and then spoke up. "One of your friends, the one with the glasses. I forget her name. She's inside, she said she'd like to speak to you about a homework assignment." Sour was confused. The friend that Sunset was talking about was Sugarcoat. Sour was certain that Sugarcoat was still at the party when she left. But Sour was tired, and she couldn't remember for sure. She nodded. "Okay, hold on a second." She opened her car door. Taking her handbag with her. She always kept a can of pepper spray in there just in case. She took the keys out of the ignition, hitting the door lock button. As soon as she heard the two beeps confirming the doors were locked. She followed Sunset inside to talk to Sugarcoat. Sunset pointed towards the back aisle. "She's over there, by the soda coolers." Sour Sweet nodded. "Okay, thank you." While Sour Sweet walked over to speak to Sugarcoat, Sunset took out her set of keys, locking the door... Sour reached the soda aisle, she saw that no one was there. She raised an eyebrow. "Sugarcoat? Where are you?" When no response came, Sour tried again. "Sugarcoat?" Suddenly she felt a hand on her shoulder, Sour spun around. It was Sunset again. "Where's Sugar? You said she was back here!" Sunset suddenly approached her. Sour felt her heart begin to race. She was getting seriously scared now. "You lied! What do you want with me?" Sunset approached her a little more quickly. "Don't be scared, I just need to-" Sour didn't give her time to finish, she pulled out the pepper spray from her handbag. Spraying it in Sunset's face, Sunset doubled back, screaming in pain and falling to the floor. Sour took the opportunity to dash for the exit. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!" Sour screamed, she tried to open the door, only to find it was locked. However, since it was made of glass, she could easily break it. She looked at Sunset, who was starting to recover, she used one of the water bottles to flush her eyes with. Then dabbed a rag from the counter on her eyes. Sour quickly ran to the cash register and threw it at the glass door, luckily, she threw it with enough force to break it. Sour quickly ran outside to her car, quickly pressing the unlock door button on her keys. As soon as she heard the door unlock, she rushed inside and quickly locked the door. Buckling her seat belt and starting the ignition. She looked up and saw Sunset standing in front of her car. To her horror, Sunset jumped on the hood. Sour jumped back in fright. "STOP!" Sunset shouted at her through the windshield. Sour, ignoring her, quickly put the car in drive and stepped on the gas. The quick momentum causing Sunset to roll off the car to the side, hitting the pavement. Sour sped off away from the gas station. Sunset got up, she clutched her arm as she had hit it hard when she fell. She saw Sour's car speeding off. She ran after it, but it was already too late. She would never be able to catch up to it. Sunset stared helplessly as it drove off. "S...SOMEONE'S IN THE BACK SEAT!" Sour drove until the gas station was out of sight. She was crying uncontrollably now, shaken from her encounter. She quickly turned on her radio to listen to her Countess Coloratura CD, hoping it would calm her down. She was going to go home and call the police about what had happened. Unfortunately for Sour. She would not get the chance. She did not see the ax wielding figure slowly rising in her back seat until it was too late. The last thing she saw was the ax heading straight for her face. Decapitating her and shattering the glass on her driver side window. Author's Note This is a one-shot story. What inspired me to write this was the opening scene of the 1998 horror movie: Urban Legend. Which is itself inspired by the Urban Legend "Killer in the Back Seat."
