Once again, in the middle of the night, Edvard approaches the small bakery. This time, with him, resistance member bares their weapons. His crew are nervous, they had every right to be so.

Reports began to arrive from nearby outpost. The movement of the dreaded first brigade has been sighted heading towards Vaverfront, with estimated time of arrival between midnight's and tomorrow's dawn. A reindeer wearing black jacket began to pick on the back door. A click later, and they enter.

Silently, they moved to the second floor. He opens the master bedroom, to the startlement of Marion and Marie inside. Edvard told him that they need to move, immediately. He explains that a team of ponies is currently on their way to pick them out. In addition, he warns them that the changelings are hunting them down. His fellow cryptologist cohort were already arrested.

Marion, already wanting to help the resistance, but unwilling to risk his family, found reason now to throw in his whole weight on them. He wishes not to gamble his family chance with the changeling. He concludes that in their eyes, he would pose more of a threat than an asset; seeing as he never reports the partisans and would not be able to help them improve their encryption, merely possessing the ability to break it.

Marion gathers his family, Edvard rushing them to not bring anything else.
As they exit through the back alley, the group ears were suddenly perked by a cracking sound from the road. Then loud pops are heard from beyond the shop front. Edvard looks at the glass pane of the shop, watching as tracers went pass the front. He hurries the group into the sewage below.

As they enter the frozen muck-ridden shaft, Edvard realized.

He's too late.
