Life Anew

You strap on your backpack and make sure your suits on straight before heading inside the chopper

As you do you sit down and put the headset on and start talking to the pilot

"Everyone is on board, checked and secured, ready for lift."

The pilot nods before saying "copy." And flipped a few switches a well as pressing some buttons and the blades atop The chopper came to life

You sigh and do a double take of your comrades they have become your best friends at this point no sorry family

You had LT.John who was always ready to protect the team some of us are still here only because of him the latest person he saved was private Anderson

Private Anderson was the newest member of the team he's a specialist in recon and is our sniper your truly surprised he wasn't promoted yet he's helped keep us on the right path

The last but not least member was LT. Zach he was our engineer so we called him Gears he always had his tools on him even though we told him it would be harder to sneak or shoot due to the weight and noise but he just laughed as he brewed coffee then afterword would clean his custom desert eagle

You chuckled

Even though you know the hell that is war you can't help but feel better knowing these guys got your back

You stopped smiling when the chopper started rocking violently and the pilot said

"We have a problem there's a waterspout here I don't know if we can get through it!"

You said what any scared person would

"Just steer clear!"

The pilot just shook his head

"No shit!"

You felt the chopper jerk as the pilot attempted to steer clear of the waterspout but to no avail the tail was ripped off and more of the chopper was following suit you held on to your chair and unbuckled it seemed stupid but if you could hold on you wouldn't drown either

Pretty soon the chopper was flung and that hit the ocean knocking you out cold...

Your head hurts like really bad you groan but don't dare move yet you feel light waves lapping at your heels that was good you could feel you sat there gathering your senses slowly after you were sure nothing was broken you pulled yourself out the sand and wiped yourself off

"Where...am I?"

You genuinely wondered because you didn't know of any islands anywhere near where you were so naturally you were stumped and suddenly a little fearful just how far did your body drift?

You got started on gathering supplies you couldn't find your backpack and your gun would have to dry before you dare fire it so no hunting today

After a while you managed to start a fire with a makeshift bowdrill and some leaves after which you carefully added wood until you had a real campfire glad you were taught how to do it otherwise it'd be cold tonight or you think so anyway as you crack open a coconut after torturing it with a strong stick by beating it half to shit

As you drink and eat the coconut and bask in the heat of the fire you silently hope one of your friends shows up but not really you hope there not stuck and better yet hope there still alive

You lay down in the sand and stare at the stars than you smile you just saw a shooting star you close your eyes and wish to get out of this place before falling asleep

Your awake or at least your getting there your eyes are still heavy and your yawning you stretch your arms in the grass around you

Wait

You sit up abruptly this isn't where I was which is weird cause I was just somewhere that didn't even exist as far as anyone knew

You scan the area wondering where the hell you magically appeared and stand up

"Hello...is...is anyone out there!?"

You yell into the woods surrounding you before something catches your eye something shiny is that..?

You walk to the shiny object and realize it's a bell just a lone been connected to a post you look around seriously considering that you died and went to limbo before turning back to the bell

You decided that it was best to ring it not expecting much so it was a damn surprise when the ground started shaking

"Wh-what is happening!?"

A house rose from the ground and than the rumbling stopped giving you a heart attack and making you do a double take

"What?"

Is all you could manage before you stood up and took an actual deep look at the place, it was what looked to be a church except bordering on a cottage you couldn't really explain it any other way

Looking at your surroundings than the house again you decided it was your best bet

Walking up to the door you stopped momentarily

Who would be smart and or crazy enough to build this?

You sighed opting that you would have to find out before knocking

For a while no one answered making you think about just going in and dealing with the consequences afterward but just before you got to that it opened and your head went haywire

A small mare with a puffy mane and tail had opened the door that wasn't what made you brain go haywire it was how big is eyes were and how it stared at you with confusion like you were the weird creature and it didn't help that the mare had asked you if you were ok

You shook your head and took a spit take before asking "you... You can... Talk?"

The mare looked at you even more confused before nodding and saying

"Yes yes I can as can we all why do you ask?"

You sat down in the grass and muttered something about dreams and that you hope it doesn't become a nightmare before the mare speaks again

"Are you... Alright?"

You took a deep breath let it out and replied "I don't know but uh I guess I should tell you my name?"

The mare shook her head and said "I don't accept names unless I really know you." Before thinking for a moment and asking if your lost to which you say

"Considering I was washed up on an island and then woke up in The field over there... Yeah...I uh I am."

The mare rolled her eyes and invited you in which after a few moments of thinking you accepted and went inside

It was nice it looked much bigger on the inside and it felt like this place has many magics working throughout it making you shiver wondering how it was even possible for such things to exist

The mare spoke breaking your reverie "so what are you I've never seen one of you before the closest thing I've seen are the beings that come from the mirror?"

You thought wondering what that meant before telling her "i-im a human.."

She seemed puzzled seemingly not expecting that answer "but you did not come from a mirror correct?"

You shook your head at least knowing that no that is not where you came from

She sighed "I suppose you do look different from the ones that came from the mirror still an odd equivalency between you and them..."

You decided not to ask despite wanting to "i-i don't really know where I am I was flying in a helicopter which is basically a big metal bird when we hit a waterspout sending us crashing I woke up on an island that I didn't know existed than feel asleep and woke up in that field over there..."

Oddly she didn't seem puzzled at that rather she looked a bit happy

"Ah so my magic worked!" She beamed at you

You shook your head "what do you mean..?"

She cleared her throat before saying "well you see I was working on a spell that would bring an unknown creature to me dangerous or otherwise I didn't realize that was you!"

You twitched and suddenly couldn't hear anything but your heartbeat

This...thing brought you here

This thing made you crash

This thing made you lose your squad who you don't know if they're dead or alive

"You...did this..?" You ask barely breathing

The mare nods with a smile

You fall to your knees taking in a ragged breath before screaming out and bringing your fist down on the floor shattering both the wood and your hand you couldn't feel it though you couldn't feel anything not even true anger just despair

The mare visibly recoils at your outburst and starts cowering behind her tail after running to a corner

After a few minutes of almost nothing the world comes to again you cough and breath deep choking for air as you didn't breath throughout your whole episode and then suddenly you couldn't breath again

You felt white hot pain up your arm your hand was shattered it was so broken it looked like a cartoon

After nearly a whole minute of silent screaming you finally could draw breath and so you did harshly gasping air

After a few moments you felt better the burning in your hand didn't cease but it wouldn't for a while

You looked over in the corner at the mare she looked absolutely terrified shaking and even screwing her eyes shut as if hoping she'd disappear

You attempt to speak which proves almost futile you screamed hard enough to rip your vocal cords not completely but you wouldn't be able to talk for a while

This didn't stop you from trying again

"I...I...m so-o-rr...y."

Your not sure she heard it cause she didn't stop what she was doing but before you could try again she slowly opened her eyes

She looked at you there was still fear in her eyes but there was also something else worry not for herself but for you

You attempted to speak again but couldn't you rubbed your throat and shook your head before laying on your back in defeat

You heard shuffling than hooves on the wood but you didn't move waiting to be kicked out or worse as you ran your good hand over the broken one trying not to let the pain make you cry the last thing you heard was small hoofsteps before you closed your eyes and passed out

You woke up on a small bed wait no a gurney with a slight pain in your head to which you bring your hand to and rub a little than you rub both eyes with your hands

Your eyes shoot open fast as you check your hands neither of them are broken or in pain the only thing showing any signs of it ever being broken is a bruise on a few of your knuckles

Looking around your in a white room almost a nurse's office without a desk or jars with fancy tools they'd stick in your mouth or a sink or cabinets...so it was a white room with you and a gurney nurses office... whatever let's just continue

You sat up and slid your legs over the gurney hoping you didn't somehow suffer any injuries like that even though it would probably be healed

Standing up revealed you did not in fact have any leg injuries this was good and you felt better as you walked to the door and opened it revealing a hallway oddly you didn't see this hallway before assuming you were in the same place

Taking a breath you walk down the hallway one thing you noticed was that there were not other hallways or doors just paintings and a few bookshelves here and there

When you finally reached the end of the hallway you came out into a living room you did remember this although you didn't come in here so you walked into the house entryway

Opening your mouth to speak you found you could not perfectly but definitely better

"Talking Mare?" You called out careful not to be too loud as to hurt yourself again

She didn't answer but you did hear and smell something in the kitchen so you decided to look there and that gratefully didn't disappoint

She was cooking eggs and... Bacon you weren't sure why but she was cooking bacon

You were going to say something but then remembered what happened so you just knocked on the doorway a little hoping it wouldn't scare her

It did

She jumped a little before looking over at you
