The Elements of Harmony are covertly summoned to the site of an archeological dig in the southeast of Equestria, supervised by the two Princesses. The dig uncovered a massive find unlike anything known before. The body of a massive alien being, buried beneath the trees for countless ages. It is long dead, but it still holds secrets beyond comprehension.

As the Equestrians begin to investigate and draw connections from their world to the beyond, little do they know that their discovery will bring destruction on an untold scale to their world, as well as those who would come to defend it against the coming shadow...
