Steel Stallion, Altidiya Revoltsova and Vasiliy Pentsushenko all sit at a table in a brightly lit room.
The doors to the room are opened and the captain of the equestrian royal guard enters followed by a Pegasus wearing a foreign military's dress uniform.
Steel stallion holds out his hoof and the Pegasus shakes it with the captain of the guard ignoring the gesture and proceeding to sit down.
“Thank you for agreeing to discuss a possible armistice”
Steel stallion nods before saying.
“Let us hope we can at least come to a way to lessen our ponies suffering”
“Of course, I’ve already arranged that no further moves will be taken by the guard until our meeting has completed.”
Steel stallion says.
“Shall we.”
The Pegasus nods before taking a seat with steel stallion following suit.
Steel stallion says confidently.
“I along with many of my advisers feel like they represent the wishes of our people and hope we can negotiate the terms of our independence, we ask that the royal guard remove its troops from our lands.”
The captain of the guard chuckles before declaring.
“That’s asking a bit much, I think the royal guard could easily crush your little rebellion.”
The Pegasus nods before.
“Now I understand that the guard feels it shouldn’t have to negotiate with the rebels but I feel like we can find some way for both parties to be satisfied.”
Altidiya glares at the Pegasus before asking.
“Why should we consider negotiating with Equestria at all, and why should we listen to a foreigner to solve our problems.”
The Pegasus.
“Steel stallion who is this pony.”
Steel stallion glares at Altidiya before responding.
“This is one of my advisers Altidiya Revoltsova.”
The Pegasus nods before answering Altidiya's question.
“Because we’ve had communists take office and turn our nation into a dictatorship, we just want to make sure your citizens are well cared for.”
The captain shouts at the Pegasus in anger
“You're legitimizing this rebellion, they are still equestrian subjects.”
Steel stallion fires back.
“We are not equestrian subjects anymore, we demand freedom.”
The Pegasus says as he motions to both parties.
“Why don’t we try to have it both ways, Equestria wants to keep the region in the fold, and the socialist want to have freedom, what about them being a dominion they get their own constitution, own social assembly, socialists get more freedom from equestrian rule, and equestrian still has some control over them.”
Vasiliy leans towards steel who leans towards him and whispers into steel stallions ear.
“I think this is our best course of action, we can’t win a war against Equestria, we might be able to break away peacefully in due time.”
Steel nods before turning to the Pegasus.
Steel stallion sighs before.
“Against my better judgment I feel like the foreigner is right, but I want to ensure we have the freedom to change our laws and will not be forced by equestrian drafts.”
Altidiya opens her mouth to protest but remains silent.
The captain stands before declaring and storming out of the room.
“Never I will not allow these traitors to go unpunished.”
The Pegasus sighs before saying.
“I would get your ponies ready, because I don’t think I can stop them this time.”
Steel stallion looks to both of his advisers.
“You two should go, they’ve probably already begun their preparations.”
The Pegasus walks towards the door before saying.
“I’ll try to get you some help but I can’t promise it’ll be enough.”
The Pegasus leaves the building before stepping inside of a jeep.
“Get me to the embassy immediately.”
Hours later.....
Rows of royal guards March towards the city of Princessyn unopposed that was until they reached the border.
Sandbags blocked the paved road as the equestrian forces were shocked to have been opposed.
Twenty or so ponies wearing very distinct uniforms displaying their status as peacekeepers block the path of the army, pointing rifles at the guards and an officer yells at the royal guards.
“Attention, the Severnaya Soviet state is under the diplomatic protection of the coalition of free colonies, following a guarantee to preserve its ponies independence and freedoms, if you attempt entry you must do so with the purpose of peace, if not you will have violated international law and will be at war.”
The royal guards look at each before one of its officers says.
“This is no business of your coalition, stand aside.”
The officer yells.
“I am under congressional order to hold my ground against those who do not wish to preserve peace, turn back now or there will be war!”
The royal guard officer, not feeling like starting a war turned and yelled.
“Back to camp.”
Several of the peacekeepers breathed a sigh of relief thankful they hadn’t had to fight their way out.
The officer sends a report to the embassy.
“The equestrian troops have decided not to engage us sir.”
The Pegasus says.
“I’m sure they’ll try to force us to abandon the rebels but I fully intend to hold our ground.”
Little more than an hour later......
Gun fire erupted across the country side as the peacekeepers hid behind whatever cover they could find.
Equestria hadn’t taken lightly to their little stunt and now they were not messing around.
An officer yells for a withdrawal as the equestrian troops draw closer to their lines.
“Fall back.”
Coalition Congress, New Engrain, Trottonto
Chancellor Manechester hurries through the building towards the Congress chambers after hearing of a vote to react to the situation in Equestria.
Just hours ago they’d voted to stand their ground and try to prevent a war now Equestria was outright demanding they stay out of it.
He bursts into the chamber as one of the senators says.
“Chancellor, I suppose you’ve heard, Equestria has just issued an ultimatum, remove our forces from Equestria or face the consequences.”
Manechester says.
“Yes I have senators and I feel that the best course of action right now is to refuse the demands.”
Several of the senators respond.
“We cannot afford another war against Equestria and her allies.”
“You asked me to find us allies, and right now Equestria is threatening one of our allies.”
A senator stands.
“We understand the need to be of our word, but a war against Equestria would be very unpopular, we’ve been in two wars in the past 5 years surely, and we are still recovering from the colonial war, why would we stand by a group of rebels who are the very thing we fought against prior.”
Manechester says as he looks around.
“They may be socialist but I feel that if we help them in their time of need and help steer them in the correct path we could have a powerful ally later, I know that a war against Equestria would be costly maybe even unpopular, they have given us a golden opportunity to prove ourselves as loyal to our allies showing we’d be willing to risk everything to honor our word, such dedication to even the weakest of allies will gain us much respect and the fact they are associated with our former enemies is even more proof that we will protect those that are weak and defend liberty even if we don’t share the same values.”
“Squandering such an opportunity would not only weaken our image but show we are unwilling to oppose those of greater power, so I ask you not to submit to the equestrian demands, we choose our own destiny.”
Several of the senators clap their hooves together.
The senator says.
“We shall put it too a vote, all in favor of refusing the equestrian ultimatum say I”
The vast majority of the senators except for a few all respond.
“I”
“Then it is decided, we will not bow to the equestrian demands, should Equestria respond with force we shall defend the coalitions allies and interests abroad, dismissed.”
The senators leave the chamber as Manechester jogs to catch up with a senator.
“Kane.”
The senator turns before smiling before whispering into his ear.
“Manechester, you're lucky that congress let your little stunt slide, you delayed the vote for a response.”
Manechester nods.
“I know I just needed to get something taken care of.”
Kane sighs before saying.
“The director sure won't like your little recommendation to the generals to stop him from being in the loop.”
“He’ll get over it eventually.”
"Let us hope for all our sake's"
To be continued......
Author's Note
It was kind of difficult to know which date the actual rebellion starts in on the wiki it says in its page it started 994, while on the timeline its 995-996, so I just decided to take creative liberty saying it starts december 944.
Pretty excited about what the community will think about this, the 2nd chapter should at least be a bit better then the 1st I hope.
