The Sun is Hot.

It was a normal day. The birds were singing, the wind was blowing, The sun was... Hot. All in all, it was a pretty ordinary day for a fifteen year old like yourself. Except, You were still in bed. You'd thrown your alarm against the wall to stop the ringing. I Still don't know why I set my alarm today... It is a Friday... And my school has already broken up... Wait. School... You laid there, face deep inside the warmth of your pillow, thinking hard (or as hard as you could in the morning). Something about school... Outside, a bird perched itself on top of a cave entrance on a mountain. Cove... School... Bird... UGH. Bird Cove School?

"SHIT! PHOENIX COVE ACADEMY!" Leaping out of bed, you brush your teeth, dress yourself, and leg it down out the door.

Real smooth, Genius. The logical side of your brain began to argue with you.

Hey, Fuck off brain. I was tired.

Oh? Well. Don't be up at 2:00am watching anime, then. You had to admit, brain had you cornered. Taking your phone out of your pocket, you checked the time.

"Crap. 11:45am, The registration starts at twelve giving me 15 minutes to climb a fucking mountain." So here was your current situation. You had fifteen minutes to climb a mountain, which in-turn leads you to Phoenix Cove Academy. You parents are dead so, you can't be driven there. Everyone else at the Orphanage probably hates your guts anyway for being so much better than them at everything, so they are a no-go. Everyone else at the academy, well, they probably couldn't give two fucks about you.

Good thing I can run. Otherwise I really would be in deep shit. Picking up the pace, you speed towards the stairs that lead up the mountain.

"How was that dear?" A tall red-headed woman stood, holding a young child's hand. The woman was tall and thin, and spoke with a gentle voice.

"Alright. I don't see why we didn't get the other film though. We could have just sent the squirt to bed." The brown haired man spoke with a gruff voice, rustling the young boy's, short, white, hair as he finished his sentence.

"I personally thought it was great! Wouldn't you agree, Mary?" Another man spoke, finishing his sentence with a stretch. The woman, who the man referred to as Mary, nodded in agreement. The group stood in the family living room, discussing topics about the film they'd just seen.

"Right. Son, you need to go to bed. You might need to sleep on the floor as your friend might have already taken the bed." The brown hair man stood up from the sofa, and yawned.

"Yes, Papa." The boy walked upstairs and into his bedroom, and closed the door. Looking over to his bed, he found a young girl fast asleep. Sighing, he lies down next to the bed, and drifts off into a deep sleep...

Snapping out of your daydream, you find you are at the main gates of the Academy. Whipping your phone out of your pocket, you once again check the time. 12:00! CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAP. Launching yourself onto campus, you look around for the main hall. Ugh... No, No, No... YES! Frantically searching for the main hall, and finally, finding it.

"Jane Anne..."

"Here!"

"Jack Collen..."

"Here!"

"And The last of our entrants this year, Jason Icaru-" A loud bang interrupts the registration staff member and everyone in the hall looks to the main door for the source of the noise.

"JASON ICARUS, READY AND WAITING!" You yell, as you stand looking at all the seated students. You pant slowly to yourself, although in your old school you were known for your speed and stamina, stairs and kicking doors open were never your strongest areas.

"Ah... Mr.Icarus, How nice of you to join us... Did you run into traffic?" The staff member asks you sarcastically.

"No. I overslept." You reply bluntly, not really caring that you're late, earning a few giggles from the crowd.

"Oh. Well, The headmaster, Mr.Lee, wanted to see you. His office is the first building on the right as you exit this building. Now begone." The Receptionist waved his hand as if he was trying to shoo you away. Shrugging your shoulders, you walk out the door, and towards Mr.Lee's office.

You'd known the headmaster since you were young. You and your parents always went to visit them whenever you could, but due to family issues, you stopped visiting him and his family. When he heard your parents had passed away, he tried to comfort you, but to no avail. Finally, you reach the door to his office, taking a deep breath, you knock on the door.

"Come In!" The familiar voice of an old friend replied. Taking one last breath you grab the door handle, and walk inside.

Looking around, you spot Mr.Lee on a step ladder, sorting out various books, with his back to you, of course.

"Who is it? I'm rather busy right now." The teacher said as moved a book into place.

"Sir, I am hurt that you'd even come close to forgetting me, despite the fact that YOU were the one who summoned me... Are you so busy you can't see me?" You say in a exaggerated sad voice. Upon saying this, you notice Mr.Lee freeze. He turns his head slowly, with a huge smile plastered on his face.

"Jason! My boy, How've you been?" Leaping off the step ladder, he embraces you in a welcoming hug. "I'm so sorry for not being there for you when you needed it, I hope you can forgive me..."

"It's fine sir, I don't think they would've wanted you to worry about me, and losing focus on your career." You pull away from the hug, noticing the warm smile on the headmasters face.

"Oh, But I owe a great deal to you!" He hesitates for a moment "However, that is a story for another time. For now, lets lead you to your dorm! I'm sure you'll like it, and your roommate." You stare blankly at him for a moment "I'll give you a hint, the dorms are co-ed..." Co-ed?! OH JESUS. YES. Wait... he says that as if I already know my roommate...

"Ah." WELL. That's all you can say!? Damn it brain, think harder! Walking over to the door, Mr.Lee ushers you to his side and out the door.

"All students are still either in lesson or in their free period. But, Come boy! We have much to discuss!"
