The rays of the beautiful sun shined brightly over Equestria. More specifically, the sun shined right along the local high school, Canterlot High School. The ringing of the school bell signified the end of another tumultuous school day, the students poured out the front door to freedom. Many of them were excited seeing it was now summer vacation, a whole season to do whatever they please. One of those students is Twilight Sparkle, the lavender-colored teen clutching her schoolbooks close to her chest as she leaves the school. From her backpack, a little purple puppy and best friend, Spike, popped out.

“So, what’s the first thing we should do for summer vacation?” Spike asked, excitedly.

“First thing I’m going to do is head to the library,” Twilight smiled.

Spike groaned, face-pawing as he shook his head. Of course, this is what Twilight Sparkle would do for fun. When not at school, she practically lived in the library.

“Twilight, you go to the library every day and when you do, you don’t come home till just before dinner. By then its too late to do anything else.”

“Sorry Spike, but knowledge knows no amount of time.”

Just as Spike was about to argue, Rainbow Dash zipped toward the two on her skateboard screeching to a halt in front of Twilight. She kicked up the board and caught it in her hand, smirking at Twilight.

“What’s up, Twi?” She greeted.

“Not much Rainbow,” Twilight responded. “Just heading to the library.

Rainbow, much like Spike, groaned hearing the response.

“Really, Twilight? Do you have to be an egghead all the time?”

“It’s just what I like to do.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know. But it’s summer vacation, you can go to the library all you want when school starts back up. In the meantime, you should try to do something more… ‘Awesome’ this summer.”

“Like what?”

Rainbow rubbed her chin, considering the question. Just then, a thought popped in her head.

“How’s about you coming over to my place tonight for a sleepover?” Rainbow suggested.

“A sleepover?” Twilight questioned. “Gee, I don’t know, Rainbow.”

“Come on, I already invited the rest of the girls and they all said they’re coming. Why don’t you?”

Twilight pondered for a moment. On one hand, she could spend time with her friends while sleeping over at Rainbow’s house. But on the other hand, she could do what she wanted from the start and head straight to the library. Ultimately, she decided that spending time with her friends was much better than being by herself.

“You know, I can always go to the library any day this summer,” Twilight smiled. “I’ll see you later tonight, Rainbow.”

Rainbow smiled wide, giving Twilight a pat on the shoulder.

“Awesome! You won’t regret this! Oh, by the way, you might want to bring your swimsuit. My parents just bought this sweet hot tub and it is…”

“’Awesome’?” Twilight finished.

“Exactly!” Rainbow smirked, winking her eye.

Rainbow threw her skateboard back on the ground, skating off at super-sonic speed home. Twilight shook her head, smiling while looking after her rainbow-haired friend.

“Looks like somebody’s going out tonight,” Spike smiled.

Twilight turned her head, giving the little puppy a scratch behind the ears while smiling.

“Yes, Spike. I suppose we are.”

Spike ducks back into her backpack, as Twilight starts walking toward home. Tonight, she planned to have the most amazing time with the best group of friends a girl can ever ask for.

The sky shined with a colorful blend of red, orange, and yellow haze as it sets over the horizon. Twilight, lugging along a duffle bag, approaches the front door of Rainbow Dash’s house. Spike pops out of the duffle back, as Twilight smiled down at him before knocking on the door. The door itself quickly flung open, as Twilight felt herself yanked inside and wrapped in a bone-crushing hug. The one delivering this hug was none other than her energetic, party-loving, pink friend, Pinkie Pie.

“Yippee!” Pinkie cheered, excitedly. “I’m so happy you made it, Twilight!”

“P-P-Pinkie!” Twilight wheezed. “Can’t b-breath!”

“Ooopsie!”

Pinkie immediately released Twilight, the lavender girl breathing heavily as she tried to catch her breath. Thankfully she didn’t have any cracked ribs, which would in fact sometimes happen whenever Pinkie hugs people.

“Sorry Twilight,” Pinkie apologized. “I’m just so excited for tonight!”

“It’s okay, Pinkie,” Twilight gasped. “I’ll live.”

It was then the rest of Twilight’s friends made their way into the main hall to meet their friend. Rainbow Dash came first, followed closely by Applejack, Rraity, Fluttershy, and Sunset Shimmer.

“Ya’ll went and over did the hug again, didn’t yah Pinkie?” Applejack asked.

“I said I was super-duper-mega-mondo sorry,” Pinkie said. “It’s just I always get excited whenever we get a chance to spend time together. Honestly, I thought Twilight was going to spend all her summer at the library again, but then…”

As Pinkie Pie rambled on, Twilight took the opportunity to greet and hug the rest of her friends.

“It is mighty nice ya’ll could come, Twilight,” Applejack smiled, mid-hug.

“Oh yes, darling,” Rarity nodded. “It would have been simply dreadful if you weren’t able to join us.”

“We can always count on you to spend time with us, Twilight,” Fluttershy said, softly.

“Knowing Twilight here, when it comes to us or her reading, it’s a pretty close call,” Sunset smirked. “Could’ve gone either way, right Twilight?”

“Ha-ha, so funny,” Twilight replied. “I ‘did’ think about it, but I could always spend all my time at the library whenever. But then I considered it be a great first day of summer if I spent it with my best friends.”

It was then Rainbow Dash decided to cut into the conversation.

“Alright, come on, you girls,” She teased. “This is started to get a little mushy-gushy for my taste.”

“So Dashie, what sort of super, fantastic, amazingly, splendiferous fun activities are on the agenda tonight?” Pinkie asked, excitedly.

“I’m glad you asked, Pinkie,” Rainbow responds, raising her eyebrow. “I say we kick things off with a dip in the hot tub, we’ll order up a huge pizza, totally pig out, and gather around the living room for some T.V. time!”

Everybody cheered at the idea, starting the first activity of the night. It wasn’t long before the girls quickly changed into their swimwear, making their way to the back patio where the hot tub rested. They all climb in, relaxing as the hot water soothes and relaxes their muscles.

“Oh yes,” Rarity sighed, blissfully. “This is simply divine!”

“Ah completely agree with yah there, sugar cube,” Applejack agreed.

“How were your parents able to afford this, Rainbow Dash?” Fluttershy asked.

“My dad got a new promotion at work, meaning a bigger pay raise,” Rainbow replies, lazily. “That means we could totally afford this baby and we can enjoy it whenever we want.”

Everybody leaned along the side, enjoying the warm water. Pinkie merely bounced in her seat excitedly.

“Oh my gosh, this is so much fun! Sitting in a nice hot tub together, makes me feel like I’m in the biggest pot of soup!”

Pinkie reached behind her, pulling out a cutting board, a few vegetables, and a knife. She quickly chops the vegetables, dumping the thin slices into the water. Twilight lazily turns toward her rambunctious friend, giving her a confused look.

“What are you doing, Pinkie?” Twilight asked.

Pinkie turns toward Twilight, giving her an innocent smile.

“What does it look like I’m doing silly? I said it ‘feels’ liking being in a big pot of soup, all the best soups have veggies in them.”

The other girls turn toward Pinkie as she kept chopping and dumping vegetables into the water.

“Pinkie, you’re not actually making soup out of us, are you?” Sunset asked, seriously.

“Of course not!” Pinkie assured. “If I were to make soup out of all of us, I’d need a bunch of broth. You know, now that I think about it, I believe I have some…”

“Alright, ah’m outta here,” Applejack said, quickly getting out.

“Right behind you,” Rainbow added.

“Ladies first, darling,” Rarity gasped.

Fluttershy, Sunset, and Twilight quickly jump out of the tub joining their friends in the house. Pinkie looked after them confused, munching on a carrot while shaking her head.

“Some people just aren’t big fans of veggie soup.”

Soon afterwards, Pinkie Pie came back inside and rejoined the girls. By then, they just changed back into their usual attire and dried their hair.

“Pinkie Pie, I swear,” Rarity threated. “If I find any vegetable in my beautiful hair, I’ll personally ensure you will have to pay!”

“Come on, Ms. Grumpy Gus,” Pinkie smiled. “Chill out and put a smile on that face. You can’t party without a smiley face!”

She reached out, using her two index fingers to curve Rarity’s mouth into a smile. Rarity reached up and used her own fingers to pull that smile back into a frown.

“Honestly Pinkie, you know how hard I work to maintain my hair. I have no desire to be digging out a bunch of vegetables stuck in it.”

“Come on, Rarity,” Sunset groaned. “Your hair is just fine.”

“Please don’t fight girls,” Fluttershy whimpered. “This is supposed to be a fun night.”

The sound of hands clapping got everyone’s attention. They all turned to see Rainbow waving her hands around.

“Alright you guys, chill out,” Rainbow called out. “We not here to start any fights… Otherwise, I’d have to sell tickets. Tonight, it’s all about having fun this summer and that’s what we’re gonna do. Now… Follow me.”

She led them all into the living room area, where a large assortment of snacks and beverages surrounded the largest pizza in town. All set up in front of a large, big screen television. There was even a couple plus bean bag chairs set up for everyone.

“Now I believe it’s time we all sit down and enjoy a nice movie marathon,” Rainbow suggested. “Wouldn’t you say?”

Everybody smiled, nodding as they gather around. Each girl sat in their own plush bean bag chair and started digging into the pizza and snacks. Spike hopped into Twilight’s lap, as she starts stroking his back as he snuggles alongside her. Rainbow grabs the remote, turns on the T.V. and flips through channels. Sadly, every channel they pass through didn’t seem to offer anything good to watch. Soon enough, they all started to get bored.

“Man, is there nothing good on T.V. tonight or something?” Sunset groaned.

“Lately it seems like the case all the time,” Rarity sighed.

Just then, a little imaginary light bulb went off in Rainbow’s head. She remembered today was Friday and she knew exactly what they should watch. Quick as a flash, she zips through the rest of the channels while everyone else looked confused.

“Rainbow, what are you doing?” Twilight asked.

“Yeah I mean, ya’’ll going a little fast there,” Applejack said, amazed. “Ah’m surprised the television ain’t exploded by now.

“Trust me guys,” Rainbow smirked. “You’re gonna want to see what’s on tonight.”

Finally, she found the channel she searched for and everyone turned back to see what she put on T.V. On screen a giant wrestling ring appeared, inside of an arena packed with screaming fans. The camera pans over to an announcers table where three men sat around doing commentary. These men were known as Tom Phillips, Bryon Saxton, and Corey Graves.

“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen!” Tom introduced. “And welcome to Friday Night Smackdown!”

“Gentlemen, we are in for an action-packed night here tonight on Smackdown,” Byron said. “Tonight, we’re going to see the Smackdown Women’s Championship up for grabs as Bayley defends her championship against Lacey Evans.”

“Yeah, and not to mention we finally see the king of WWE, King Corbin finally putting an end to Roman Reigns as they will collide tonight for the last time,” Corey said, smugly.

“That’s nothing compared to the main event of the evening,” Tom informed. “As there will be a Six Pack elimination match to determine the number one contender for the Universal Championship between Daniel Bryan, The Miz, Shinsuke Nakamura, Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, and Braun Strowman!”

Back in Rainbow’s living room, Rainbow herself was excited and entranced in the programming. Everyone else looked rather shocked.

“Totally awesome!” Rainbow exclaimed, excitedly.

“My word darling, how can you watch such programming?” Rarity asked, appalled. “Wrestling is so barbaric!”

“I have to agree with Rarity on this one, Rainbow,” Twilight agreed.

“What are you guys talking about?” Rainbow asked. “The things they do on these shows are amazing; I mean they’re like real-life superheroes!”

“How did ya’ll even find this here show, anyhow?” Applejack asked.

“I’ve never seen it on television before,” Fluttershy whispered.

“No idea, I was just flipping through channels one day and this pops out of nowhere,” Rainbow responded. “I was so blown away; I’ve watched and enjoyed every episode these past few months. I can’t wait for my guy Roman Reigns to kick the tar out of that smug King Corbin!”

Rarity gasped, hearing such words from her friend’s mouth.

“Rainbow Dash, I’m surprised at you! How could you possibly approve such violence being inflicted on another human being?”

Rainbow rolled her eyes, groaning. Of course, if anybody could take all the fun out of wrestling, it would be Rarity.

“Trust me Rarity, just give the show a chance,” Rainbow assured. “You’ll love it before you know it.”

“I highly doubt that,” Rarity replied, skeptical. “But seeing as how I don’t really have much choice in the matter, I will try to get through it.”

“Your encouragement is very reassuring,” Rainbow spoke, sarcastically.

“I guess there’s no harm in giving it a try, right?” Sunset shrugged.

“If it gets too much, we can just flip the channel to another station,” Twilight added.

“Agreed!” The rest replied.

Nevertheless, the girls lean back into their chairs as the show began. However, just before the action could truly start, the television starts to flicker and go hay wire. Rainbow groaned, pushing off her chair and approaches the television, giving it a light tap with her palm.

“Come on, you piece of junk,” She grumbled.

“Maybe it’s just the satellite,” Twilight suggests.

“No, it’s just this cable provider. I swear if this isn’t the cheapest…”

Suddenly, the television starts to shake and rattle. Rainbow’s eyes grew wide, as she starts to back up. Everyone else looked rather spooked, even Spike jumped up as Twilight held him close.

“What’s going on, Rainbow?” Fluttershy asked, fearfully.

“I have no idea,” Rainbow shook her head.

“Is it just me or is anybody else get this strange sense of déjà vu?” Pinkie asked.

Just then, a massive whirlpool opens, and a strange sensation starts pulling the girls toward the television. They all scream, as the force lifts them in midair and sucks them into the whirlpool. They spin round and round for what felt like the longest time. Eventually, they fall flat on the ground as everything fades to black.
