Fluttershy snuggled Scootaloo in her wing while the filly nestled up against her. They were reclining on the blue sheets of Scootaloo's bed, Fluttershy laying on her tummy reading from a book of fairy tales while Scootaloo's eyes grew heavier and heavier. A yawn broke from her lips and Fluttershy smiled. "...And then Surprise promised to only use her fun tricks to amuse and never to harm ever again. The end."
Scootaloo yawned and squirmed beneath Fluttershy's wing, sleep just about to claim her. Fluttershy picked up the book, floated off the bed. Scootaloo ducked under the covers, laying her head on the pillow. Fluttershy sat again on the bed and began to sing Scootaloo's favorite lullabye.
"Hush now, quiet now..." Her soft voice crooned the song as she laid on the bed. "It's time to lay your sleepy head...it's time to go to bed..." Scootaloo's heavy eyes closed completely as Fluttershy came to the end of her song. Seeing that she was asleep, Fluttershy fluttered off the bed once more, opened up a drawer and pulled out some pull-ups which were decorated with pink and yellow butterflies. Gliding silently over to where Scootaloo was lightly slumbering, she pulled away the covers. Scootaloo's eyes sprang open. "No."
Fluttershy cocked her head. "No?"
For good measure, Scootaloo shook her head. Fluttershy sighed heavily. Scootaloo always seemed to misbehave or be slightly more defiant when her papa was out of town on a delivery which fortunately happened rarely. "Scootaloo, you have to wear your big filly diapers."
Scootaloo stuck out her tongue. Fluttershy sighed again. "You know what will happen if you don't."
"I'm a big filly."
The wet diaper she'd had on that morning was evidence that she was not. Fluttershy settled onto the mattress. "Mommy knows you've been dry these last two weeks during the day and that's why she's not making you wear daytime pull-ups anymore." She slid next to her, held her close. Scootaloo was stiff, but gave in and rested on her barrel. "But Mommy doesn't think you're ready to do that at night and she doesn't want to make you feel like you have to when you don't yet."
Scootaloo once more shook her head. "But I can."
Fluttershy booped her muzzle. "If you're dry for a month, I'll let you try."
Scootaloo's lips jutted in a pout and she looked like she was about to argue some more, but sleep was quickly catching up to her. "...I'm a big filly..." Was the last thing she mumbled before the silly filly laid her head back on the pillow and she could no longer keep her eyes from closing. Fluttershy leaned down, planted a kiss on her forehead. "Goodnight. I love you."
"Love you, Mommy." Scootaloo turned over again.
Then, with a practiced movement, she pulled up her backlegs and slid the pull-ups down and onto the sleeping child. She pulled the blanket back over her and trotted out of the room, turning off the light and closing the door behind her so softly that she didn't make a sound that might wake Scootaloo back up.

Scootaloo turned around in bed, waking up in total darkness, cocooned by her blankets. The familiar, crinkly garment around her waist reminded her that her mommy still didn't think she was a big filly. She pouted and started to think. How could she ever prove she was a big filly-and she was!-if Mommy kept sending her to bed in big filly diapers?
It was true, she'd had an uh-oh that morning. But she had gone potty that evening and she hadn't drunk any water before bed. It'd been forever-which meant two weeks-since she'd had daytime uh-ohs and Mommy was letting her not wear pull-ups (though one puddle would get her put back in them and Daddy had even suggested she get "a spanked behind" if she did that, but Mommy had told him she was sure they wouldn't need to and only Mommy spanked so Scootaloo felt pretty safe about it. Not that Mommy would need to do that as Scootaloo knew to go to the potty. Or at least she did during the day. Night was a little more problematic.)
Scootaloo clutched her teddy bear. Night time could be a little scary. She popped her tail in her mouth, sucked it. Sometimes, she woke up knowing she was supposed to go, but was too comfortable in bed. Or afraid a monster would get her. Other times, she just forgot she was supposed to go potty. She didn't why it was so hard to remember at night.
But she knew she could!
She wondered how she could show that though. In her sleep addled state, she began to think of a solution. If she went a night without her diapers that might show Mommy.
But the diaper was fully fixed to her flank.
Wait.
These were pull-ups so she could go to the potty.
If they could be pulled up then they could be pulled down.
Sleep logic formulated the perfect plan in the toddler's mind. That plan led her to shimmying out of the pull-ups, setting them aside. Mommy would be so proud that she went the whole night without a diaper and stayed dry. She'd probably even give her a cookie. Scootaloo loved cookies. Thinking about cookies lulled Scoots back to sleep where she was dreaming about cookies.
She rolled over, squirmed a bit in her bed. She briefly felt a pressure, but sleep had claimed her completely. In her dream she looking for a potty. Her brain was sending her more signals, but they just weren't getting through.
You have to potty and you are not wearing your diaper, you have to potty and you are not wearing your diaper, YOU HAVE TO GO POTTY- Her brain was screaming at her now, but Scootaloo decided she was a big filly. She could hold it right? That's what big fillies did.
She was long in sleep by the time her bladder released its burden.

Pink and golden rays stretched through the window blinds of Scootaloo's room as the light of the world returned, Celestia guiding the orb from its own rest. A chorus of blue jays greeted the sun, perched in the branches of the trees that surrounded the cottage. The world was so still that Scootaloo could hear the rush of a gentle breeze stirring over the waters of the river.
She squirmed, rolling away from an uncomfortable wet spot. Then her eyes sprang open. The morning light brought new clarity to Scootaloo and she scrambled away from the wet spot, fluttering her wings which were able to hold her in the air for a second or two-then they gave out and she fell onto the mattress. Luckily, she did not fall into the wet spot.
Her lips trembled and her ears fell back. Part of her mind allowed the possibility that her mommy had been very right. She wasn't a big girl, or at least she wasn't enough of one to keep her sheets dry. She almost cried, but that would alert her mommy. And mommy might not be happy. Mommy might not be happy about this at all.
Tail instinctively clutched to her behind, Scootaloo tried to think of a way out of her predicament. The fist thing that came to mind was putting her pull-up back on so that's what she did. She grabbed the thing in her mouth, then stopped. Mommy was the one who put this on her. Sure, she pulled it up after she went potty, but she had never put it on all by herself. How did Mommy do this?
She stood up on her hinds, balancing with her unusually little wings which she flapped like a hummingbird.
Not fast enough apparently as she stumbled the second she attempted to stand on one leg. She fell back and whined as she hit the ground. She scrambled back up and glared at the crinkly garments which had fallen out of her mouth.
They were going on her heiny. It was a matter of pride now. She had managed to get them off so now she was going to get them on. She picked them back up, stood up on her hinds again-remembering to use her wings for balancing-and pulled up one backleg.
She tumbled again. Growling she laid on her back-that's how Mommy changed her anyway-and flailed her back legs in the air. She took the pull-ups in her front legs and attempted to put them over her back legs, but her short front legs were not nearly long enough to get to her hinds no matter how much she squirmed. Groaning, she gave up.
Deciding on a new tactic, she set the pull-ups aside and turned her attention to the lamentably very wet sheets. They weren't even a little wet. They were a lot wet. Scootaloo was sure she hadn't even drank that much yesterday.
The solution to this was a whole lot easier. She simply took the sheets between her teeth and ripped it off her bed. The sheets billowed outward-and fell on top of her.
"Ewwww!" She flailed around as the sheets wrapped her up. The little foal valiantly struggled, eventually knocking the sheets away and down onto the ground. Scrambling over to her closet, she stuffed the sheets into the closet, quickly slamming the door shut.
Then, she turned her attention back to the pull-ups. Maybe she could tell Mommy she took them off to go potty and couldn't get them back on. Even though she had. Many, many times before.
And how to explain the missing sheets? She didn't know and was just hoping Mommy wouldn't notice.
Glaring at the pull-ups, she decided to give it one more try. She laid onto her back and slid one back leg through the leg hole. Her wings happily fluttered and she grinned broadly at her success. Lifting both of her hinds into the air, she ended up tumbling over completely. The pull-up slipped completely off of her back leg. She hopped up and down, pounding her little hooves, nearly on the verge of a tantrum.
Lying back down, she repeated the maneuver, slipping the pull-up over her left back hoof. Success! She smiled and then stuck out her right back leg. Nearly there. She flapped her wings to stop herself from flipping over again, instinct guiding her into a stable pose as she shimmed her right back leg into the leg hole. Then she gave a little hop and rolled over onto her belly.
She stood up and then onto her back legs, reaching down to pull up her "big filly" diaper, putting her hooves into loops to pull them up. Then she hopped back onto the bare mattress and pulled up the blankets. Mommy would never know now!
Feeling perfectly content with her plan, she soon found herself lulled to a second, morning slumber. She didn't hear the door creaking open nor Fluttershy's soft steps as she trotted into the room. Fluttershy paused, sniffed the air. Yep. Some filly was definitely not ready to go to bed without protection though she couldn't help but smile at Scootaloo's insistence the night before. That pride of hers was something Fluttershy hoped she would nurture and keep-though she needed to develop a bit of common sense as well.
Internally, she scolded herself for that thought. Scootaloo was only a foal-she couldn't be expected to have too much in the way of sense, she hadn't had enough experience for that yet even if she was (for her age) a very bright filly.
Then, as she crossed the room, she stopped.
Instead of Scootaloo's sheets on the bed, she saw only a mattress covered by a blanket. Oh, Sweetie. Please don't tell me... Scootaloo had probably leaked through her pull-ups, gotten scared she'd done something naughty and hid them so as to avoid a scolding or more serious reprimand. Following her nose, she pulled open the closet and discovered what she'd expected to find-wet sheets.
She took them out and then went over to where Scootaloo was still in a light sleep, nuzzling the filly awake. "Honey, it looks like you leaked through your pull-ups and wet the bed last night. You don't need to hide the blankets like that."
Scootaloo's ears perked up. "Y-yeah."
There was a nervous tone to her voice. Fluttershy smiled. "Now let's get that stinky pull-up off of you."
Scootaloo clutched the sheets. Fluttershy frowned. Why wouldn't Scootaloo want a change? She quickly pulled back the sheets. Scootaloo cringed and blushed though her pull-ups were dry. Completely dry.
Fluttershy looked down at her little filly, a very disappointed expression on her face. "Scootaloo. Did you take your pull-up off last night?"
Scootaloo looked away, studiously avoiding her mother's gaze. Fluttershy slid a hoof under her chin. "You'll be in a lot less trouble if you tell the truth."
Her ears folded back. "I took dem off."
Fluttershy counted to three. "Why did you do that?"
"Cause I thought I was big filly."
Fluttershy sadly shook her head. "But you're not."
Scootaloo laid her head back on the pillow, looked away from Fluttershy. Fluttershy patted her mane. "Go stand in the corner. Mommy's going to wash these sheets."
Deciding further disobedience was unwise, Scootaloo hopped off the bed and trudged into the corner, muzzle against the wall. Fluttershy stepped off the bed and picked up the wet sheets. A time-out might do the trick, Fluttershy tried to convince herself as she walked out of the room. Having to sit still was quite the ordeal for Scootaloo.
She walked down the wooden floor of her cottage, pushing open the bathroom door and tossing the sheets into the laundry basket. Counting two minutes in her head, she walked back down the hall. The time-out was for lying. She walked back into Scootaloo's bedroom. Scootaloo was obediently in the corner even if she was shifting from side to side.
Fluttershy laid down on her belly. "Scootaloo. Come here."
Head and tail hanging low, the filly trotted over to where Fluttershy was. Fluttershy cleared her throat. "You know what lying is don't you?"
Scootaloo nodded.
"When you hide things from Mommy, that's also lying. That's why I gave you a time-out."
Scootaloo shuffled a hoof as if knowing-and dreading-what was coming next. Fluttershy steeled her heart. "But Mommy's also going to give you a spanking."
Scootaloo whined and stepped back. "No spanky!"
Fluttershy reached out her wing and pulled her close. Scootaloo nuzzled close to her, despite her fear of the coming punishment. She stroked Scootaloo's back. "You don't listen. You knew to keep your pull-up on. Mommy has told you to do that so many times before." A shudder passed through her. "You just wet the bed this time. But one day, you're not going to listen and you're going to get hurt." She trembled. "Mommy...Mommy can't let you get hurt."
Before Scootaloo could make any further protests or pleas to save her behind, Fluttershy knelt, taking Scootaloo's hoof and pulling her across her lap, Scootaloo's bottom sticking out. After pulling down the pull-ups and exposing Scootaloo's bare backside, she drew back her foreleg and lightly swatted her bottom. Scootaloo jumped at what was only the mildest sting and Fluttershy landed two more swats, firm enough to be uncomfortable. Scootaloo whined as a few more claps fell onto her rump, starting to squirm. Fluttershy laid a hoof on her back, both as comfort and a way to keep her in place.
She continued to slap her tushy, never putting too much force into it, only enough to make the disobedient, orange filly squirm across her lap. While the spanks were soft, each one left a bloom of heat onto her backside. Fluttershy gave a second long pause between each spank before picking up the steady cadence of rump slaps once more. Now Scootaloo was squeaking and kicking her back legs, not crying, but letting her discomfort be known. Her bottom was growing pink beneath the swats.
Fluttershy paused. "You must listen to Mommy, understand?" Each word was punctuated with a soft spank that still made her jump and jiggled the foal fat on her bottom. Scootaloo yelped at a slightly more forceful swat, Fluttershy's hoof now moving directly to the center of her sit spots. Back and forth she moved her hoof, popping her pinkening rear. Scootaloo's little cries made her pause.
The spanking was going to come to an end very soon, but it wasn't over yet. Several stinging swats fell onto her tushy, making Scootaloo kick her back legs even more forcefully and start to cry in a way that nearly broke her heart. Scootaloo's bottom was now painted spanked foal pink and Fluttershy only landed five last swats to the very center of her warm behind.
Then, just as quickly as the spanking had begun it was over. Now it was time for the mother and daughter's favorite part. She collected the whining foal in her lap, cradled her in the loving embrace of her wings. Scootaloo sniffled and nuzzled into her, Fluttershy nuzzling the top of her head. After a few moments, Scootaloo forgot why she was crying. Fluttershy moved her wing up and down her back in a gentle caress, soothingly caressing her stinging backside.
"Are you going to be a good filly, Sweetie?"
Scootaloo sniffled and nestled deep into her chest floof. "Yes Mommy."
"There's Mommy's good filly." She nickered over her. Scootaloo remained cozied up in the cuddle. Her wings were so warm, a safe, sheltering embrace, giving her a sense that she really had been forgiven for the morning naughtiness. She wrapped her little forelegs around Fluttershy. Fluttershy only held her tight within the feathery hug. While Scootaloo's pink tushy would be stinging for a while longer, Fluttershy was brushing her back with her wing while Scootaloo just rested in the embrace.
"Um..."
Both looked up. Big Mac was standing in the doorway. He strode further inside and Scootaloo squirmed out of Fluttershy's embrace and zoomed towards the stallion, gleefully yelling "Daddy!"
Big Mac caught her in a one-legged hug. "Hi there, little filly." He placed her down. Blushing, Scootaloo stepped out of the foalish garment. Big Mac gave Fluttershy a questioning glance and she strode over, greeting her husband with a nuzzle.
Big Mac kissed her cheek. "Did she just get a spankin'?"
"Yes she did." She leaned into his warm solidness.
"Do I comfort her or you?" He wrapped his neck around hers.
"Both of us?"
He smiled, kissed her, a kiss she returned while Scootaloo attached herself to her father's leg. Big Mac lifted his hoof and rubbed her mane. "I heard you were naughty?"
Scootaloo's ears drooped and she shuffled her hoof. "I wet da bed."
Big Mac raised an eyebrow. "Your mama spanked ya just because ya wet the bed?"
Scootaloo shuffled her hoof again, avoiding Big Mac's gaze. "I took off my pull-up. I thought I could be big filly."
He stroked her back, the space between her wing joints. "You don't gotta be. Not yet. Well, I reckon if ye wanna be a big, helpful filly, ye can help me pull the cart."
Scootaloo didn't often understand everything big Ponies said but she understood "help" "pull" and "cart." She excitedly hopped up and down, her wings happily fluttering. "Yes, Daddy!"
Fluttershy and Big Mac smiled at each other. One of Scootaloo's favorite things to do-and a channel for her relentless energy-was to "help" at Sweet Apple Acres by pulling a little toy cart which could be filled with about five apples.
Scootaloo pounced on her papa once more and received a gentle nuzzle from him. Fluttershy hugged both of them and Big Mac nuzzled her while Scootaloo hugged her foreleg. Fluttershy at last pulled away. "I bet both of you want some breakfast!"
"Eeyep!"
"Pancakes?"
She smiled, began to trot out as the followed her. "Pancakes sound lovely."
