So I forgot I named Iron's friend Silver Guard.
Dreams and Duty
Iron Feather stood at his post. Outside the window the castle grounds glowed in a way that made it hard to tell the time of day.
He noticed Princess Luna trot by sparing him a quick glance. A shiver ran down his spine as he recognizes a mischievous glint in her eye.
Blinking he was now outside Luna's bedchamber, guarding her door. Not reacting to the change in position Iron Feather gave the area a quick scan.
It wasn't long before the princess approached her rooms. Giving the guard another once-over she proceeds through the doors.
Iron Feather was now inside the bedroom as Luna entered. She swings to one side towards her bathroom, shedding her regalia as she moves.
From the corner of his eye, he sees her tail lift up and to the side showing off her marehood. The guard quickly focuses directly in front of himself and sees Luna's bed.
He noticed that he was now at the bedside as the Lunar Diarch crawls onto the bed and lays out in an enticing pose.
She looks at him with a beckoning glance.
Iron Feather finds himself standing atop the bed directly above Luna while maintaining his guarding posture.
As she smirks and begins moving under him Iron Feather jolts awake.
Panting at the dream he had he feels his member bounce against his stomach. Noting how aroused he was the guard takes matter into hoof.
Meeting up with his friend the next day before their shift started, Iron relays his dream to Silver.
“So I was thinking, Since Princess Luna can enter a ponies dream, how can you tell if it's her in your dream or just a dream version?” He asks his friend.
Silver Guard ponders for a moment, “I don't think you can, but I'll ask one of the Lunar Guards. They might have a better insight working the night shift alongside her.”
As the finish getting armoured up Iron remarks, “Your suit has that fresh forged smell. They did a great job cleaning it.”
“I think they didn't clean it and just gave me new armour. It's pinching me in the same way the old set did when I first got it after finishing training.” Silver replied.
“So they scrapped the old set? What kinda mess did Blueblood make?” Inquired Iron.
“You don't want to know. I know, and I wish I didn't.” His friend stated, waving his hoof about.
After checking where they were posted for their guard duty that day the two separated until lunch.
Iron was munching lightly on his food when Silver plopped down next to him.
“So I managed to find one of the night guards awake and asked them about Luna's dream-walking. Normally she'll announce herself and help whichever pony whose nightmare she's in. Though she doesn't have to do that so the only way to tell would be if she's not acting like herself.” He exposited as he began to poke as his meal from the mess line.
“Considering what happened in the hallway the other day, I can't be sure then if it was her or not. I really hope it was just a dream.” Iron said dejectedly.
Silver, through half a mouth of food replies, “You know how many stallions would give their left, hell even their right, hoof to have a single night with one of the princesses? You almost had 2. Stud to the Night.” Elbowing his friend alongside the last words.
Iron Feather hung his head. “I mean it's not like it isn't enticing. I just don't think I could keep up to her. While she hasn't been around as long as her sister, she's definitely more, uhh, venerable than either Princess Cadence or Twilight. As Celestia is the only on to compare with, have you heard about some of the ponies who have tried to court her?” He requested with a sad tone.
“Yeah, of the ones she actually accepted, the longest one only pursued her for a week. The last one was decades ago however. Also I don't recall ever hearing her taking even just a courtier.” Silver stated as his face shifted to a thoughtful look.
“Exactly, while they are considered the peak of beauty, you don't really think of them as sexual, though if what Celestia said during that meeting the other day, she plays the same games as the maids do with us. That might be why you don't hear about her taking lovers, she puts on a disguise and seduces a guard.” Iron epiphanied.
Silver Guard looked at his friend with a look of minor shock. “A few of the guards have seen her take a normal pony's form to move about unnoticed. So it's possible. I'll have to check to see what that form looks like and see if any guards has had a maid with that description tease them.”
A small bell sounded letting the guards know that the hour had passed. The two friends bid each other luck with the rest of their shifts.
Iron Feather resumed his post in a fairly deserted part of the castle. It was a somewhat short hallway ending in a corner on either end. Standing next to a door in the center of the passage he helf his posture and watched the area.
It was quite boring with the only things in sight being a couple statues and some wall hangings to cover the uniform bare stone. Having stood there for several hours already he had plenty of time to study the patterns on the hangings.
Having only a couple hours left on his shift he started to plan out his evening. A trip to the bar with Silver, home for dinner and relaxing until bed.
A small glimmer caught the edge of his vision drawing his eyes. A pair of maids walked towards him cleaning the hall as they moved. One being an unicorn with a white coat and yellow mane and the other...
Iron suppressed a gulp as he recognized the 'maid' from the other day.
Eventually they got over to him, wearing mirror smirks as they moved towards him.
