Cruel Gabriel
The legend of Cruel Gabriel
Load Full Story"Sis, could ya tell me a story before ah go to bed?" Apple Bloom asked as kindly as possible.
"Well, ah don't have anything else to do right now, so why not. What kind of story do ya'll want to hear?" Applejack asked as she put Apple Bloom on her lap.
"Ah want a scary one. So ah have something to rub in Diamond Tiara's face." Apple Bloom said smiling.
"A scary story eh? Ah think that ah know the perfect story." Applejack said with a smirk.
"Oh! What is it called?" Apple Bloom said bouncing up and down.
"The legend of Cruel Gabriel." Applejack answered smirking evilly.
"Oh! That sounds so scary." Apple Bloom said sarcastically to act tough.
"Okay, am ah goin' to tell this story or not." Applejack and Apple Bloom was quiet immediately.
"Cruel Gabriel was the most feared pirate of them all. No matter how cruel other pirates were Gabriel was always the cruelest. Gabriel was from a poor family and grew up forced to steal food and money so his family could survive.
Though except the harsh life Gabriel was a happy child. He was known as 'Honest Gabriel' at that time too. One day when he was out in the woods searchin' for sticks to the campfire when he tripped over something. He thought it was just a root at first, but when he looked closer he saw a treasure chest barely sticking out of the ground. He dug it up and when he opened it he found gold, diamonds and all kinds of valuable things. He carried the chest home and showed it to his family.
The family immediately wanted to sell it so they could get the money for it, but Gabriel was smart and told them that they should only sell some of the treasure so that they had somethin' to spare. The family became rich and got themselves a farm on the country side. Many years later Gabriel became a merchant and later became a captain on the ship 'The Honest Eagle'. Though his days as 'Honest Gabriel' were now numbered.
His mother and father had fallen ill with an incurable disease and when they died Gabriel was so grief stricken that he sold the family farm, took what was left of the treasure and left town. He took his younger brother with him and sailed out on the ocean vowin' to never come back. The last straw for Gabriel was when a navy ship mistook them for pirates and opened fire. One of the navy's cannonballs hit right under Gabriel's younger brother. A rope was tangled around his neck and when the floor below him gave in to the damage he was in a way hanged.
That proved to much for Gabriel as after that he became cold and mean. He and his crew hijacked a navy ship, renamed it 'Fantomas' and began a life of piracy. He spent many years robbing rich ships, banks and towns. Killing innocent people and earned himself the new nickname 'Cruel Gabriel'. Eventually he came over a large gold treasure and tried to escape from the navy who had had enough of his shenanigans. When he was surrounded and all hope looked to be out the sky became dark and the moon covered the sun. A giant wave washed over his ship and when it retreated Fantomas was gone. It said that his treasure washed up somewhere and that Cruel Gabriel's spirit guards it. It is said that if you get close to Gabriel's treasure you will hear him sing: Ah'm cruel Gabriel, you take care. Ah'll haunt ya here, there and everywhere. Rush to yer boat and sail real fast or the robber will pray that he's last. The one who tries to steal it though will meet their doom."
Apple Bloom shivered through the last line.
"Where is the treasure now?" Apple Bloom asked.
"Nobody knows. Everyone are just too scared of the story to search for it." Applejack said.
"Who did he sell the farm to?" Apple Bloom continued.
"The farm fell apart when Granny Smith was a filly, so ah don't know, but you need to sleep now." Applejack answered.
"Okay." Apple Bloom said disappointed.
"Good night Bloom." Applejack said before turning off the lights.
"Good night..." Apple Bloom said drifting off to sleep.
Applejack walked out of Apple Bloom's bedroom and walked into the living room where Big Mac and Granny Smith were sitting.
"Was it necessary to lie about the who Gabriel sold the farm to?" Applejack asked when she sat down next to Big Mac.
"Eeyup." Big Mac answered.
"She would have been scared really badly if she found out that Sweet Apple Acres once belonged to such a horrible man at such a young age." Granny Smith said.
"Yer probably right. We should wait a few years." Applejack said kicking herself for lying like that, but it was for the best and so she had to agree with that.
A.N: Well this was a really fun write.
Cruel Gabriel is a big part of my childhood and he still gives me the chills.
The backstory I wrote for him was almost entirely made up except for the Eclipse, giant wave and that Gabriel's spirit is guarding the treasure. Cruel Gabriel comes from Captain Sabertooth. This is usually portrayed in theater plays or animated movies.
Cruel Gabriel was something I had mixed feelings for. Sometimes I was scared out of my pants. Other times I thought he was awesome and now I find him Creepy and Cool at the same time.
Ya'll should try to watch Cruel Gabriel on the stage plays. Watch the 1994 performance or the 2004 performance. If you want to search English you have to search 'Gory Gabriel'.
Next thing i'll upload will be a new chapter to 'The 6 Outlaws', a new story I'm currently writing called 'Firestarter' or a new story I'm planning on creating which will be Red Dead Redemption inspired.
