Princess Dinky thought her students would be traumatised by her first letter. Actually, they wanted to hear more. So she told them the extreme measures she had to go to in order to hide her cutie mark and magic, including her ability to read minds and predict the future. She decided without her mentor Princess Twilight's help, because Dinky doesn't want to be her friend or student any more, and Twilight definitely shouldn't be a princess.
