Reyna Ruby Laine is new at Canterlot High.

And Ruby soon falls head over heels for the fiery-haired girl. Sunset is different from everyone Ruby has ever known before - and she likes it.

But she's not the only one who is falling in love. Ruby reminds Sunset of someone from her past in Equestria. The one part of her past that was a somewhat decent thing.

But Ruby isn't like the friends she quickly makes. They all have something special about them, more than just friendship: They have magic.

But Ruby doesn't. And that's not a thing that should make someone jealous of all their friends, right?
