I really enjoy doom. Maybe a bit toooo much. I would kill for the VR versions which is why I made this story a bit of vicarious living.
Rip and Tear Until it is Done
Twilight stood frustrated once more, another week of really annoying dignitaries, annoying citizens, and annoying paperwork. What was most annoying was Discord and Sombra. They told her they had been attending therapy together which surprised every element. Twilight thought this was good at first. They were always so helpful after, doing what was asked of them and usually to a perfect degree. But it wasn't good anymore. She hated seeing their satisfied faces, all happy, singing while doing paperwork, goofing off while solving problems. Twilight was no longer having a good time, she felt her anger boil. She just thought about Celestia, when she got angry or frustrated she would do breathing exercises. She took a few calm breaths, this was starting to work less and less the more she bottled up her anger. Then she heard her name.
“Twilight, Discord and I are going to therapy. We'll be back tomorrow as usual.” Sombra said waving a hoof of goodbye to Twilight.
That was it, how did two opposing entities of harmony easily deal with all this stress while she sat here, an agent of harmony, boiling with rage. She didn’t want to be angry at her people. But they were always so needy, answer this question, look over this rule, solve my problem, blah blah blah. She was going to follow them, she put a tracking spell on Sombra last minute before the portal closed and went to look into her crystal ball. Where were they going? She had to know, she looked into her crystal ball confused. What? That can’t be right. It showed them hovering over Fluttershy's house, that's where Discord put the entrance to his chaos dimension at. So he could just get his mail at Fluttershys and to be around her more. They said they were going to therapy together. Did they lie? Was it in the chaos dimension? She turned to the nearest door. Unbeknownst to Discord twilight figured out how to get into his realm. She was going to save it for something important. But this was too tempting, she wanted an answer. Her horn glowed and a door opened to the chaos realm. She heard something strange coming from the portal it sounded like the beginning to something. Some sort of game maybe.
“RIP AND TEAR UNTIL IT IS DONE” she heard Discord and Sombra echo the sound. She stepped through the portal and decided to watch, she wanted to know what was happening.
“You ready Sombra?” Discord asked as the game loaded up.
“Oh fuck yes, I am ready for this. Are you?” Sombra said prancing in place, he had been looking forward to this all week.
“Fuck yes.” Discord said with the snap of his fingers DIscord was holding some kind of weapon. The great thing about the chaos dimension is that you can experience anything you want in person. Discord kept all the weapons hand based for himself since he had the hands to use them, well paw and claw but you get the idea. He had to modify it for Sombra, but it wasn’t as hard as you would expect. Sombra shot any and all bullets out of his horn and used his shadow magic for more hands-on stuff. He used it for the chainsaw, the grapple and all the glory kills. Turns out he could make semi-permanent objects with his magic. Discord and Sombra cocked their BFGs which they had just earned in the past level. “Ready to test out our new toy?”
“Start the fucking game Discord!” Sombra screamed, he used to pretend the demons were, let's say, specific ponies, then specific concepts, but not anymore. He used it now to quell his rage and to keep it in check to give it a healthy outlet to manifest itself. Sombra's eyes went from green to red surrounded by purple flames.
Discord pressed the start button, this version of Doom was a tiny bit different, they just, well they took out all the story. Neither of them were there for that. They wanted to slaughter, absolutely slaughter demons. They could always watch the cut scenes later on metube. The level loaded fast, they were in a falling world surrounded by gore and monsters. “Let's do this!” Discord said with a smile.
Music started up as monsters rose from the ground. The two of them cocked their guns and magic. Sombra ran forward towards his target, two demons. He unloaded Combat Shotgun bullets onto them waiting for them to start flashing. When they did, he performed his first glory kill of the night, he broke one of their so-called arms in half and jammed it right into their eye. He turned to the next one and squished its head into pulp beneath his magic. While he was doing that Discord took care of the flying one, he lobbed a grenade into its mouth and it started to blink. Sombra saw and with a running start he jumped up onto the creature and brutally yanked it out its eye, killing it instantly. Discord below him was shooting his shotgun shells into several half-demon half-soldiers. Discord waited till they lit up then he performed three glory kills. Shoving a knife into one of their faces, smashing the faces of the other ones in on themselves. Then something awful happened, Sombra was low on bullets.
“Shit I’m low.” He said landing perfectly on the ground from just having killed a flying demon.
“Chainsaw.” Was Discord’s only response.
“Oh right,” Sombra said as he watched a demon saunter his way. He ran to and sawed straight into it. Blood went everywhere, on his fur, on the ground on Twilight's face. “Wait, What? Twilight?”
Twilight was agape in horror as she was covered head to toe in organ bits, Discord had made the effect incredibly realistic. “Now Twilight-”
“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING? I THOUGHT YOU WERE BEYOND RAGE?” She screamed at him.
He winced and Discord shouted, “what is wrong?” He had heard yelling but was too focused on killing demons to look to see what was happening.
“Twilight’s here and she is pissed,” Sombra said dejectedly.
“Well I can't pause the game, so hurry up and try and win her over. I’ll keep em at bay.” Said Discord drawing out his BFG once again.
Sombra took a breath and his eyes went from red to green, “Twilight, just give me a chance to explain. Please.”
“Go on,” she could not wait to see what excuse he was going to give her for this.
“Twilight. I want to get one thing straight these are illusions. These are not real, they are from what Discord calls, a video game. It’s a human thing. This one is really popular over there. The humans use it to relieve stress. I use it to release stress and pent up rage. I could rage at my friends instead of here, in a safe place. I don’t like bottling up all that rage. Do you think you can understand this?”
Twilight was surprised mostly because she did understand, she felt so pent up these days. “I understand….I understand! It’s all princess do this for me, princess do that for me, fix my problems, fix my country, treaty meeting this, treaty meeting that. It’s been so long since I could curl up with a good book. Don’t even get me started on stallions. I haven't had a date since I took over. No stallion seems to have the balls to approach me, so I spend every night alone. Even though I tried so hard not to be goddess-like. It’s all so-”
Discord poofed behind them and sighed “I just died. Which means they are coming here. Technically you're still in the game Sombra. Now, are you gonna help Sombra, or are we gonna lose all the progress we made?”
Sombra looked at Twilight than at discord “yes but I want Twilight to help us”
“What?’ they said in unison.
“Twilight I want you to think of everything that has frustrated you, let it come to the surface.” He said his eyes went back to being red “and released the anger you have bottled up onto these demons.”
Discord touched the top of her horn, “you are now a player. You have all the weapons. Chainsaw the enemies to get bullets, set them on fire for armor and I'm sure you’ll figure out the rest.” He had secretly given her ten lives, it was a lot but they were deep in the game and she had just started. “Just shoot at them like you would magic, feel it out. I don’t have much longer to explain.” He said as the demons came running at them, he just decided to let her have free magic rain as time was of the essence. “Good luck twilight!” He said charging at them with all his might.
Sombra looked at Twilight “it’s ok to feel angry and to let it out. Now let's go slaughter some demons.” Sombra said, chasing after discord.
Music changed Twilight looked at Sombra and Discord smashing in the head of their enemies and she thought about how annoyed she was. It was just all so much, the responsibilities, the demand on her as a pony. Soon her eyes turned and purple poured from them. She ran towards the demons focusing on her anger from that day. She yelled as she went with her gut, her magic rained shotgun shells onto her enemies. Suddenly they were blinking, something in her gut told her to attack. So she broke one of their arms and slammed it into their eye sockets, she jabbed a knife into one of their faces and she pulled some yellow thing off of one of their chests and slammed it into their mouth. She watched with glee as it exploded.
“WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO” she yelled into the air, adrenaline-raising higher and higher which only made her want to continue. She noticed a number above her twenty out of fifty-four. She wondered what it meant but not for long as more demons approached them. She turned to face them and not the counter and poured shotgun shells into several demons "would it kill you to solve your own damn problems? WOULD IT KILL YOU TO THINK FOR YOURSELF FOR ONCE IN YOUR DAMN LIFE?" She screamed at the demon. "AHHHGGGGGGGGG" She raged, feeling all the annoyance from all the things she was forced to do but did not want to. She noticed the counter went down to seventeen. It must be how many are left to kill, that has to be what the counter means.
She turned around to see more demons approach her and her friends, she charged at them. Sombra was busy with some sort of snake-like thing and Discord was battling some monsters with machines for upper limbs. She whipped out her magic that slowly formed into a chainsaw she was out of ammo and she was told what to do to get more. She picked up her chainsaw and slammed it right into the demon’s sides. It sprayed her with blood and amo, amo which she picked up and used to blast away the remaining demons. Suddenly there were more, flying ones. She watched Discord and Sombra take them on; they lobed three grenades at them and they all started to blink. She dove for the first one’s eyes, then the second, then the third, killing them in one fell swoop. "WOOOOO," she screamed once more.
Sombra stared at her in awe while Discord shot at more enemies. “That was so hot.” He said honestly. Twilight blushed realizing she got a tad carried away, then Sombra handed her a huge weapon that went into her horn. “Take this and use it on that guy, then glory kill him”
Twilight wordlessly shot it and sparkles came to her eyes as she watched the demon start to blink. She ran to it and tour it in two. She then shot through the hole she just made and the next demon blinked. She ran to it, grabbed onto its face and jaw bone, and tour its face in two. Sombra had a hard time focusing on the battlefield as it was memorizing to watch Twilight just slaughter everything in sight. The counter now read one, Twilight had killed most of the enemies which was pretty impressive. Then he heard a sound, “checkpoint complete,” Discord had put in some extra level checkpoints since they didn't have time to play the level to completion, it was sort of cheating but Discord refused to go back to the beginning of the level.
Twilight drew in heavy breaths the purple left her eyes, she felt good, she felt better.
Sombra walked up to the blood-covered Twilight, “You know, you covered in the blood of your enemies is a good look for you. It’s hot.” Sombra said, his voice deep and husky. He scooted closer to her. “Feel better. See now your anger is here. You didn’t push it on your friends accidentally or overreact at a bad time. See? Man, I’m so high on adrenaline I could fuck an entire city right now,” Sombra said suggestively, as he moved closer to Twilight. “Discord race me. I guess I have to work it off. What a shame.” He said slowly sauntering off hoping twilight would stop him.
“Sure!” Discord said, starting to run ahead, he assumed they would run some adrenaline off and then go back to playing the game.
Twilight suddenly caught Sombra in her magic and teleported them both away.
Discord looked back and sighed “crazy kids...how did she even get in here? I guess I’ll just have to ask later I don’t wanna walk in on….that.” He said to himself as he snapped up a telephone to call Fluttershy. “Hey shy you wanna play animal crossing new horizons? What was that? You wanna bring luna? Plans to kill Tom Nook...Fluttershy….yes I know he’s a crook…...yes…..” He sighed again “I’ll pick you up in fifteen minutes. We’ll bury the body in the woods I guess but that's not how the game is supposed to go.”
