He’s still breathing all right now, so I’ll try to get some rest. I’m by his side and I’ll stay until he wakes up or until the end. Mom, why do good people always suffer the most? I mean, he defends Scoots, then he saves some kid, and he’s a nice guy. He’s one of the few genuinely nice people I’ve meet. Mom, you know I don’t pray. I never pray. I never prayed when Nana was in the hospital. I didn’t pray when we faced that dragon. I didn’t even pray when I was up against Discord. But last night, I prayed for him. I’ll have you know Alex Roberts means Bright Defender in his language. I can also tell you he’s not some low life clover dealer, mom. I didn't know Happy Daze was into that. Anyway, I dumped her as soon as I found out. Mom, I don’t know what kind of news you get in Cloudsdale, but Alex is the leader of the Paladins of Redemption. He's the personal champion of Princess Luna, in the same way the Elements of Harmony are the personal champions of Princess Celestia. He’s a good guy. Really good. You know how dad jokes about all my special friends being too good for me? Well, this time, he’s right. And I’m always afraid of losing him. Really, really bad. You see, before Alex came here, he spent the last sixty years “jumping” from one world to the next. He has a magic scroll that lets him talk back to where he started. Anyway, when he first jumped he was still married, and I kind of told him his wife thought we should get together. That was a lie. What really happened was I asked her permission, and she flat out said no. It’s been so long for Alex, but only about 8 months for Ann (that’s his wife). She still loves him and has a hard time letting him go. She knows it’s been a long time for him, and that I love him with all my heart, but she loves him too. Last night, before we left Canterlot, I let it slip. He say’s he forgives me, but what if he doesn’t? What if he’s just being nice about it. Mom, what can I do? I don’t want to lose him.
