May Vengeance Be With You
Twilight sat on the deck of her private cruise ship drinking her soda, actually, that's a lie. She would tell you it was soda, but that is lying. That sucker was a good ninety percent alcohol, rum specifically. Twilight had enjoyed the vacation with her friends.
What did they do? Did they solve friendship problems? Did they go on adventures? Did they defeat villains? No, they did absolutely nothing and it was great. Most of their days consisted of eating, drinking, lying about, and sometimes swimming. It was fantastic to do nothing, it was the best activity she had done in years. Though it was coming to an end, this was her second to last day and that made her extremely sad. She did not want to stop doing absolutely nothing, but she had to go back at some point.
Celestia, Luna, and Discord, sat in front of Sombra in Rarity's shop. They were all drenched in sweat, bags under their eyes. It was one week and six days after twilight had left and they were drained. Who knew the elements and Twilight had so much to do. Twilight had a schedule packed tighter than Celestia did, which was surprising. It made Celestia think she should talk with twilight, she would run herself into the grave if she kept this up. In fact, every element would, day in and day out was non stop work.
“Well this week has been hell, remind me to never become a hero. If this is what the days of heroes look like, I think I'm ok with being an ex-villain.” Sombra said
“Ditto.” Discord added
“Our days never looked like this!” Celestia said with concern “maybe we should offer to help more often.” They all nodded in agreement. “But after our revenge of course,” she added, still a little miffed they were slammed with this much work for two weeks.
Sombra smiled, “about that.” He said as he teleported very familiar armor to his side. “I have to say I planned this quite well and I know you are all good actors.” He could see the confused looks across Luna, Discord, and Celestia's faces “don’t worry it's deactivated, it doesn’t work anymore. I think.” Sombra watched them shift uncomfortably “and we’ll ask all the ponies to play along. I won’t force it onto anypony. I thought you guys wanted revenge.”
“We do, this just feels. A little too familiar.” Celestia said.
"Well, I assure you it’ll be fine I scheduled a town meeting in two minutes. Come with me. I’m sure I can get every pony to agree to this. I promise it’s a great idea.” Sombra said, levitating two bags off the ground one containing armor from an empire that used to be enslaved and the other fake rubber chains.
Celestia, Luna, and Discord, followed behind Sombra with some apprehension. They were surprised to see a small stand and a microphone already set up for his speech. He had obviously been planning this for quite some time, “Good afternoon Ponyville. You know me, Sombra. I know you! I know that all of you are pretty angry that Celestia, Luna, and Discord, did not rule for twenty-four hours like they normally do. Do you know why they didn’t?” Loud muttering came over the crowd.
Sombra held up his hoof and they quieted down. “It’s because they lost, Twilight pulled some nasty tricks to win. So we are plotting revenge. I spoke to her once since she had left. When I did I told her I was afraid of revenge would be thrust upon the both of us.
See if the revenge was successful she let the winners ask for whatever they want. I will ask her to let Celestia, Luna, and Discord do trade meetings for two weeks instead of just twenty-four hours, I will expand Nightmare Night into three days instead of just one and I am aiming for a Discord Day where there is chaos all day. It would rain chocolate milk, the streets would be ice cream, the sky's the limit.” The crowd roared in agreement to Sombras plan so far so good, “so take a helmet and chain yourself up to one another. Don’t worry the chains are just rubber.”
Celestia, Luna, and Discord watched in surprise as the ponies gathered around the chains and masks, taking one each. Sombra had been doing some excellent intel gathering of the town creatures so he knew what they wanted and how to get them to play along. “In addition,” Sombra said, “Celestia, Luna, Discord, and I will be playing our old parts as villains. I need you to remember we are just faking it. We are not taking over Equestria, we are not evil. Ok?” The crowd yelled yes all at once. “Good.” He turned to his companions “I'll need Celestia and Luna to become Nightmare Moon and Day Breaker. Lucky discord and I don't need to change much.” The four of them smiled, “let's redecorate the town.”
Discord snapped his fingers and everything went gray, “that convincing enough?”
Sombra looked out onto the town and it’s folks, “plenty.” Sombra turned around to the mike “Twilight comes back tomorrow! So we have to be ready. Remember you are brainwashed, so please play the part. If this goes south at any moment Discord will snap everything back to normal.” The crowd roared with excitement and a mischievous smile dawned on Sombras face.
Twilight felt a shiver go up her spine and she smiled as she turned to Fluttershy who was currently drunker than she was. “Fluttershy, let's go shopping. There is something I want to pick up. Twilight smiled at her friend, “it is very important.”
Fluttershy just nodded, she lost all speech five drinks ago. “Let's get Rarity, we will need her input too,” Twilight said as she lifted the very drunk pegasus up and onto her back. “To rarity!” She said trotting off to rarity’s cabin. She knocked on it before entering.
“Come in!” She heard a chipper voice say.
She came in to see rarity preparing to go swimming, “Rarity I need your help, we're picking up a dress.”
“Now?”
“It is very important.” Said the alicorn with a grin. “Very, very, important.”
The next day
Twilight got off the boat with her friends and they all gasped at the sight, but she didn’t. “Play it helpless ladies, trust me. Ham it up good.” They all looked at her oddly but decided to play it along. They walked through a dark and gray town that looked like all the color had been zapped out of it, about halfway through is when they started seeing ponies in armor. The armor they recognized from a very long time ago, it was Sombras. They noticed all of their friends chained to one another “don’t worry girls stick with me, remember it isn't real.” Twilight whispered. Eventually, they reached Twilight's castle and entered the throne room. There on four thrones sat Celestia, Luna, Discord and Sombra, evil editions.
“HAHAHA “ Sombra laughed “you fool, you thought we were good. I turned Celestia and Luna against you. Discord willingly sided with me. All hope is lost!”
Twilight put her hooves over her face and smirked as she pretended to sob “why.” She said trying to sound as heartbroken as she possibly could. Fluttershy saw her smirk and joined her saying, “Discord, how could you? I thought we were friends, I thought you cared for me.” She put her hooves and joined Twilight in a fake sob.
“WHYYY??” Rarity wailed as she attempted to add some more drama to the scene before her. She put her hooves up her face followed shortly by Pinkie Pie who added, “I thought we were making a difference.” Rainbow dash covered her face and sniffled but said nothing which was almost more heartbreaking than saying something. But no mare was actually broken-hearted, smirks dawned on their faces.
Celestia, Luna, Discord, and Sombra were floored. Had they taken it too far this time, maybe they had. They did bring up some unsavory past. “We were just kidding. Discord snap it all back.” Sombra said. Discord did, he snapped it all back to what it was. Sombra closed his eyes that were pouring purple, they transformed back to green. “See I'm good, I swear. Twilight I am so sorry. I took this too far. It was my fault, It was all my fault, I'll take whatever punishment I have to.” He said as Twilight stopped crying and started laughing, she looked up at him and there was not a single tear in her eye.
“Gotcha.” She said with a smile “remember when we first met and you told me that I wasn’t mischievous or devious enough. Well, I sure hope I am now because I planned this,” she said levitating over a suitcase. “I plan for you to serve my every whim for the next two weeks like every other bet, but I learned a lot about myself on that boat trip. Do you know what drag is? I had never even heard of it before. On the boat trip, I had met a darling performer, RuPoney.
RuPoney was fantastic, very kind, then you came to me in a dream, I guess you used some of your power and you mentioned revenge. My gears got turning Sombra. Were you planning something? So I seized the opportunity, made it turn to my favor. I might have used a couple of spells to see the future in order to make that happen.” The suitcase clicked open, “I got Fluttershy, Rarity, and my new friend RuPony and I picked this out just for you Sombra.” She said as she levitated out the skimpiest, most revealing maids outfit to have ever existed and shoved it straight onto Sombra.
The mares gathered around them and the ones who had wings went pomf. “Oh my..” Fluttershy said as blushes dawned on the mare's faces. Soon Celestia, Luna, and Discord join them. Discord snapped up popcorn for them all as they sat down to enjoy the sight that was Sombra.
“Discord, it is my whim for you to take a picture. Three copies” twilight said with a smile.
Discord didn’t argue, he could, he wasn’t sure he was a part of the current bet. But he was more interested in seeing what Twilight did with the photos. So he did just as he was told, he snapped up a camera, took Sombras photo and handed her three copies. "Here."
“Thank you discord.” She said as she looked over the pictures.
“Are they for yo-” Sombra asked as he was concerned she would be keeping mementos but Twilight interrupted him with an answer.
“Me? Oh no they aren't for me” she teleported them away and three alicorns immediately teleported into the room. Cadence, Amore, and Radiant Hope. Sombra blushed “you can’t do this Twilight!”
“Twilight can, and will, you said you take any punishment and you were a part of the losing side of the bet.” She smiled as she looked back at the three female alicorns who joined them, wings pomfed out. “Now Sombra, go clean the windowsill,” Twilight said as she tossed a feather duster to Sombra.
Sombra grumbled as he felt eyes burn on him, this was very uncomfortable but at least it couldn't get worse. He picked up the feather duster in his magic, he wasn't one to back out of a bet his pride was one the line here. He swept the feather duster it back and forth on the windowsill as one would normally do but was interrupted by an order from twilight
“Do it seductively.”
“OH COME ON!” He shouted as the feather duster left his magic. “How is that fair?”
The mares and Discord smiled at one another. “Seductively.” They said together, today would be a good day.
