Hello one and all
right guys here is my first attempt at a story this one is set 25 years after the end of season 7 and the characters will be quite ooc. The world lore is going to be pretty much completely different. Sorry if that upsets some people but this is why i have given this story the AU tag if anyone has any pros and cons can you please send them to me via PM and not post flames thanks. Well Enough of my rambling please enjoy the story

The Return

In a place filled with nebulas and stars coming in and out of existence four voices are heard echoing. In this place they seam to be coming from the only building within this magnificent landscape. The building seems to be a castle with an arch above a gate.This gate has six symbols, a book covered in strange writing,a forest surrounded by flowers, storm clouds in a vortex, a golden sun.The moon in the night sky, a crystal heart cradled by gold bars and a lavender star with 5 smaller white stars surrounding it. But the first three of these symbols seem to be without any colours at all.

Then one of the voices said “are we all most done with the repairs yet it’s been 2500 years. I know that we had to come here to repair the font of cosmic power but I for one would like to return home at some point soon “. This voice sounds young but not with out its own sense of power.

another voice rang out in response this one sounds much older and more regal with a hint of teasing in the tone. “Twilight when we first began the repairs you seemed so full of excitement as it was such a great learning opportunity. I have to ask what happened to all of that enthusiasm from before?”

The one known as twilight is a young alicorn whose coat is a light grayish mulberry colour with wings of the same colour. Wearing a long regal looking dress made from what seems to be fine silk in the colours of dark violet and deep cerulean. Her mane is Dark sapphire blue with moderate purple and brilliant raspberry streaks that flows down her back like a waterfall which held up by a crown of pure gold. In the centre of the crown is a Fluorite gem in the shape of a star Twilight is about 6 foot 6 in height from horn to feet and has an hour glass figure. she then turned pouting and looked away from the others in the room and then said in response “well Celestia do you know how much longer we have till the font is fixed by any chance how about you Luna or you Cadence”

At this point the other three mares in the room stood a bit taller and looked to each other silently debating who would attempt to deal with the flustered younger mare. Celestia who is a Light fuchsiaish grey alicorn wearing a beautiful long dress made again of silk. her dress is white with what looks like flames coming up from the sun that is situated at the bottom of the dress spreading upward.She has a necklace of pure gold with a amethyst embedded in the centre. Celestia has a mane of Light cerulean, Light turquoise, Very light cobalt blue with Pale heliotrope which looks like it flows in a ethereal wind.she has a golden crown with another amethyst in the centre, she is 7 foot 6 inches in Hight and also has an hour glass figure.

Also in the room is Luna a Dark blue alicorn with a mane of Moderate sapphire blue with grayish Persian blue outline that like Celestia moved on it own she is wearing a dress of midnight blue with what look like stars,constellations and nebula's swirling around each other Luna is also wearing a necklace and crown made from obsidian and a diamond in the shape of a crescent moon has a hour glass figure while standing at the height of 7 foot 3 inches. Celestia and Luna looked at each other with an amused expression to look at the last mare in the room expectantly.

This mare then shook her head and then spoke in the tone only a sister or mother could take” now Twilight I know this is taking a lot longer then you or any of us would of wanted. We hope its not going to take much longer and then we can all go home to our friends and family" now the mare in question is about 7 foot in height with like the others has an hour glass figure her coat is a light grayish cerise. While her mane is a moderate violet with mild rose and pale gold streaks in it. she is wearing a long skin tight dress of sapphire blue and white with a crystal heart centre peace together with a crown that has a lolite at the top. This alicorn is known as Mi Amore Cadenza but to her family and friends she go's by Cadance

At this time the four mares turned around and refocus on the object in the centre of the room lighting their horns with magic and letting forth four magnificent beams of light at the object. this is a massive chalice that is overflowing with water that seems to glow even to the untrained eye with pure untamed magical power. The glow changes into the full spectrum of colours from the lightest pink to the deepest purple but this chalice, when one looks closely has hundreds of tiny holes in it. These holes are leaking water onto floor of the great hall in which it stands and as the lights hit the holes they appear to start closing

As the beams hit the chalice that is known as the font of cosmic power most would wonder how these 4 seemly normal beings are repairing this artefact or how it got damaged in the first place? Well both are kind of related as the font is the source of all the worlds magic and every time some creature uses some sort of magic or gives birth it causes a tiny amount of damage to the font. This is especially true when a new alicorn is chosen for the alicorns are also know as the gods and goddesses of the cosmos, so as most can imagine this ascension causes more damage than normal. These beings are need for the balance of the worlds and they also help maintain the mortal world. Only they are capable of entering the cosmic realm to repair the damage to the font

After about half an hour the holes finally close completely and a collective sigh of relief can be heard from the group of immortals, again Celestia's refined voice can be heard as she says " finally it is done"

A chuckle is heard as Luna said"yes dearest sister now thou can return to stuffing thy face with as much cake as thou wants"

At this point Cadance also giving a small giggle said "now lets be fair to aunty Celestia its Twilie we should be worried about"

An Indignant "hey" is heard echoing throughout the castle halls

"OK ladies that's enough fun and games for now lets go back to our rooms and make sure we don't forget anything as it will be a very long time before we return here"Celestia said in a motherly tone

Another hour goes past before the group gathers again in front of the font. Celestia turns and addresses the group "now i'm only going to ask once more are we sure we have everything we need to bring with us. As we wont be returning here till the next time the font needs repairing"

three reply's ring out simultaneously in response "yes princess" "yes aunt Tia" "verily dear sister let us be on our way"

smiling softly Celestia then turns to face the font. Speaking in a loud and clear voice she chants out the words "redeamus ad montem Canterhorn!" and then a portal of shimmering gold appears in front of the group. As the Alicorns pass through the portal it feels like they are being pulled apart then put back together again.

After what feels like an eternity they finally reappear on the mountain that should host the wondrous city of Canterlot. All they find in its place is a ruin with only a few building left standing. Meanwhile all across Equestria things that have been a constant for the last 25 years have begun to change.
