Prologue/Damn that was a bad night
The streets of Canterlot are never empty. Never. During the day normal ponies go about their business, visiting, working, etc. At night these ponies lock themselves in their houses and out comes the night crowds. The drug dealers hawk their wares. The gangs fight their battles. The ravers travel from one underground party to the next. The homeless get together in packs to go through trash cans looking for scraps to eat. And through it all the Night Guard does it's best to keep everypony safe.
The streets of Canterlot are never empty, but in this district they seemed to be. As if some great predator had staked its claim nopony could be seen. Only shadows.
“Come out little filly, I know your there.” voiced one of the shadows. It was not a voice that one would expect to come from a shadow; it did not creak or titter, it was warm and strong, and filled with images of sunny days and other such non-sense.
“It doesn't matter how hard you try to hide. I will find you.” the voice said again. “Little Knight Sky.” It paused for a moment before laughing a friendly laugh. “Don't worry, I'll make sure it hurts.”
A smaller shadow couldn't help but whimper a little at the voice. In this shadow hide a little filly, no more than 10 years old.
A large stallion stepped out of the shadows and into the flickering light offered by one of the street lamps. At first glance he matched the voice perfectly. His large frame covered in blue fur and his mane a startling silver. His cutie mark lay hidden underneath the edges of a stylish cloak of a design suggesting that he may be a noble. It was his smile that gave him away to the filly. His teeth were a mass of needles, all perfectly white and slightly curved inwards, like some sort of fish from the deepest depths of the ocean.
“We can't have you telling anypony what you saw, now can we.” It wasn't a question. The filly bolted taking to the sky on dark wings far larger than they should be. The stallion's expression didn't change as a blue aura surrounded the filly and dragged her out of the air towards him.
“Well, what do we have here?” He said looking the little filly over. Her fur was the dark purple of the night sky on a clear night and her mane was black. On her flanks was a picture of two wings covered in small points of light folded over a stylized sword.
“So small, but look at these wings” he exclaimed with a friendly voice, spreading the wings out with his magic. “Why they're already larger than most adults. And you've already got your cutie mark. My daughter would be so jealous if she met you.”
The aura around the filly smashed her into the ground. The Stallion placed his forhooves in the middle of her back and released her from his magic. Knight Sky began to try and wiggle out from beneath him.
“Now, now. None of that. We're almost done here.” She felt her wings engulfed once again in the Unicorns magic. The Stallion braced himself, and with his magic, began to pull.
Knight woke with a scream.
Authors note: This is just a short... thing that I wrote at work. I haven't had time to edit it yet but it will be edited. If I do carry on with it, and I probubly will, each chapter will be quite a bit longer than this.
