Spartan 001, code named Holy Crusade, was the first Spartan developed by the efforts of the Shadowborne Initiative. His last brother, Spartan 002 Hammer Forged, had been slain by Nightmare Moon. Following his rage, he ends up slaying Nightmare Moon herself, avenging his brother, but perishing himself. Waking up to a mysterious voice, he eventually discovers he has reached a new world.
