She was going to her room to sleep. She was very tired, mainly because of the night she had. Many of the ponies had nightmares. It was a hard night for her. But now, she could finally rest after a night full of real duties in the Dream World. She opened the door to her room, and went inside. Upon entering, she closed the door without looking back, and threw herself on the bed, covered herself and slept. She was dreaming that she was with Twilight. They were in the Canterlot castle room, reading a book together. They were both smiling. But their joy ended when they saw a purple mist. Luna was worried and afraid. No. This thing couldn’t be what she was thinking it would be. The mist began to swirl, until nothing more than Nightmare Moon appeared. Nightmare Moon smiled when she saw Luna. “We meet again, Luna,” said the black alicorn. “How did you get back?” asked Luna in fear. “Twilight and her friends destroyed you!” Nightmare Moon laughed at the last sentence. “Did they destroy me? No, Luna. The Elements of Harmony didn’t destroy me, they just made me lose control of your body and stay in your mind.” “But why did you return?” asked Luna. “I returned because I intend to get revenge on Twilight,” replied Nightmare Moon. Luna got up from the bed. “You’re not going to hurt my only friend!” “Do you care for the same mare that prevented us from making our night appreciated forever? How cute,” said Nightmare Moon with a smile. Luna was annoyed. “Our night, no! My night!” “Luna, we are one and the same. I am you. You cannot escape me. I am part of you,” said Nightmare Moon. “I am not you!” Luna denied. “And there’s no use trying to convince me to lend my body, because I won’t do that!” “But why not?” asked Nightmare Moon. “Because you’re going to hurt my sister and my only friend,” replied Luna. Nightmare Moon looked sad about it. “It is a pity. I was trying to be kind ... ” but the sadness soon changed to crazy joy. “... But if I ask you won’t make it possible for me to use your body, then, I’ll take it!” Nightmare Moon became a purple mist and entered Luna’s breastplate. In the real world, Luna started to squirm a lot in bed. Luna’s coat changed to black, and the perk changed to light blue armor. She opened her eyes and the pupil changed to a dragon slit. Nightmare Moon got up from the bed while laughing. “Bwahahahahaha! Finally! Now that I’ve possessed Luna again, I will get revenge on Twilight for defeating me the first time, destroy Celestia, and cause eternal night!” Nightmare Moon laughed evilly. Twilight was at her castle in Ponyville, reading a book on the couch. The book she read spoke of dangerous Equestria artifacts. This subject of artifacts has fascinated her since she dueled Trixie. She never imagined that the Alicorn Amulet existed. Then, typical of her, she decided to do research on other artifacts that existed in Equestria. What Twilight didn’t realize was that the bedroom door opened, revealing itself to be Spike, who was approaching her. Spike was holding a rolled scroll. When he got very close to Twilight, he nudged her lightly with his paw. “Twilight.” Spike called for Twilight. Twilight stopped reading her book and looked at Spike. “Yes, Spike?” “Letter to you,” replied Spike as he handed the scroll to Twilight Sparkle. Twilight took the scroll with her magic. She was curious. Could it be a letter from Princess Celestia? She opened it and started to read it. To her surprise, it wasn’t a letter from Celestia. Hi, Twilight. Could you come to Canterlot Castle? I would love to see you and spend that day with you. I will be waiting for you in my room. Signed Luna. Twilight closed the parchment and showed an ink, feather and parchment. Spike was curious about something. “Twilight,” Twilight looked at Spike. “Whose was it? Was it Princess Celestia’s?” “No. It was Princess Luna’s,” replied Twilight Sparkle. “And what was written on the parchment?” asked Spike, still curious. “Luna is wanting to see me at the castle.” “But where is she waiting for you?” “In her room, Spike.” Spike put his paw on the mattress. “And are you going to Canterlot, at Princess Luna’s request?” “Of course I will, Spike. I can’t let her down, mainly because she’s a princess,” replied Twilight Sparkle. “But first, I will inform her that I will go.” She dipped the quill in the ink and started writing on the parchment. Spike just watched her. As she wrote, Spike thought about what he could do while Twilight was gone. Perhaps, he could visit Rarity, spend time with her, and even help her with a dress. When he looked at Twilight again, he realized that Twilight had already finished writing. “Have you finished writing the letter to Luna, Twilight?” asked Spike. Twilight looked at Spike, still with a smile. “Yes, Spike. Would you like me to read it to you?” “Of course!” replied Spike, now smiling. He wondered what Twilight wrote. “Hi, Luna. Of course I could go to Canterlot. I am now going to Canterlot by train. Signed Twilight Sparkle,” after she read it, she rolled up the scroll, looked at Spike and handed the scroll to Spike. “Spike, send this letter to Luna.” “Okay,” he went to a window, inhaled, and released a green fire on the parchment. The parchment turned to smoke and flew away. “Ready. Was sent.” Twilight Sparkle got up from the couch, teleported her backpack and put it on her back, took the book with her magic and kept it inside the backpack. She intended to take this book so that she could continue reading the book with Luna. Maybe, she could get three more books too. She started to walk, but it wasn’t towards the door. Spike followed, confused. “Twilight, where are you going?” asked the dragon. Twilight, still walking, looked at Spike and replied, “I’m going to the castle library to get more books for me to take.” Spike smiled. “That’s great! How many books do you plan to take?” “I’m taking three books,” replied Twilight Sparkle as she walked. Twilight looked ahead and opened a light blue door with her magic. Behind the door, there was a large bookcase. She went flying to it, picking up three books, opening her backpack and putting it inside. That done, she flew back to the ground. Twilight went to Spike and gave a farewell hug. “Bye, Spike. I hope you can be okay without me,” said Twilight Sparkle. Spike returned the hug with a smile. “Of course I will, Twilight. I will spend the day with Rarity.” Twilight and Spike came out of the embrace. Twilight turned and started walking towards the entrance door. She opened the door with her magic and left. While she did this, she closed the door without looking back. When Twilight arrived at the train station, she noticed that there were few ponies in the place. Some were with a stallion or mare, others with a foal and others were alone. While the train wasn’t arriving, Twilight decided to take a book out of her backpack to read the same book she had read before in the castle. After about five minutes, Twilight heard the sound of the train approaching. She stopped reading it and looked in the direction that sound came from, and saw the train approach. When the train stopped, Twilight and the others got on the train. Twilight saw that in the first The train seat had an empty seat, she sat down beside the window, opened the book again and read the book again. She managed to take control of Luna’s body once again, while Luna slept peacefully on the bed. And she intended to cause eternal night, and this time, she was sure that she wouldn’t fail. Before she went to finish off Celestia, she intended to get revenge on a certain pony that defeated her after her return so that her third attempt would not fail. That pony was none other than Twilight Sparkle. When she took complete control of Luna’s body, she started to come up with a plan. And this plan was as follows: She was going to write a letter to Twilight, pretending to be Luna so that Twilight would come to her room so she could take her revenge. Of course, she didn’t want Twilight to notice that she returned, so she already had in mind what she would do when she was informed of Twilight’s arrival. Please let me have control of my body again! I don’t want Twilight to see me like this! Luna pleaded in Nightmare Moon’s mind. Nightmare Moon looked to the side. No. I will not let you take control of your body again. Now, your body is mine. And this time, there will be no one, not even your sister and your friend who will prevent me from causing eternal night. Suddenly, the bedroom door opened, revealing a Lunar guard. “Princess, Twilight Sparkle is here.” “Thanks for letting me know. Take her to my bedroom door.” sent Nightmare Moon. The guard bowed before closing the door. Nightmare Moon took advantage that while Twilight didn’t open the door, she used a spell to make the room all dark, so Twilight wouldn’t find out about her return. She could already see the scene in her head: Twilight would come in, she would turn on the light, Twilight would be scared and she wouldn’t know what to do, and then, Nightmare Moon would brag that she returned, and then, she would ask Twilight if she would be loyal to her, and if she wasn’t, she would use her magic to trap her but in dungeons, and with or without Twilight on her side, the Elements of Harmony wouldn’t activate, then she would go to Celestia to destroy her for having trapped her on the moon for a thousand years, and then she would win. And since Nightmare Moon has been watching everything inside Luna’s mind, she knew that Twilight and Luna had become very close since the first Nightmare Night, she knew that Twilight wouldn’t have the courage to try to hurt anypony close to her, especially a princess. The bedroom door opened, revealing Twilight. Twilight was confused as she raised an eyebrow. Why was Luna’s room all dark? “Luna? Are you there?” she asked. “Yes, Twilight. I am here. You can come in.” Nightmare Moon imitated Luna’s voice. Twilight Sparkle looked uncertain. “But it’s dark.” “Don’t worry, Twilight. When you come in, I will turn on the lights.” Nightmare Moon promised, still in Luna’s voice. Luna, watching everything in her mind, was afraid. No, Twilight! Don’t enter! Run! Twilight, believing the words of ‘Luna’, entered the room. But upon entering, the bedroom door closed with the magic of Nightmare Moon. Twilight was startled by the sound of the door closing. She looked around Luna’s room, looking for her friend. “Luna, now that I’m in, could you please turn on the lights?” asked Twilight Sparkle, politely. As requested, the lights came on. Twilight smiled as she looked around. She turned to look at Luna. “Thank you, Lu ...” but she stopped smiling when she saw that in the place, there wasn’t Luna, but Nightmare Moon. She was speechless, her mouth was open and her ears were down. Nightmare Moon smirked when she saw Twilight’s shocked face. This was the reaction she wanted Twilight to have when she saw her. Now, it was time for the second part of her plan. “Did you happen to say Luna?” Nightmare Moon asked, her smirk still on her face. “Because you should know that is not my actual name.” Twilight was still shocked at what was in front of her. She couldn’t believe what she saw. Why did Luna become Nightmare Moon again? Didn’t the company she made Luna do for years make her feel better? “How did you return?” asked Twilight Sparkle. “Shouldn’t the Elements of Harmony have destroyed you?” “Actually, I lost control of her body and this made me retreat into her mind,” explained Nightmare Moon. “But, I managed to get her body again, while she was sleeping. I was the one who sent you the letter so you could come here so I could get revenge,” Twilight was amazed at this revelation. “And with you here, you will not be able to warn your princess of my return, nor to get those elements to defeat me, and then, I will be the new ruler of Equestria, and the night ... will last ... forever!” Nightmare Moon started laughing wildly as her mane formed swirls that released rays. Twilight, desperate and sweating nervously, started to think of a plan while lifting a hoof to her chin. She had to come up with a plan, she can’t let Nightmare Moon win! Especially with herself at Nightmare Moon’s mercy! But how will she defeat Nightmare Moon? She didn’t even bring the Elements of Harmony with her as they’re in the Tree of Harmony! She thought long and hard. Let me see. All Luna ever wanted was to be loved by the ponies ... Twilight touched on what she just thought. Would I be able to defeat Nightmare Moon without the elements? Could I defeat Nightmare Moon on the basis of the love I feel for Luna? She looked back at Nightmare Moon and noticed that Nightmare Moon has stopped laughing. Twilight put her backpack on the floor and approached Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon stopped laughing and smirked as Twilight Sparkle approached. “I see that you’re approaching me. Did you come to surrender to your princess?” When Twilight Sparkle came very close to Nightmare Moon, she replied, “no. But there is something I would like to demonstrate to you.” “Are you going to demonstrate your loyalty to me?” Nightmare Moon tried to guess. “No. I will demonstrate this here.” Twilight Sparkle hugged Nightmare Moon while smiling. Twilight hugged me? thought Luna, surprised. Nightmare Moon didn’t know why, but she blushed. “W-what are you doing?” “Hugging you,” replied Twilight Sparkle with a smile. Nightmare Moon didn’t understand why anyone would want to hug her. “But why are you hugging me?” Twilight stopped hugging and put a hoof on Nightmare Moon’s chest while smiling. “Because I know that deep down, you just want to feel loved by the ponies,” that said, she brought her snout closer to Nightmare Moon’s. Nightmare Moon was nothing more than confused. Why was Twilight doing this? “And besides, I like you and your night.” confessed Twilight Sparkle. Nightmare Moon was surprised by this revelation. “Do you like me and my night?” “Of course.” Twilight Sparkle pecked Nightmare Moon. Nightmare Moon blushed with a peck she received. After Twilight did that, she again embraced Nightmare Moon with her hooves. Nightmare Moon didn’t know how to feel about this hug she received. She didn’t know if she should be happy that Twilight liked her and the night, since her original plan was to get revenge on Twilight, and then destroy Celestia and the elements, and cause eternal night. Nightmare Moon, then, felt something she hadn’t noticed before. Twilight’s fur was very soft, it was like a fur coat, practically. And the hug Twilight was giving, it was kind of nice, warm and comforting, it was like hugging a teddy bear. To tell the truth, she was actually enjoying the hug, and she wanted Twilight to feel like being hugged, too. With a smile now on her face, she returned the hug with a hoof. Twilight felt Nightmare Moon’s hoof envelop her. She was a little surprised at first. She didn’t imagine that Nightmare Moon would return the hug. But soon she smiled, that could perhaps mean that Nightmare Moon was going to be Luna again. Suddenly, the darkness came out and Luna was back in control of the body, she looked at Twilight. Luna realized that Twilight was beside her. She was worried. “Twilight? Are you alright? Did I hurt you?” asked Luna, concerned. “Yes, Luna. I’m fine,” replied Twilight Sparkle with a smile. “And no. You didn’t hurt me.” Luna was relieved, but there was something that left her in doubt and she wanted to be sure. “Twilight, is it true that you like me and my night?” Twilight Sparkle blushed while smiling. “Yes. Since my first Nightmare Night.” Luna smiled. She didn’t think Twilight had felt that way about her since that night. But she couldn’t deny that she felt the same way too, since Twilight was helping her when no one wanted to during Nightmare Night. “I feel the same way as you do, Twilight,” said Luna. Twilight Sparkle looked at Luna, now a little surprised and happy with this revelation. “Really? Do you feel the same as I do?” “Yes, Twilight,” replied Luna. Twilight was happy that Luna felt the same way she did. She was also happy that she managed to defeat Nightmare Moon, being for the love she feels for Luna. Now when Nightmare Moon returned one day, she knew what she was going to do. She was going to hug her.
