Prologue part I: The King and The Mare
Twilight Sparkle was in the throne room trying find where King Sombra would hide the heart. Twilight looked at the throne and looked at the gem that was on top of the throne. It reminded her of that crystal that Princess Celestia showed her, she can remember what she said. 'If the empire is fill with hope and love. Those things are reflected all across Equestria. But if hatred and fear take hold.' That moment when she saw Princess Celestia used that spell.
"Of course" She said.
"Ow." Spike hit his head on Twilight purple short shirt and he fell on the ground. He got back up. "What. Did you find it?"
"No. Becaues this isn't King Sombra's castle" She said walking close the the throne.
"Well is it there he lived when he was in power." Spike said.
"It is. But it didn't look like this." Twilight then change her horn and use her anger. Her hand and horn became charge with dark magic. And then her eye had dark purple smoke coming out on the end. Final her horn and hand became fully charged with dark magic, she then shot a bolt of magic out of her hand sending it to the crystal on top of the throne. The crystal turn back it cast a shadow on the floor opening a dark hole with stairs going down.
"YES!" As she clapped her hand. "This must be King Sombra's treasure hold."
"Congratulation! How very clever..." A dark voice said behind her.
She gasp and looked as the throne. She felt fear. "Did you hear that, too."
"I wish I didn't !" Spike said.
Suddenly the crystal was sparking red lightning and made a loud nose. "TWILIGHT" Spike said to tell her to back a way from it. Twilight backed way and was standing next spike. In front of the throne was some smokey shadow forming on the ground. The smoke raised and was like it was forming a pony. Suddenly they saw him, he looked whole again with all of his armor and red royal cape. His red horn and his eyes red surrounded by green, and having purple smoke coming out of it but with no end to it.
Sombra smiled. "It's so good to be Home!"
"SOMEPONY HELP KING SOMBRA INVADED THE CASTLE!" Spike screamed out.
Twilight looked at spike. "Shut up spike thats not Sombra."
Spike look at her " Then… What?"
"I don't feel his real presence. I think it's a mirror image. Sombra is talking from a distance"
The King looked around the throne room and mumbled to him self. "So Girly, Ugh… No matter this castle will be gone when get to my study room and open the door to the shadow prison."
Twilight look at the king will a brave face. "You must be desperate Sombra, If you think, a mirror image will hold me back for finding the Crystal heart!"
Sombra looked at the the mare who was in a blue butter up shirt with small pink stripes with a purple short shirt. He just smiled to see that she was the one who found the vault. "Oh… you know that! Those 'crystal ponies'… I need to show the other 'crystal ponies' an 'example' for this when I get back in this city!"
He then walked towards to the mare. "But I'm not here to hold you back or hurt you, my dear. In fact, I'm came here to congratulate you! A unicorn with your intelligence is so rare to see… Yes… you reminded me when I lived in this city."
"W-what??" Twilight was shock to here him say that.
Sombra smiled and walk closer to her. "When I felt somepony found the vault, I was expecting Celestia 'the sun tyrant' or her 'Moon-Sick' sister; Luna. 'But I found you'. Such raw strength and power. Such fresh magic. No one can do that and understand dark magic like you. So eager to learn! An empty coup, that wishes to be filled with knowledge! Its like looking at a mirror of myself and my life."
"I was so young. So eager to learn everything about magic. I never knew who may father or mother was when I was young. The crystal guards found me in the north, and the only thing I said was 'Sombra'. And thats what they called me. Most of the time I lived in the city I spent my time in libraries, nopony was so eager to learn as I was. One time my 'friend' and I when to the heart. It is said that looking at the heart can tell you whats in yours. But the heart should me that I was its enemy. Many years later my 'friend' got her mark in powerful magic becaues of the crystal fair was doing something to me, and she healed me. Then a few days later she had a letter form the royal sisters. So I knew if she was not going to stay and I may die. So if she found her's then my destiny will find me. So I went back where I came from, the cold north. Then I found it more importantly I found out what I was. There was a crystal and it call out my name. The voice was a mare and she was my mother. She said I was nothing like thoes and she told me why the heart's magic was killing me. I am no pony like you or the crystal ponies but a pony of shadows, a unicorn of pure magic, an Umbrum. And there where more than just me and my mother. Under this city is an army of Umbrum, and I am their King!! She gave me my magic back and I was ready to clam my birthright!!"
Twilight was in utter shock of Sombra's story. Celestia said he was an evil corrupt unicorn but the tyrant told her that he was not. Sombra looked at the mare "What is your name dear mare."
"T-Twilight Sparkle." She said.
"You know Twilight, I have never see a pony with power like mine. I'm not kidding when I say that. I can see you have potential to be great, but not under Celestia. You can be anything, you want with the incredible power." Sombra walked around Twilight "So what are you now? The another underling student of Celestia, who sent you to the of the world. While she sits in her warm palace and playing her 'influence game'. Your just a pawn in her game. She sent you here to do her dirty work. She is just lazy and weak. And does not carry of you. While we speak, that sweet princess up there is loosing more of her power! It's only a matter of time for me to reclaim what is rightfully mine. O I am patient. Believe me! I waited a thousand damn years for this!!!!!!! "
Twilight looked at Sombra with a determine look "Cadance is strong! She is my friend and sister-in law. And I will not let you do any harm to her!"
King Sombra looked at Twilight. Twilight could not believe that he was equal like in hight as her. She thought he was the same age as her before he was banished. "Friends... They shall be all my slave, or 'examples' in the end when I break this pathetic shield! Be realistic Twilight!!!"
King Sombra place his hand on Twilight shoulder and his horn glow black and purple. Twilight felt magic like she never fell. "If you side with me and be my apprentice I will teach you magic like you never before. You've already taste it." Twilight gasp as the magic flow. It felt like he was not a image. But he was, and that spell was not a mind control spell. It was to show her power like never before in her life. She need to resist the temptation that was in her mind and soul. The power that she taste was like it was speaking her, if felt like it was her destiny. But she knew that power corrupts thoes who are weak mind, and she was not.
Sombra smiled. "Let me show you the true natural of magic. Give in to UMBRA!"
Suddenly Twilight uesd her magic "GET AWAY FROM ME!!!!"
The King was pushed away from her. "UGH!!!" He never felt that type of power before.
"You know Sombra, I feel bad for you." She said with determination. "You accepted the worng destiny, the wrong purpose in life. Look at what you have become! Enslaver of your own people."
Sombra sighed in defeat. "I see... I see that abashed princess has shown you lies. Oh such a shame, but l shall accept the defeat. I am a generous king."
But then King Sombra came close to Twilight with a evil, sadistic, grin. "But you know... Defeat is not permanent! Once I break this damn sheild. I shall break your beloved 'princess' with it. Thoes pathetic 'crystal ponies' will succumb to their fate and beg for my forgiveness! I shall forgive them, after years of hard back-breaking labor! Then we shall see how loyal you are to Celestia after a long stretch in prison as well as new teachings that I can't wait to show you. You will be serve me eventually Miss Sparkle, whether you like it or not!"
Twilight walked way from the dark king and head down the stairs. "I don't have time for this."
Sombra body was turn in shadow as he was ready to disapper, he did not have time to talk. He felt the sheild was weak and she had to find the heart. "Oh, yes there isn't much time left. I have a toublesome shield to break, and irresolute princess to show her fate like the one I kill long ago. Oh so much to do. Also feel it's fair to warn you for you sharing your time with me. I've set some minor traps down there."
Sombra's horn lit red like blood. "Before I go let be give you a little hint, 'prepare to face your fears', ALL OF THEM."
As Sombra left she can still here his evil laugh, is was dark and evil. it ran a shiver down her spine.

Prologue part II: Siege of the 'Crystal Empire'

Why I created 2 parts for the prologue, is that everything plays normal untill Twilight gets to the heart, everything changes.

Prologue part II: Siege of the 'Crystal Empire'
Twilight was at the highest point at the Crystal Palace. Their she saw the heart it was flouting this should be easy she thought to herself. She step towards the heart, without warning an alarm and the floor glowed black. In the distances King Sombra felt that Twilight found the heart, he use his magic to trap Twilight in a crystal cage. Twilight look around and shout her magic at the crystal cage she was in, nothing happen. She used her teleportation magic, but she was foolish. Sombra made sure she was will be teleported back in the cage.
She looked in the cage for the heart. "Where is the heart?!"
"Right here! It rolled over here when you dropped it." Spike said.
Suddenly black crystals grabbed the heart and locked it to the floor. Twilight looked at it "Spike can you get it unstuck!"
Spike grabbed the heart but a burst of dark magic push him away, he look at Twilight. "Can't."
"Can you try to free me, Spike."
Spike walked towards Twilight's cage but a burst of dark magic push him away. "I can't do anything."
Twilight looked outside and saw Sombra's magic taking over the city and the shield weaken. "If I can't git the heart to Cadance, then the empire will be lost to Sombra." She felt hopeless, but then Twilight looked at Spike. She tried everything that will work but there was one thing left. It broken her heart to say it. "Spike…" She said as a tear came from her eye. "Tell Cadance, Shining Armor , and our friends to get out of her and go to Canterlot and get the Princess Celestia to stop Sombra."
Spike looked at Twilight. The mare he call a sister, and mother. "I'm not leave you..." he said as tears flow from his eyes "Not like this."
"King Sombra is going to take this city and I know my fate. I just want you and all I love to be safe." Twilight started to cry "Now… go…"
"But??" he said.
"GO!!!!"
Spike ran downed the stairs as he cried. Twilight then sat down and cried on the floor of her new prison. She remember what Sombra said his voice echoed in her mind. "Then we shall see how loyal you are to Celestia after a long stretch in prison as well as new teachings that I can't wait to show you. You will be serve me eventually Miss Sparkle, whether you like it or not!"

The Crystal City was in fear, as they saw the shield weaken. The crystal ponies ran to the center of the city. The Crystal Palace had some black crystal on it.
"Now don't you worry about your pretty crystal pony heads." Applejack said on the balcony. "The real crystal heart will be here any second."
Rarity look at her friend with a whispered. "I don't think they believe you."
Applejack whispered to Rarity. "Don't think I believe in me."
Suddenly Spike ran in, Shining Armor looked at him. "Where is Twily?"
Spike panted "Trapped… by… Sombra's magic… in a cage." Spike then looked at Shining. "We have to get out of here. He has made it where the heart is protected by his magic."
Without no warning Cadance's magic faded and the shield dissipated, only replaced with the dark north sky. The local citizens of the Crystal Empire where in a state of panic. Everypony of the empire ran to the center where the Crystal Heart usually stood.
By the time all of them made it to the location where the heart would be, King Sombra had entered the kingdom. A giant platform made of dark crystals rose up from the ground. His body returned to its former glory. No longer a shadow, but a full-fledged 'unicorn'. A 'unicorn' wearing his crown, armor and his glorious red cape once more he returned after a thousand years.
The main five, Spike, Shining Armor, and his wife watched in fear as King Sombra returned to the empire. The King only just smiled? "Hello my crystal slaves, I'm back!" He looked at the balcony and saw the ponies and dragon there, then the crystal ponies. "As the rightful King of the North and King of the Umbra Empire! I will make sure that this will never happen again! "
Sombra moved his hand and point it to the tower. His horn and hand glowed with his purple and black magic. At the tower the Crystal heart flew to the king's hand. Every pony was in fear on what he was going to do. He smiled. "It ends here! " The heart started to glow green and purple magic. Black sparks of lighting admitted from it and black cracks formed on it. And then the heart exploded in millions of pieces.
Sombra looked at the balcony with an evil, sadistic, grin. "Now I will show you my crystal slaves what happens when you disobey me! Let me show you an example."
His magic glowed once more. Shining Armor knew what was going to happen. He shout to the others "RUN!!!"
They ran back in to the Crystal Palace heading down to the and finding a way out of the empire. Sombra destroyed the balcony with his magic, he looked at the main five, Spike, Shining Armor, and Cadance an smiled. He can taste there fears. He looked at the crystal tower, with his magic he gripped it. The main five, Spike, Shining Armor, and Cadance watched as the tower cracked and slowly fall down.
Shining Armor screamed out in. "NOOOO!!!!"
The others cried out. "TWILIGHT, NO!!"
They had felt lose as they saw where Twilight was. As they saw the tower fall, there hearts broke. The main five watched as in front of there eyes, they lost a friend. "We have to get to Celestia now!" Shining said as he knew that the princess will save them.
They ran as fast as they can, Cadance was getting weak my the minute. "I.. can't... go... I need to rest." Cadance's legs finally gave out, making her collapse to the ground. Shining Armor went to his beloved wife grabbed her hand "Cady we have to go we have to get your aunt."
"Shining." Cadance said with tears flowing. "I'm afraid. Afraid of losing everything."
Sombra looked at the Cadance "Where are you going, descendent of Amore."
His horn glowed bright white. In a flash Shining Armor was blinded. He rubbed his hands on his eyes and was shocked what happen to his wife. She was turn in to crystals. Shining was in shocked to see that. He looked at the others. "Go get Celestia." he looked at King Sombra and pull his sword an shield. "I will deal with the Tyrant."
The main five and Spike ran off, going to the direction of Canterlot. Shining walked towards King Sombra, Shining was mad at him for taking everything he loved. Sombra looked at the Shining, he can sense his rage and anger. "You are a brave one Shining Armor." Sombra said as he was conjuring something in his hand. I was a Great Scythe made out of the crystals he can create. "I will give you a warriors death."
Shining charged at Sombra, then Sombra changed to his shadow form and charged at Shining. As the to clashed and Sombra past Shining. The white unicorn stopped. Sombra rematerializes and looks at Shining and smiles. His Scythe has a stain with blood. Shining felt his life flashing before him, and his head sliding clean off his neck.
Sombra walked to Cadance, still incased in crystals. "I'm going to enjoy tormenting you, and when the time comes I will enjoy watching you die."
He looked at the remands of the Crystal Palace and looked pact it. "A king dose not need a Palace. No, he needs a castle. My ancestors castle, Umbra Castle." King Sombra used his magic to shot a green and purple beam of magic. The beam of magic kept going, and going. It was past the original hight of the Crystal Palace and now double the hight.
Until it the beam hit something. An invisible ripple like you throw a stone in water. Sombra smiled. "After two thousand year, the Imperium City, the real Crystal City. It still here, the Crystal Empire took the place of the crystal park. Now I will make you come back."
With in a flash a City surrounded The Crystal Empire, The Crystal Imperium City was four times larger than the Crystal Empire. The building where taller than the tallest building in Manehattan. Black and red and gray where the colors of the buildings. In the center where Sombra used his beam of dark magic was a Castle fit for a king. It was four times as bigger than the Crystal Palace. The Black Castle, the Umbra Castle was the biggest building in the empire. The City still had it's old banners of the old empire, A red flag with the black six pointed star; the symbol of magic. Sombra smiled seeing his families empire return. The North storm did not invade the city, without the heart the North was uncountable but, as if it obeyed Sombra like it was waiting for this.
Sombra uesd his magic to go to the remains of the tower of the crystal palace. He entered the peak of it and found her. The mare that had power like none other, Twilight Sparkle.
He picked her up with is arms and placing his hand on her neck. An smiled.

It has been one week since King Sombra has taken the Crystal empire. Not only he has taken the Crystal empire but Rainbow Rainfalls will it as well as the rail connection was cut off by the unnatural weather of the North. When Princess Celestia found out the main five and spike came back they told her everything that happen. She heard that cadence was turn it to crystals and Celestia knew that that she shared a similar fate to the former Princess of the Crystal Empire. It was a shock and great sorrow that Princess Cadence, Shining Armor, and Twilight Sparkle where dead. The deaths of all three were a shock to the nation, but Twilight's death, in particular, has left many ponies grieving her loss. From Ponyville to Cloudsdale an Canterlot, one would be hard press to find a pony who hasn't been affected by the news of her death.
The castle of Canterlot was echo of silence. As Princess Luna walks through the halls of Canterlot Castle. Silence fills the airwaves, more so than it has before. Celestia has been locked up in her chamber ever since she got the package. The loss of Twilight, her faithful student, shook Celestia in a way that Luna has never seen before. She hasn't seen her sister all day and it has her greatly concerned. From what the castle servants told her, Celestia refuses to leave her chamber, refuses to even eat. Luna is headed up to Celestia's chamber now to see her sister. Luna then open the door slowly and peeking her head in. She was scanning the room for her sister and seeing her at her writing area where she mostly sat in her room near the fireplace. The area where she read the letters from Twilight and her friends on their friendship. Luna opens the door the rest of the way and slowly walks in, moving closer to Celestia. The Sun Princess sat next to the trunk box that held the letters from Twilight and her friends.
Luna walked to her sister and sitting at her level, "Tia, are you alright?" Her sister said nothing in response. "It's been days since you've left your room or eaten something." Luna place her hand on her sister's shoulder and spoke with a soft voice. "Are you okay."
Celestia closes her eyes and tears flow from them. "I should have listen to you." She said with a soft tone.
"What do you mean, sister?" Luna got closer to her older sister.
"You were right," Celestia said. "I shouldn't have sent you to face him, not Twilight."
Luna comfort her grieving sister "We both knew Sombra was not going to be easy for Twilight, but we thought wrong that he was weak."
"She was not ready for this," said Celestia with a tear coming from her eyes. "I should've just sent you." Celestia face change from sad to anger. "But now she is fucking dead become of me!" She punched the trunk box, causing a dent on it.
Luna grabbed her sister's chin making her look at her in the eyes. "Sister, don't say that about your self. You had every reason to believe that Twilight would defeat Sombra. Chrysalis, Discord, and me; Twilight was anything but not ready for this test. We underestimated Sombra and paid for it, but Twilight's death is not you fault, It is Sombra's."
Celestia got up on her hooves and walked to the fireplace. Her eyes gaze into the flames."If we had just dealt with King Sombra ourselves, Twilight will be alive. I am just as responsible for letting her death as Sombra killed her. I gave Twilight an order, and it ended to be her death. I ordered Cadence and Shining Armor to protect the Empire, and it ended in their demise. I hold a burden on this crown that has got heavier by the time I ruled."
Luna got up and walked to her sister's sided. She places her hand on her shoulder and looked at her with a soft expression. Celestia looked at her sister and sees her kind gaze. Luna turns and huge her sister, tears began to stream down from her eyes. Luna hold her sister tight, giving her a comfort that she needed now. "You don't have to bear this burden by yourself, Celestia." Luna said softly. "I am here for you." Luna's eyes begin to sparkle because she was about to crying with her sister.
Celestia pulled away from her sister and gave a small, tearful smile. Luna's heart leaps, it's the first since she was free form nightmare moon. "Thank you, Luna." Celestia tearfully said. "I am grateful to have you as a sister."
"You're welcome, Tia." Luna said trying to clear her tearful voice.
Celestia stood up and brush her white and gold dress that she always had on. She then sigh looking at her sister "We better start making preparations for their memorial."
"Of course sister, but are you feeling up for the task?" Luna ask, knowing this will not be easy for her sister to feel so much grief.
"No, but I know this must be done." Celestia said. "There are many ponies out there grieving as I am, including Twilight's friends and family. Once we have say our goodbyes, we can focus on Sombra."
"Yes, but I don't know what Spike means that Sombra is a 'umbrum'?" Luna said.
Celestia place a hand on her sisters should "I have no idea what that is or 'the umbra empire', but one thing is curtain we can't not be aggressors if we fight him. I thought my that Sombra is a dark evil unicorn but now we know that is not true. Plus Sombra has the power to control minds and if he can do that image a race like him. We will have to find a something about the umbrum."
Luna nodded her head to agree. "But all of the knowledge has been lost for over two thousands years, the knowledge that had been in the past from four thousands and beyond."
"Yes" Celesita said. "We must learn of our new enemies or they are a old enemy. But we have to say our last goodbyes to Twilight Sparkle, Cadence and Shining Armor."
Author's Note
This Chapter is small, it is just to tell you what Celestia and Luna feel with the lost of the Crystal City and the ponies they lost from King Sombra. Plus I wanted Celestia and Luna to not know everything like in canon, so for them not knowing about the Umbra Empire is scary.
Umbraenstein: Umbra Castle
Twilight looking out at the window will metal bars, looking a the white of the North that was out side. The snow never touch the city, that made her question this city. She was chain to the center of the room, and was not long. Sombra made sure that she will be able to walk around the room but not to escape there was a magical barrier that kept her in. She yanked and pulled on the metal chain that was attached to the metal collar around her neck. She refused to be just a helpless mare in a 'cage'.
"My... my..." Sombra purred when he stepped in to her cell. Twilight jump in fear on hearing his voice she then looked at him. He had a deviant smile on his face. "You look lovely in chains."
Twilight grunted before glaring dangerously at the umbrum king. "As soon as I get outta here-!" Twilight yelped when she lost her balance and accidentally slipped onto the black crystal floor. Sombra chuckled softly in amusement.
She is a tough mare, and beautiful. he mused as he continued to watch her fight with the chain. I have tried every bit of my fear spell, but none of them are strong enough to break her. It's no wonder she was able to last this long. I must try harder.She need to see thing my may. If she is the one that my grandfather had told me about in his dreams of the future, the one that will control all magic. Then this is why she is so strong and powerful.
Twilight eventually gave up on the chain and fell on her but in exhaustion. Her tongue hanging out as she was panted for breath. Sombra felt something click in him when he saw the mare splayed out like that on the crystal floor. Fighting back the urges that were beginning to pop in his mind, he spoked. "Shall we begin today's 'lesson'."
Twilight rolled her violet eyes. "Oh joy ." She spat sarcastically.
"It doesn't have to be this way, Twilight. If you would just give up on Celestia and join me instead. She hasn't even set a her 'armies' at me."
"Y-You don't know that!" Twilight protested
"Oh, but I do know, Twilight Sparkle." The Umbrum King said. "My people live these land for over two thousand years without the protection of the heart from the cold weather. It will be suicide if she sent at army, and I will use the crystal ponies as my army. She know I will send those pathetic crystal ponies to there deaths so I can kill her and her sister."
"The Canterlot Royal Guard are some of the braves in all of Equestria." Twilight said firmly. "I'm sure they'll coming."
Sombra growled softly in frustration. Flashing his white fangs dangerously and causing Twilight to recoil back slightly. She now knew that umbrums are more that just ponies. Sombra was a master dark magic. The lord of nightmares. The King of shadows and the umbrum. She was a mare on thin ice right now and she was afraid of him.
"They will never come for you, my dear Twilight Sparkle. For they believe your gone." He snarled as he slowly approached the frightened mare. He placed his hand under her chin. "It is inevitable that you will see the errors of your way. You will join, Twilight by my side as both my apprentice and my queen . You're so called 'friends' care nothing for you. Not ever your beloved mentor, Celestia."
"Shut UP !!!" Twilight screamed as she quickly covered her ears with her hands. "Just shut the fuck up already!"
Suddenly Sombra snapped. "You will NEVER show disrespect towards ME !"
Twilight tried to put up a brave face like when she face nightmare moon, but found that she was too frightened to even move a single. Instead she let fear control her as she crawled away from the angry King of Fear until she curled herself up against the corner of her cell wall. Pressing against the cold walls and shielding her face with her hands.
"I will break you. " Sombra vowed. His eye inflame with green as light purple smoke fumed from the corner of his eyes. "And I will use any means necessary in doing so." His horn and hand glow with that nightmare spell. "And you will know that you are alone, dear Twilight!"
Twilight screamed from the agonizing pain that she was enduring thought her body. She was had endure the same nightmare she's been having since she was captured.
Princess Celestia's face looked grim. She shook her head and looked away from her. Clearly disappointed by her failure. Twilight collapsed onto the carpeted floor as she cried her heart out. "You call youself my student?" Celestia scoffed as her arms where cross and narrowed her eyes at Twilight. "Hmph. Some excuse for a student who can't even do one thing right."
"Princess Celestia. Please come back! I'm sorry! I'll try harder next time! I promise! Please don't leave"
Twilight wailed on the floor. Frantically crying out to someone who wasn't really there. Sombra grinned at his current results and forced more power into the spell. Hoping to make it more effected in the end. While Twilight continued to screamed in sheer horror.
"NO, Princess!! Please! Please don't kick me out! I'll try harder! Just give me another chance!"
Celestia narrowed her eyes angrily at Twilight, "No more second chances, Twilight Sparkle! You are hearby no longer my student! You are'nt ever close to being worthy enought! I made a mistake choosing you the first day I saw you. You are weak! Uesless! You're nothing but a hopless mare!"
"NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Twilight screamed in dispair as tears proceeded to flow from her closed eyes. She shot out her hands in a desperate attempt to reach for the alicorn that was just in her mind. Everything felt so real that she was trouble defining if this was just another one of Sombra's tricks, or if this is the real deal. It was messing with her head severely.
Sombra felt a sense of pride in him. He was getting close. He could just feel her nearing her breaking point. Soon he will have her on his side. Sombra admired her beautiful mare, her violent eyes where like crystals and her prefict body for a unicorn mare that is just a bookworm. The mere thought of just touching Twilight's lavender body sent a shiver down the umbrum stallion's spine. He could hardly wait to have her in bed. He just needed to break her; to show her that this is the only way...

It has been two months since King Sombra had taken his brith right. Twilight had never felt so alone before in her life. She had lost some weight during her capture. Refusing to eat any food offered to her. It was only until Sombra threatened to force feed her that she decided to at least eat a bit of food. Her eyes were red from the endless crying she has endured during her 'lessons' with Sombra. Dark rings formed undernearth her eyes from lack of sleep. It made her sick to think that Sombra had a nice mattress with a warm blanket and cosy pillows to sleep on whill she had nothing but the floor, her clothes, and her arms.
"You just don't want to accept your defeat? I abmire your will." Sombra sighed after a secession. Twilight sat on the floor. She looked up at the tyrant with wet, tearful eyes.
"Why?" She asked, her voice now hoarse from all the screaming she's done during each time Sombra used his nightmare spell. "Why me? Why do you do this to me? What did I do to deserve this pain?" More importantly, why hasn't Celestia came to save her?
Sombra approached the fallen mare and, to her surprise, gently brush his hand against her long unkept mane. "I do this for your own good. To 'open your eyes', Twilight." He said fondly as he continued to caress her. "You refuse to listen. You believe that Celestia and your 'friends' are coming to save you, but they have abandoned you for good."
Twilight narrow her eyes at the umbrum stallion and viciously ripped away from his gentle caresses and crawled back a few feet. Minding the chain that was still latched onto her. "No... You can torture me as you like... But I know that Celestia hasn't not given up on me. She'll never give up on me because she loves me. She and my friends."
Something suddenly clicked in Sombra's head and he smirked evilly to himself. "Hm. That's something a failure would say." he said casually. This caught Twilight's attention and immediately perked her ears up at this.
"W-what are you saying?" she asked weakly.
Sombra smiled innocently. His crimson eyes flickering. "Think about it a minute, sweet Twilight. Celestia sent you to the 'Crystal Empire' as a test, right?"
Twilight thought for a moment. It had only been two months. Yet every seem like a distant memory now. She nodded her head shakely. "Y-Yes, I-I think so."
"Well... Look what occurred. Not only you failed to stop me, but you failed to save everypony. You allowed your brother to get killed. I have in-prison Princess Cadance. You allowed the crystal ponies to be back in chains. You brought your friend into the most dangerous place in Equestria. Why would Celesita come her to save you? She had to start a war to do that and she wants no war for 'the little ponies will not like that' . Ha Ha ha pathetic and weak. And why would she want to save a pony that is a failure in her eyes like you, Twilight. Your friends have left you beacause you placed them in grave danger. What makes you think they'd still want you as a friend after what you put them throught. Why will they come to save you?"
"I-I..." Twilight stammered. She couldn't find the right words to counter Sombra's question. It was like he was holding all the cards, like he was telling the truth. Now that she thought about it, he has a good reason why. Twilight thought 'mabye he is right'. "I-I don't understand." She whimpered.
Sombra sighed deeply. He was close. So very close. He just needed to put her thought a secession one more time, he knew this will be the last one. This time make it as real as possible. Enough to make her believe it's real. He casted the spell and Twilight screamed. It wasn't long until she found herself in a familiar situation.
Twiligth found herself surrounded by ponies she knew. Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Princess Cadance, Her brother, her friends, and even Spike. They were all giving her hateful and disapointed looks.
"Why, Twily? Shining Armor asked coldly, "Why did let me die?"
"I-I didn't think..." Twilight struggled to speak.
"YOU LET MY HUSBAND DIE BY THE HANDS OF KING SOMBRA, Twilght Sparkle!!!" Cadance hissed in hatred, "And to think I actually agreed to be your foalsitter."
"Cadance, please!"
"It was a mistake ever meeting you, Twi!" Rainbow Dash snapped harshly. "All you've ever done was getting us into dangerous stuations that could kill us!
"Yeah!" The others agreed in unison.
"Dash... AJ... Rare... Fluttershy... Pinkie..."
"Hmph! You only see me as your slave! You just used me as an excuse to become Princess Celestia's student! Some big sister you are!" Spike snapped bitterly.
"That's not true, Spike!" Twiligth cried. Not Spike, anyponu but Spike...
"You're a terrible excuse for a student!" Celestia said cruelly. Glaring hatefully at the frightened unicorn. "I am better off with somepony who actually know how to do thing right! All of Equestria is better off with you!"
Twilight gasped puting her hand on her lips in sheer horror. Did she really just say that? Celestia of all ponies!?
"I wouldn't be dead if you hadn't fucked everything up at the Crystal Empire!" Shining Armor yelled Causing Twilight to recoil back in fear.
"IT'S all your fault!! My husband would still be alive and I will not be inprison by Sombra because of you!" Candace screeched.
Twilight suddenly felt something hit her. She fell to the ground. She felt like somepony punch her. She gasped when she saw Rainbow Dash standing like she was going to punch again. "That's for almost getting us fucking killed all the time!" The blue pegasus hissed.
"D-Dashie..." Twilight felt the tears finally fall. "I-I thought we were best friends..."
"You HAVE no FRIENDS!!"
"No... NO!!!" Twilight screamed in sheer denial. "This can't be happening!"
"You see what I mean? I can't have a friend who act like a derange lunatic!" Rainbow Dash snapped.
"She is a danger to us and Equestria. Right sister." Luna said
"Yes sister, It will be better if we just get rid of her. For our sakes. Celestia spoke with no remorse whatsoever.
"I couldn't agree more." Shining Amor agreed.
"No..." Twilight whispered.
The group of ponies started to approach her. All with deadly looks in their eyes.
"No... stop.... Please... STOOOOOOOOOOOP!!!!!"
Sombra watched Twilight writhe on the floor in pain. As though she was being beaten to death. Her tears and pleas did not stop as she frantically flew her arms around as if she was attempting to protect herself from her invisible attackers; using her hands as sheild. When the spell finally wore off, Twilight had been reduced into nothing but shivering mess on the floor. Curled up in a ball crying loudly. Sombra smiled softly and approached the broken unicorn. He finally broken her. He layed beside Twilight before removing his cape and placeing it on her. Twilight snuggled at the soft, comforting fabric. The first comforting thing she's felt since her capture. She felt the weight of the crystal collar around her neck suddenly vanished. She continued to cry from there.
"Sweet Twilight..." Sombra crooned as he gently pulled the mare into his embrace. He was pleased to see that she did not pull away, but actually clung onto him for comfort. Pressing her face against the cold armor covering his chest. "Now do you belive me? The ones you once saw as your friends betrayed you, just like my friend when I lived in the 'crystal empire'. They care nothing for you. They've abandoned you."
Twilight whimpered loudly and pressed herself even closer to the gray umbrum stallion. Sombra smiled and gently caressed her mane with his hand. "Don't worry, beloved Twilight. I will never be like them. I will allways be by your side no matter what happens. I'm your only real friend."
Twilight sniffled and her loud sobs had been reduced into nothing but broken whimper. Eventually, she gave in to exhaustion and fell asleep right in Sombra's arms. Wrapped in his warm, cozy cape. The gray umbrum stallion grinned victoriously and gently brushed his lips near her horn. It will be a long road to recovery for her. But all she needed was some food and rest on a comfy bed. And luckily for him, he knew just the bed to ues.
Sombra smiled. He was looking forward to the next step to his plain.

One week as past.
Sombra walked in the ruins of the crystal palce. The stairway in the center of the throne roon still open. As he walked down nearing the bottom he placed he hand on the wall. A door appear. He then open it and the room was his old studies. The desk still has his journal of his life in the crystal empire, how the ponies bully him becaues he was not a crystal pony. He looked and one of the walls of the room and saw the door. The gate way to the shadow prison. Above said in old crystal ponish 'quam tenebrae' or in new ponish 'darkness beyond'
He ignore the warning for the old crystal ponies that inprison his people. The King open the door with his magic. The way was dark but suddenly red eyes surounded by green like his appear in font of him. The umbrum mare looked like him. She had armor but a gray and purple mix to it. Her mane and tail was black as night but glowed purple. she had a purple cape like Sombra. She was a lowborn umbrum but she was Rabia, former Princess of the Umbra Empire, Wife of Prince Somber. Daughter-inlaw of Emperor Erebus and Empress Nox Eternis.
"Sombra." She said "Have you done it. Is the weapon destroy."
"Yes mother." Sombra said "It is destroy and I have claim my grandfather's throne"
Rabia smiled at her son she was so proud of him. "Our time has come. For 2000 years we where imprison, we prepared. We grew stronger. While they rested in there cradle of 'power', believing that they were safe and protected. They believe there alicorns can lead them but they are decived. As our power over umbra has blinded them. And they assumed that harmany will save them!"
Behind Rabia where thousands of eyes of umbrums. "And now. FINALLY we have returned."

Umbraenstein: Umbra Castle
One year later...
"Chin up, Dashie! Today's a special day!" Pinkie chirped. Rainbow Dash managed to put up a brief smile before it quickly faded away.
In perfect honesty, she didn't want to come along today. She'd rather be with the Wonderbolts in training for the coming war with Sombra. After the funeral of Twilight Sparkle, Cadence, and Shining Armor; Princess Celestia is preparing for a coming war from Sombra. But a year has past and Equestira is not really ready for war or has never had experience war since over one thousand years. She vowed to destroy King Sombra and the umbrum. Things haven't been the same since the service that was held for both Twilight, her brother and her sister in-law. While everyone else returned to their normal routine, the mane six (formally) grew a bit distant of one another.
Spike went on to live with Rarity and became her assistant, but he rarely ever spoke unless asked a question. It took him months of therapy to stop the night terrors that plagued ever since the Crystal Empire incident.
Applejack started to spend more time at her farm and less time with her friends. Taking her mind off of things by working.
Fluttershy retreated to her cottage near the Everfree Forest and the animals that inhabited it. Feeling that it would be best if she spent more time with her animal friends. Hanging out with Rainbow Dash and the others just brought back too many painful memories.
Rarity worked twice as hard at her boutique. Designing more and more dresses just to keep her mind off of Twilight and her friends. But whenever she saw a certain shade of purple, she would cry. Spike was her only acception during those kind of situations.
Pinkie Pie was still Pinkie Pie, but grew less energetic and threw fewer parties. When she did, they just didn't have that exciting thrill like they used to. And she never used purple. Never.
And Rainbow Dash? Rainbow Dash took to the skies. Spending most of her time in the never-ending sea of blue to try and fly her worries away. It worked at first. But over time she just couldn't let go of the fact that Twilight was truly gone. She had joined the Wonderbolts when they had release recruitment campaigns because on Princess Celestia. She had dreamed of being a Wonderbolt, but she wished Twilight was here. She hopes on seeing Sombra's execution.
Princess Celestia hasn't taken another student since the service. Instead she concentrated on her duties as ruler of Equestria. For the first time since banishing Nightmare Moon in the moon itself, she was grief stricken. Princess Luna, on the other hand, wouldn't rest until she had Sombra dead by her hands.
Since losing both their children, Night Light and Twilight Velvet left Canterlot to a different town far away. The exact name of the town wasn't mentioned before they left. Only that "they just needed to forget". They haven't been heard since.
Today was a partly cloudy day for Canterlot. Everypony went on with their usual business. A few acknowledging the pink and blue ponies that walked by before going back to work. Outside of Canterlot they approached the spot where the service was held. A small plaque was placed there to honor the memory of Twilight Sparkle; since she didn't have a grave mark.

"No need to be so gloomy, you guys!" Pinkie Pie suddenly spoke. Breaking the silence. "Turn those frowns upside down! It's what Twilight would've wanted us to do. She would've wanted us to be happy today."
The ponies stared at her silently. Some in slight dismay. "She's right..." Rainbow Dash finally whispered.
"What?" Rarity asked.
Rainbow Dash blinked away a few tears that were beginning to appear in the corner of her eyes. She turned to her friends. "It's only been an entire year since we lost Twi, Shiny, and Cadance. Twi would want us to move on and live happy like we did before. The least we could do is smile on her birthday for her..."
Smiles appeared on the faces of the other ponies. "Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie are right." Princess Celestia spoke in her angelic voice, "This is what Twilight would want from us: to smile."
Spike sniffled before letting out a choked sob. "I-I miss her so much." he whimpered as he buried his face in his little hands and cried. Rarity gently wrapped her arm around him and pulled him into a loving embrace. "It's okay, Spike..." she whispered tearfully, "I miss her too. We all do..."
"Always remember that Twilight is with her brother in a much better place." Princess Luna added. "She is watching over us everyday. Let's continue living. For her... For Shining Armor... For Cadance"
Spike wiped nose with his wrist and nodded. Managing to put up a small smile.
Rainbow Dash said nothing. Her head lowered and ears flat against her skull. She took a moment to remember the good times she spent with Twilight. All those adventures they shared with their friends. How they were able to Nightmare Moon and reunite Celestia with by using the elements. How they were able to defeat Discord and turn him to stone once more. How they foiled Queen Chrysalis plans at Shining Armor and Princess Cadance's wedding. Everything they did, they did together.
"Happy birthday, Twi... I love you..." the blue pegasus whispered as a tear trickled down her cheek. It just wasn't the same without Twilight. She had to admit, she missed the unicorn's loving laughter. She missed Twilight entirely. A boom was suddenly heard and rain started to fall. Everyone fell silent. Doing nothing as the rain fell on them. Putting out the candle that was resting in front of the plaque.
"Even the heavens shed tears for our loss." Princess Celestia whispered. Allowing heavens tears to cleanse them of their grief and sorrow. Rainbow Dash said nothing as she watched the rain fall. Raindrops blended in perfectly with her tears.

CH5: Unter Der Schwarzen Stern
In the Crystal City on the headquarters of the Umbra Guard or UG. The paramilitary of the empire, the keepers on order, or some call it 'Sombra's Will and keepers of his vision' as they did most of the 'dirty work' or 'the great plan's of the King'. They also operate and 'keep order' of The Imperial Territory of North Land formerly know as Yakyakistan and the Yaket Range.
The dark gray umbrum with a white horn and a black mane sat in the office on the Umbra Guard headquarter. His black military officer uniform with his over coat had is rank on it as he was the who is the leader of the Guard. He tap his finger on his deck waiting for some pony to walk in. Behind his office chair he sat in was the Umbra Guard flag; It was just a back flag with the white 'U' with the 'G' hooked with each other. A smaller Umbra Guard flag was also on is right arm like an armband, that was stander for all Umbra Guard members
Suddenly a knock at the door. The Umbrum sigh and thought 'He is late. '
The Umbrum looked at the door "Come in." His voice had a umbrumish accent.
A white unicorn with a gray mane with light purple eyes walked in his rank on is black military officer uniform was that he general or in Umbrum ranking Obergruppenführer. He salute and at attention, "Sorry I'm late Reichsführer-UG Erra Steinherz." The unicorn said with discipline.
Erra smiled seeing his friend. "At ease, Weiße Feder. How goes up in the North land."
"Every thing is going good Erra." He said will a smile. "You need to come to Castle Eisendrachen, we are getting more ancient technology from the old umbrum vaults and Dr. General Pestilence Nekron had been working on the what he calls 'Wunderwaffen' and also the Super Soldaten projekt. As for the sub-creatures like the yaks they are mining way as they should be. I'm glad no crystal pony has to do that thanks to our wise Leaders."
"Ja, that sounds great Weiße Feder. Sounds like you're having fun in the North land, but I have to deal with the Umbra Council." Erra Steinherz said. "Maybe I should go to Eisendrachen. This is a good report to send to The King, and The Queen."
"Few have seen the Queen; face to face; most ponies only see is only portraits of Her and the King. Unless you are in the Umbra Guard or the Imperial Royal Umbra Guard." said Weiße Feder.
"Ja, but soon ever pony will Call there there King and Queen. Or maybe as Emperor and Empress" Erra smiled "Specking of the Imperial Royal Umbra Guard, I got information that the Captain of the Imperial Royal Guard is bring this 'pawn of celestia' to the King. This final day this 'pawn' will not live. And so will be the so call hope on the Crystal Empire." Erra started to laugh.
"Yes, once the 'pawn' is got, They cannot stop the Umbra Empire." Weiße Feder started to laugh. "Long live The King, long live The Queen!"
Erra smiled. "Ja, they will all pay. Long live The King, long live The Queen."
***Umbra Castle***
In side the dark castle a General of Umbra army walked in the halls looking for someone. This castle was created by the Emperor Erebus and Empress Nox Eternis with there our magic. Now is the home of the King Sombra and The Queen. The Gerneral was diffrent that to other ponies in the army , she is a Thestral, a pony of the night. She is a Norther Thestral, ones that live in the mountains of the North. She had bright yellow eyes, her skin was dark red. Her mane and tail was darker than her body color.
The guards stand attention when they here her boots. They are the Imperial Royal Guard. They have armor of Black a red. It is the finest armor in the empire and they had submachine guns. They guarded the Imperial Royal Guard Captain's office and look at the her and salute. "General." The stallions said.
"I come to tell your Captain an order from the King." She said.
They nodded, and open the door. She walked in and see the caption setting in her office chair. The Captain had black armor, her body color was a dark red wine. Her mane and tail was a bright red. Her mane was short but it was in a mohawk style. She is a unicorn but her horn is cut by a Ursa minor and the scar on her face.
"General Darkwing, what dose the king want me for now." The caption said.
"Captain Tempest Shadow, I have an order from the King himself." Darkwing said. "He said he wants you to bring the prisoner to the throne room. Its time"
Tempest nodded she knew what that means. "Very well, I will do what his majesty wishes."

Tempest went to the prison block of the castle. The prison was under the castle build by the Erebus to trap and torture his enemies. The prison is enchanted with dark magic to make any pony or any creation break by there dreams. Dreams of death, torture, and temptation. The cell blocks had no window and it was pure black. Now it is for Sombra's enemies, but it only had one enemy. One that could stop him and the umbrum.
Tempest arrive at the cell door, two guard where there guarding the prisoner. They salute to the their captain. "Its time." said Tempest
The guards opened to door and there in the darkness of the ceil was the none other than Princess Mi Amore Cadenza or Princess Cadance. She had bit lock up since King Sombra's triumph. Every night she did nothing but lay herself in that same exact position, crying herself to sleep. Her multicolored mane was disheveled, and faded. Her chains and neck brace had left deep scars in her fur coat and skin. She had her horn and wings cut of so that she may not escape and her horn was a trophy to Sombra. She was only wearing ruff rags of clothes that we're very uncomfortable.
Cadance got up 'No use of resisting her', she thought. She knew that it this will be the last day of her live. Half of her was happy. She will join the ones she loved. But the other half of her wanted to save the empire from King Sombra and the Umbrums so that all of Equesrtia will not be like this. She hoped the crystal ponies would fight back, but they never did. In her mind she need that ruling and protect the Crystal Empire was her destiny. But now seeing the ancient city that Sombra's Family ruled. She now thinks that her destiny is a lie.
Tempest yanked her chains a bit, gesturing for her to come with her. Cadence began to take a few steps towards , she now realized that Tempest has a broken horn. Cadence's weak legs only having enough energy to go so far. The moment she had gotten beside the guard, she collapsed on to the floor. Tempest yanked her chains a bit that told her to 'get up or I will kick your ribs.' Cadence got back up. Tempest smiled "Come 'princess'; lets go to His Majesty."

What seemed like ages of walking through countless hallways and stairs that seemed to be a thousand steps or more, the two were now where they finally arrived; The Imperial Throne room.
The room was four times as large as the one in Canterlot. Legends said the who ever sit on the Thrones can control the Windegos and a ancitent sky ship fleet. A red carpet path way that point to the Umbra Thrones. You can see all of equestria here, but all you can see is thunder and red lightning in black clouds
Tempest yanked Candence chain, making her fall to her knees. Tempest wanted to get out of this throne room as quick as possible. But a chill when down her spine as a loud booming voice.
"What have you brought me, Caption?" Said King Sombra.
The sudden burst of the King's voice caused the Caption to jump out her skin a little. She was going to call out for the king. She didn't expect for him to already be here.
Tempest tried to cleared her throat and bowing to him. "I-I brought the princess a-as your commanded, your Majesty."
King Sombra looked as her with eyes that can pierce your soul. He looked down a bit to the Caption left, to see the sleeping mare on the ground beside her. He gave an approving, yet vicious smile.
"Well done, you have prove your loyalty to me." He said.
Tempest raised her head and gave her Supreme a tiny nod. Sombra got of his throme and walk to the two of them , the sound of his armor and iron boots echoed in the room. Tempest was nervously as he stood directly in front of her.
The king glanced down at the broken princess. "Leave us."
She saluting him before leaving the room. Sombra waited until the guard was completely out of sight.
"Princess Mi Amore Cadenza," he said, snarling at the name.
The princess's eyes fluttered open at the sound of her full name being called, despite it being said with no good intentions coming her way. Her eyes looked up from where she was sitting. She wasn't surprised that it was, none other than, the king, looking down at her. Cadence knew that she was going to face him sooner or later.
"Y-yes." She replied with a weakly voice.
"Do you know what day is it." He asked, pacing before her.
Cadence did not know what day it was but she knew what is going to happen to her. "I can guess a pretty good answer, Yo-your majesty."
Sombra raised an eyebrow and the broken alicorn. "And... what is your answer?"
She tried to give him a sort of a scowl, but failed. Instead, she decided to answer his question. “The day where you finally end my pain and misery. And when death takes me I will be with the two ponies I love.” she replied.
He turned toward her, surprised, but at the same time, delighted. The stallion walked in front of her, placeing his hand underneath her chin, and he was laughing?
A confused expression spread across her face. “What’s so funny?”
“Oh Cadence, I’m not the one who plans to ‘end your pain and misery.’” He then came close to her ear and whispered "But she will."
"Wh-who?"
Sombra looked back at the thrones. "Darling, my sweet." He call out. "Would you come here, please?"
The throne room had more that one behind the second throne was a mare. She was not a unicorn but and alicorn, she wears a dark purple dress that faded to black at the bottem of it. She had a silver crown , similar to her lover's. Her mane had not change. The tip of her horn was black as night and her horn was curved like her lover's. Her eye had not change alot but her pupils where slits.
Cadence could not believe her eyes. It couldn't be who she thought it was. She thought she was dead. She was told that she was dead! But she could recognize those eyes and mane anywhere! Here she was making her way towards her and the tyrant that had caused her, and every pony on the empire, nothing but pain.
"Yes, my love." She said to him.
Sombra smiled at her, giving her a full kiss on the lips. Cadence's eyes widened, and was completely stunned. After their lips had parted, his lover had looked the weak mare into the eyes.
"T-Twilight," Cadence said in a whisper. The queen gave her a short nod, confirming her identity. She also a grin appeared on her face.
Cadence was shock for all these days and months, her sister in-law was alive. "I-I-I thought you were dead," she said, her voice now very raspy. "W-we all thought you were dead when the tower fell."
Suddenly Twilight eye changed color the white that surrounded her purple eye was black as the void of space. Her purple eye now change to a dark red. "Oh, no Cadence." She said but cadence saw that she had teeth like Sombra's. "I am alive... But, you won't be for long."
Cadence watched as the king wrapped his arm around Twilight's waist. "No. No! This can't be true! This isn't like you! He's controlling you. He has to be!"

Twilight giggled and nuzzled her King's ear "Don't wait to long, my love." She said whispered in his ear. Earning a shiver from the unicon. She turned to leave the throne room. Swaying her body side-to-side as she did so. Giving him a seductive look. Sombra felt himself tense anf grinned to himself. Twiligth has her way of 'turning him on'.
He then turn his attention to Cadence's bones. 'I have to find some pony to clean this thing up.'
