Melody Orchard
Epilogue
Previous ChapterThree months had passed since the short life of Melody Orchard. A lot had happen that might have made for more of an interesting story between the three. However, as this story is called, Melody Orchard, so it is best that this is how her story ends;
Coloratura had wrapped up another one of her concerts in her usual blaze. Actually, many ponies were saying she had a new fire of passion in her career. Her latest song, Great Romance, having hit the top of the charts in only a week. After an enjoyable Gauntlet that night, she made her way to her hotel room, where a pile of fan mail waited. While she did try to read and even respond to as many as she could, she would only drop everything if one of them was orange or, more recently, blue. Sure enough, two such colored letters stuck out from the mountain of white.
With giddy excitement, she pulled them out and set them on the bed. After some deliberation, she opened the orange on first. A ping of guilt hitting her when she noticed that it was over a month old.
Hey, Ra’s! Loved the new album. Can’t inmagie where you got the insperation for it. 😇
Also, NO! Your’s and West’s joint conspiracy to convert me to be one of these homies has failed! So there!
Coloratura let out a hearty laugh.
Anyways, nothing too much around these parts. Had some fun at a gathering with West’s family as they got to meet his new marefriend for the first time. Later he told me, I think it was one of his brothers, but they pulled him aside to ask, and I quote; how’d you land one of the hottest elements of harmony? West and I had a good laugh about that. He told me it was a bit of an awkward chat when some of them from Kaydences party asked what happened to Melody. But, to keep you a secret, we just went with the story about how she was only visiting, told about when she left the girl had insisted he move on, ‘for her sake!’ And how by chance I was there to comfort him at Carousel Boutique with Melody’s cousin Rarity after she left.
Rara felt a twist in her stomach.
Not much else really. Some ‘fun times’ with our stallion ;) but can’t wait for the next chance to see you.
Love, AJ xoxoxox
Contently sighing, she placed the letter down and the bed, and went to open West’s. She cringed upon realizing that this was only the second letter he had ever sent to her as it made several others she had gotten prior make sense. So was the life of a celebrity.
Hey, Rara!
How’s the new song coming along? Can’t wait to hear it! You pick a title? I have a few ideas. ❤️
Below he named them off. Celestia above she loved how understanding they were.
How’s things going? Hope you’re not missing us too badly. So, I told my dad today that Applejack and I were a thing. Kind of felt bad I didn’t mention you, but I understand! Although I can already picture the talks he’d have of me being in a harem. Speaking of which, yeah, he did give me a talk about moving on so quickly from Melody. Which, while it was made difficult with the whole fusion thing, with the boost of confidence the three of you girls have given my life, I asserted that it was my life, and that AJ made me happy. To which he didn’t protest. And things have been getting better between us.
Anyways, I’m almost done with my latest story. Yeah, still crazy to think I’m actually pushing forward to try and publish something! And with yours and Applejack’s help nonetheless. Anyways. I’m having a hard time with this one scene-
She set the letter down next to Applejacks and looked at herself in the mirror. Thinking about how this had all started. One was because she wanted a break from the spotlight, and two, because of the fear of her fame getting in the way of making any new relationship. Honestly, the fact that both West and Applejack had to keep the full truth from ponies was eating away her for a while now. It didn’t seem fair to either of them, But, there was nothing she could-
Well, that wasn’t entirely true. Still, it would mean a media firestorm. Not to mention all the talking, their family members who would try to elevate themselves because of her. However, it seemed as if they were more concerned for her than what might happen to them if the media found out. Not to say she wouldn’t do anything drastic without making sure that was the case though.
She chuckled at the memory of her, as Melody, on that karaoke stage with West. How afraid he was of making himself look like a fool, even at the risk of his father lecturing him later, and yet, he sang with her anyways.
Pulling out a pen and paper, she wrote;
Hey, guys.
Yeah, tours have been wild, so sorry again for how long it takes for me to get all of your letters. Don’t think I don’t read them, they mean the world to me. Although, I’ve been thinking of a way where we can skip the fan letter route. Maybe something more personal? If I said, yes, get letters from these two for me right away? We can talk about it in person if you're okay with it. Does hearthswarming sound like a good time? If you would both be okay with it, I wouldn’t mind having the chance to meet both of your families, to be honest about us. And, especially to that adorable niece of West, tell them the true story, of Melody Orchard...
The End
Author's Note
Still plan to have silvax edit these last couple of chapters, but yeah. Expect a revised version for future readers. Otherwise, yeah, it’s done. Honestly it’s only my second story I’ve ever done so. And what a ride this story has been
It started with me wanting to write a detailed transformation fetish clop, then it turned into something else as I’d thought to make it more into a self-insertion therapy practice. Of course, being me, there was no way I was going to half-ass it, even if my original plan wasn’t to spend even as much as half of the time I ultimately ended up putting into this story.
Truth be told, I am rather a bit of a self-conscious person in real life. While I ended up tweekinh some of West’s traits here and there, he is largely a reflection of myself and some of the challenges I deal with irl. While this story wasn’t a cure all, I found when I was in deep self doubt and worried about what my dad would say if he saw me acting happy and silly, I could write about that and somewhat understand where he was coming from. As well as to push past those fears to find happiness in my own life. As much in the same way West and Melody (although to a larger extent Coluratura) each had their own self confidence issues they had to deal with, but they’re able to help each other and encourage the best in each other.
Which is something I find the most important in a romantic relationship. If I ever do or don’t ever meet my own Melody Orchard one day...
Which, while I know every person who reads this won’t take away the same things, one i am hoping most can take away from the ending is that you don’t need a Melody Orcahrd in your life to be happy.
I’d elaborate more, but where’s the fun inn or letting the audience think for themselves in understanding what I mean by that. ![]()
And they say self-insert fan fiction is a waste of time. :p it was helpful to me, and even if at the time I finish this the story has only 13 likes and 5 comments not from myself, I hope it may yet be helpful to someone else going through Melodys, West, and my own problems down the lines.
But much like West, I must move on from this story. Again, will come back for a reversion of the final chapters when he’s available, but it’s time for me to focus on other things.
Thank you all again for reading it and for the people who helped to make this a reality, it was an experience I soon won’t forget.
