When I Loved You
Bad Reaction
Previous ChapterCelestia and Chrysalis stood right outside of Canterlot. Celestia stared and Chyrasilis with a stern look on her face.
"Chrysalis, I'm going to give you one chance at this. You need to prove that you and your subjects can stay in Equestria." Celestia explained. Chrysalis quickly nodded her head. "I'm going to the castle, meet me there once you're done talking to your subjects." She said before turning around and walking off.
Chrysalis let out an exhale and stood up, walking further away from Canterlot. She walked into a wooded area to see all of her subjects sitting, waiting for instructions.
"I know this is going to be different, but we all need to make an effort to be good," Chrysalis explained to her subjects. One changeling from the back flew up and waved his hoof to get is Queen's attention.
"Brilliant idea my queen, we can pretend to be good and lead them into a false sense of security before we betray them!
He exclaimed with a wicked grin on his face. Chrysalis shook her head.
"No, we're going to be genuinely nice. We're all going to have to change for the better," Chrysalis said with a smile. Changelings muttered to each other. A different changeling flew up with a confused look on her face.
"Why do we have to change? What do we benefit from this?" She asked. Chrysalis' eyes darted around and she gave a nervous smile. She couldn't let them know she was just using them to get her wife back.
"I just want our kind to have a good impact on the world," Chrysalis said with a fake smile. A changeling raised her hoof and pointed a hoof towards Chrysalis.
"She lying, I heard her whole conversation. She's going to try to use us so she can get her 'Beautiful Celestia' back!" She shouted. A few changelings started to mutter angrily.
"If you're going to change our motive, I say we start our own hive!" A different changeling shouted. "No changelings change! No changelings change!" He started to chant, pumping his hoof in the air. A few changelings joined in the chant, stomping one hoof on the ground and pumping the other in the air. Chrysalis looked at her subjects with a mix of concern and fear. She wouldn't be able to get through to them. She gave a stern look and stomped her hoof on the ground, showing that she was in charge.
"I am your queen and you will do as I say!" Chrysalis shouted, stomping her hoof on the ground. Her subjects continued to chant, talking over Chrysalis. The changeling that started the chant flew in front of Chrysalis and waved his hooves in the air.
"Do you think we deserve a queen who called off an invasion for some girl? Follow me and I will lead you all down the right path!" He shouted. All of the changelings cheered at that. "Follow me!" He exclaimed, flying above Chrysalis. Hundreds of changelings followed their new leader. They all flew into the night sky like a swarm of bats. Chrysalis watched as her subjects disappeared into the night sky. She let out a soft sigh and turned around.
"Um, excuse me?" A male voice asked. Chrysalis turned back around to see three changelings. She looked them up and down.
"Why didn't you leave with the others?" She asked with a scowl. A changeling stepped forward with a small smile on his face.
"We think you're doing the right thing by being good." He said. Chrysalis looked at the three changelings, surprised that they wanted to join her.
"What are your names?" She asked. Her hive was so big that she couldn't keep track of all of her subjects.
"I'm Thorax, this is Ocellus, and that's Tymbal," Thorax said with a smile. Chrysalis eyed the three changelings. Thorax looked very eager to become good. Ocellus was hiding behind Thorax's leg, looking rather afraid. She looked very young compared to the other changelings. This must have been her first mission. Tymbal also looked happy to become good. She looked much more peaceful than Thorax. Chrysalis let out a sigh.
"Let's go my subjects, we have a lot of good to do," Chrysalis said, turning around and walking away. Her subjects followed happily. She needed to make this work.
Chrysalis, Thorax, Ocellus, and Tymbal walked into the throne room. Celestia sat on her throne and looked at Chrysalis and the other changelings.
"Where are the rest of your subjects?" Celestia asked. Chrysalis stood up straight and kept a brave look on her face.
"All of my subjects decided to start their own hive. These are the only ones that remain." She explained. Celestia let out a soft hum and looked the changelings up and down.
"Tomorrow morning you four will fix the damages you did to the city," Celestia instructed. She gestured for a few guards to come over. "Please send these changelings to a guest room, I need to speak to Chrysalis privately." She said. Two guards nodded their heads and led the changelings out of the room. The heavy doors closed with a slam.
Chrysalis swallowed nervously, dropping her brave composture. She hunched over in fear and started to tremble. As brave as Chrysalis seemed to be, she was terrified to be alone with Celestia. She was mad at Chrysalis and she had no idea what was going to happen. She knew how Celestia was when she was angry.
"When you're done cleaning up the city, you will help Cadance with anything she needs until her wedding. You will also help Twilight, Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Shining Armor for all of the trouble you put them through. You need to prove yourself worthy of my love." Celestia said in a cold tone. Chrysalis swallowed and nodded her head, taking a step back. Celestia flew off of her thrown and landed next to the changeling.
"Let me show you to your room," Celestia said, walking past Chrysalis. Chrysalis trailed behind Celestia, hanging her head low. They both walked out of the throne room and walked down the hallway. Chrysalis looked around the castle. She had never stopped to look at the scenery of the castle. She was used to being in Celestia's old castle in the Everfree Forest and it wasn't as fancy as this one.
Celestia and Chrysalis stopped in front of a door. Celestia opened the door to reveal a very pretty room. The walls were painted light purple and the floors were checker printed tile. There was a large bed in the middle of the room with big fluffy pillows and a soft quilt on it. There was a nightstand with a lamp next to the bed.
"This is your new room. Theirs a journal in the nightstand. You might want to use it to write out your feelings." Celestia said, turning around. Chrysalis opened her mouth to say something kind to Celestia but closed it before she could say anything. "Get some rest Chrysalis, you have a lot of work to do tomorrow." She ordered while walking out of the room, closing the door behind her.
Chrysalis walked over to her new bed and pressed her hoof on it. The bed was so soft that her hoof sunk right in. She sat down on the bed and sunk down into the mattress. She let out a hum of satisfaction. This was way more comfortable than her bed made out of twigs in the hive. Chrysalis glanced at the nightstand. She thought about what Celestia said about writing out her feelings. She sat up in bed and opened the drawer, pulling out a fuzzy, bright pink journal and a glitter pen. It was obviously meant for a child. She scowled at the sight of it.
"She got me this to mess with me," Chrysalis stated with a soft scowl. She rolled her eyes and opened the journal to the first page. She started to write in with the journal with the bright blue glitter pen. She let the pen glide across the paper as she wrote hateful words onto the page. As she wrote, she started to feel better. Who knew writing about how you felt could make you feel better?
Once Chrysalis finished writing, she let out a breath of relief and placed the journal back into the drawer. Chrysalis flopped back down onto the bed and closed her eyes. She needed to make everything right with Celestia.
