Deep below the waves, in the kingdom of the Sea Queen, Celestia, lived Twilight, the Little Mermare. The seventh and youngest daughter of Celestia, Twilight was a bright and inquisitive Mermare, more at home learning the secrets of the sea from her Aunt Luna, than partaking in performances with her sisters. It was the kingdom on the surface above that most intrigued Twilight, but her mother forbade any merpony from going near it. Twilight was accustomed to admiring the shining kingdom from afar, until one night when she laid eyes on the Princess of the Ponies. Saving her from drowning after a freak storm hit, Twilight was determined. She would find a way to the surface kingdom. Not to simply bask in it’s knowledge and lessons, but to also win the heart of the Princess. She’d fallen in love, and would find someway, anyway, to be part of the Princess’ world.
