Pancakes

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

When Twilight and Rainbow Dash emerged the next morning, rubbing the sleep from their eyes and yawning, they found Pinkie Pie flipping pancakes by the stove.

“Come on, sleepyheads! I’ve been awake for hours!” Pinkie grinned. Dash kissed her sleepily and took a few plates from the cupboards.

“Urgh, having a baby is so exhausting. I can never get enough sleep,” Twilight complained as they sat down.

“You’re telling me,” Rainbow replied grumpily. “I swear, I could join Tank for a hibernation and I’d wake up more tired than ever!”

Eventually, Pinkie quietened them by bringing up a massive plate piled high with pink pancakes, topped with various sprinkles and fruit, sitting on a bed of whipped cream.

“Wow!” Twilight enthused. Rainbow Dash opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by her belly growling like a wild beast. Everyone stared at her and she blushed.

“Heh, heh, sorry.” she rubbed the back of her neck, and when she thought no one was looking, rubbed the small bump on her abdomen.

Soon, everyone was in pancake heaven. It was so good, and they were all so hungry, no one stopped to talk, only ate. Finally, Pinkie finished her pancake, drank her last mouthful of apple cider - Applejack had said that them hungry foals in those bellies would quieten down in no time with her cider - and wiped her mouth dry.

Rainbow took a deep breath. Those pancakes had felt super good going down, but now she wasn’t so sure. Her stomach was twisting uncomfortably and she seemed even more bloated than when she sat down. She rubbed her stomach and it gurgled. Thankfully, no one noticed, although Twilight seemed to look at her a little funny. Rainbow took another deep breath. She could get through this.

Twilight had noticed that her friend looked rather uncomfortable. Remembering how bad her cramps could get earlier on in her pregnancy, she smiled at her reassuringly.

“Are you alright, Rainbow?” she asked kindly. Rainbow groaned.

“I don’t think your pancakes are agreeing with me, Pinks,” she grimaced. Her gut lurched again. Rainbow clapped a hoof to her mouth as an audible rumble cut through the air.

“Oh, sweet Celestia, gotta go!” she cried, and bolted out the room. Pinkie sighed.

Twilight left soon after that, and Pinkie was glad. Much as she loved her friend, she wanted alone time with her partner. But now Dashie was sick.

Rainbow Dash was in bed when she came up. Sliding the covers, the Earth pony scooted under the sheets and stroked Rainbow’s mane off her sweaty forehead. The pretty little pegasus was pale and hot, but smiled wanly at her. Pinkie kissed her, on her nose where she knew it would make her laugh. Rainbow chuckled timidly.

“Are you feeling okay, baby? I’m sorry the pancakes didn’t work out.” she sighed.

“It’s not your fault, Pinks. It’s just this pregnancy morning sickness. Your pancakes were totally awesome!” Pinkie was touched at her loyalty.

“Are you feeling okay now?” Rainbow shook her head and stuck out her tongue.

“I don’t know, to be honest. I mean, I don’t want to throw up, but my stomach hurts so bad-”

Rainbow curled up next to her, groaning. Pinkie had to smile at this display, but also desperately wanted to make Dashie feel better.
When the pain subsided a little, Pinkie pulled Dash until she was half laying on her. Dash could feel the small bump under the pink pony’s skin. The pegasus sighed, and snuggled up to Pinkie like a filly to her mother, putting her head under her chin.

Pinkie put a tender hoof on Dashie’s skin and made small rubbing motions on the bloat. Dash groaned and whimpered.
“Oh… oh, sweet Celestia… oh, it hurts so much,” she bleated. Pinkie hushed her.

“Just try to relax, Dashie. I’ve got you,”

And so Rainbow melted into her body, and tried to relax. Pinkie built up the pressure, rubbing the churning belly back and forth, back and forth. The distended belly groaned and quivered, but softened a little. Eventually, Rainbow Dash stretched and fell asleep, safe in her arms. Pinkie Pie smiled softly, feeling the foal growing in her Special Somepony push to the surface. This wasn’t what she had planned for the weekend, but maybe that was a good thing. She stroked the mane of Dashie’s forehead again, and fell asleep, loving her funny mare.
