Through a dolls eyes

A young woman walks down the bustling new york street her headphones in,head moving with the music.

No longer paying attention to her surroundings she bumps into someone.
She looks up "oh I'm so sorry! I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."

The woman practically growl's at her "well watch where your going next time!"before flouncing away.

"Ugh bitch " she pushes herself off the ground before setting off towards her destination.
A while later she stops infront of a inconspicuous building.

She takes a deep breath,and walks in.
Inside is a single large room full of people.
A path through lies in the middle infront of the door.

She walks the length of the path before coming to a opening. On the opposite side of her is a table with another woman sitting facing her. She glares across the table and signal's another chair brought up.

"Please...sit Celeste."
Celeste takes a breath and steps forward.
She bows her head as she sits.

"Hello mother".
Her mother smiles a cold smile sending shivers down Celeste's back.

"You called for me mother?" Celeste slowly raised her head to look at the woman in infront of her.

Her mother's bright green eyes stare into Celeste's deep blue one's.
"I did. Aren't you happy to see me dear daughter?"

Celeste takes a deep breath. "Of course I am mother,but I have work in an hour."
Her mother hums."yes that silly little job at that small store uptown."

Celeste grinds her teeth. "Yes mother.that job"
Her mother's cruel smile falls, "yes well I'm afraid your going to be quite late."
She now wears a disgusted snarl.

"Do you remember that job I sent you on last month dear... daughter?"
Celeste looks quite confused. "Yes?"

Her mother stares at her again. "And do you remember the young boy you spared?"
Celeste's eyes widen. "Y-yes?"

Her mother closes her eyes. "Well that young boy went to the police."
Celeste pales. "what?.

Her mother stands her hands flat on the table. "Yes I assume you know the punishment from the look on your face."

Celeste's eyes fill with tears. "Mother..."
Her mother looks at her. Though her face remains passive, her eyes show sadness.

" I can not change the rules... Even if I wish I could" she opens her mouth again. "I- someone handle her." She says before turning and stalking away.

A man and a woman step forward. "Come on Celeste let's... Get this over with." The man says gently tugging her out of the chair.

Celeste walks with the pair the man beside her and the woman behind.
Celeste looks up at the tall man.

"Sebastian?" He doesn't look down.
"Don't Celeste. Please don't make this any worse." He looks like he's about to cry.
Celeste looks back at the ground. "I'm sorry."

The woman steps forward and pushes Celeste to her knees.celeste looks up just as the woman aims a small hand gun at her head.

Celeste looks to the man. "Sebastian...I love you... And I'm sorry."

His eyes wide he stumbles forward. NO!

She woke up? "Hello? Is anyone there, I can't feel anything!"
She jolted as she heard a voice
"of course you can't feel anything your dead. But I can fix that. The question is, would you like me to?"

Celeste steeled herself. "What's the catch?" She heard the voice laugh. hah it is rare that someone asks that question. They normally jump at the opportunity for a second chance."

"Well I'd rather not sell myself into slavery accidentally." Celeste snarked back.

"hmm indeed. The catch is I need you to spy on the princess of Equestria.the voice said.

"... Equestria?" Celeste said sounding quite intrigued.

indeed my daughter has a feeling things are about to go very upside down and I would like to have all of the important information.

Celeste was quiet for a moment. "Okay I accept."

" perfect~the voice purred. There was a bright flash and she knew no more.

She came to on a train just as the conductor came to wake her up. Remembering her orders, she thanked him and exited the train.

She then talked to a mare about a job before being told the castle always had jobs open. After hearing that she turned and headed to the castle.

Nearing the gates the guards blocked her way. "Halt! Who goes there?"
She cringed. "I'm star chaser? I was told I could find a job here?"

The guard looked at her. "The only positions open are that of the newly reinstated night guard.
If that sounds like something you would be willing to do, any guard will show you to the barracks."

Star chaser gave him a weak grin. "That...sounds perfect!"
The guard looked at her. "If you say so miss, just head inside and ask for directions."

Star chaser bowed her head in thanks and made her way inside.
Making her way to the first guard she sees she smiles at the guard. "Excuse me? I need to get to the night guards barracks?"

The guard looked at her. "You inlisted for the night guard?"
Star chaser nodded and let out a strangeled "yep".

The guard froze, and then nearly fell on the ground laughing.
Star chaser growled. "Excuse me!?"

"I-i'm sorry! It's just... midnight is gonna destroy you!" The guard started laughing again.

Star chaser sighed. " Are you going to show me where to go or not?"
The guard took a breath. "Of course come-on this way."

She lead star chaser down a few twists and turns and they eventually came out into the training yard.

She turned to star chaser and pointed at a building in white and gold. " That's the day guard's barracks." She pointed to an identical building in purple and silver. "That is the night guards barracks."

She lead star over to the purple building and opened the door. "hey middy! I got a new recruit!. She yelled and then quickly dodged to the left star tried to do the same but was quickly bowled over by a thestral mare in armor.

"Eep!" Star panicked and bucked the mare off. She scrambled to her hooves and took an aggressive stance.
