The day I was adopted

There was a sharp banging noise on my door then out of the corner of my eye I saw my mom stomp into the room and pull the covers off of my bed.

"Time to get up!" My mom screamed at me.

I was taken aback by her lack of emotion in her voice and why she was yelling at me.

"You can get dressed by yourself I'm not gonna help you, I should've never given birth to you!" My mom screamed as she slammed the door.

As mom left my room I started crying because I never thought I would be able to get dressed by myself so I just lay there in my diaper.

A few minutes later mom came back and I was still not dressed, so she just gave me some pants but no T-shirt. I tried to get the pants on, but I couldn't get them over my braces.

Mom looked very very annoyed and helped me.

I have blue eyes and brown hair that covers my ears, I am wearing baby blue pants that show my very thin legs.

My skin is a light blue color, because I was shaken when I was born.

“There, in a few minutes, I don't have to ever help you again!” Mom said as she walked out of the room.
“Let's go downstairs.” Mom commanded as she came back into my room and dragged me down the stairs.

Once downstairs, I was greeted by two young women who were sitting at the table. “Hi, Midnight, how are you?” One of the women with yellow skin with pink hair and a green skirt on asked me.

I did not answer her, instead I just sat there.

“So we are going to adopt Midnight, because we heard about his home life and we feel that it would be best that he comes to live with us.” The other woman with pink skin and hair said.

“If you agree, please sign here,” the woman with yellow skin said to mom as she got out a piece of paper with some writing on it, as she signed it mom showed no emotion in her face whatsoever.

Mom did not hug me she did not look at me either, I didn't understand what I had done wrong.

As we went outside and saw the black van I was wondering where I was going, where were the two women taking me.

As I got into the van, I realized that they were going to hurt me, so I started to cry.

“Hey, what’s wrong, sweetie?” The woman with the green skirt said to me.

The other woman was outside talking to mom about me.

”Hey Fluttershy, he thought that we were going to hurt him.” The woman with the pink poufy hair said to her friend.

“Oh no, we are not going to hurt you.” Fluttershy said, wrapping her arms around me. That was the first time I had ever felt love.

As the van door closed, my mom was standing outside her expression as cold as her heart.

A couple of hours later, we pulled up to a red house with a black roof, I looked at the house in shock. If this is where I was going to be staying, then I was looking forward to it.

Fluttershy saw the excitement in my eyes and smiled.

“Welcome to your new home.” Fluttershy said as we got out of the van, “Let us go inside.”

Above the entryway there was a sign that read “Welcome Home.”

As we went inside I was shown to my new room, it was very big with a couch in one corner of the room and a bed by the window, other than a few pictures on the walls, there was not really much in the room, except for a wheelchair.

“How do you like your new room?” Fluttershy asked me.

A wide smile spread across my face as I took it all in.

“Hey, Pinkie did you bring his luggage from the van?” Fluttershy asked the other woman.

“Um… his mom didn’t pack him any luggage.” Pinkie said as she looked at me with sadness in her eyes.

“Oh, then we have to buy him clothes tomorrow morning,” Fluttershy said.

“Ok so I’ll go to the shops tomorrow morning and you can stay home with Midnight,” Pinkie said.

“Well, good night, sweetie,” Fluttershy said as she tucked me into my bed in my room and turned off the lights as she shut the door a little bit.

That night, I could not sleep, I was so worried that something bad was going to happen.

The next morning, I woke up because Fluttershy came in my room with a tray of food and put it next to my bed as she sat down.

“Hey, Midnight, did you sleep well?” Fluttershy asked me.

I shook my head and started crying.

“Oh, sweetie I wish I could help you.” Fluttershy said on the verge of tears herself, but I did not want to make her feel sad.

I liked Mommy Fluttershy and Mommy Pinkie, they didn’t hurt me like my real mommy did, they made me happy when I was sad.

I looked at the tray on the little round table beside my bed, I’m not sure what it is called, I never had one of those.

Fluttershy places the spoon in my hand and guides it to my mouth but I don't want to eat, I make that very clear by throwing my food around.

“Midnight, you have to eat something, please.” Fluttershy said to me.

My face turns very red as I become more and more upset, Fluttershy just watch as I have a meltdown kicking and screaming all the emotions of the past 16 years coming back.

Just then mommy Pinkie comes in to see what is going on. “I'm not sure what to do, he won't eat.” Fluttershy yells over my screaming.

“Just give it time, I’m sure he will understand that he has to eat,” Pinkie said as she and Fluttershy left the room.

Fluttershy looks back worry edged on her face.
