It has been 8 years since Sunset left and she never wanted to go back. Because she was afraid that if she got to close to Johnny or any of her remaining friends, they would die. Or worse, they would hate her for what she has become. But when she senses something very evil in Canterlot, she goes back to keep up her end of the deal.
