Stardust

“ONE GOD DAMN REASON” Moonlight screamed at her. She looked at him, still surprised at her former general’s appearance, and shook her head.

“I-I” she stuttered in bewilderment. She had been expecting to meet a nice young pony that was shy and liked to read but not, this. It had been so long since that day.

“You… the pod… Stardust…” she stammered awkwardly gaining her speech back.

“You haven’t answered my question” he said quietly. She hung her head.

“I-I have none” she said, defeated “I have none”. Moonlight looked down at her, then up to the stunned mares.

“How can you do it” he said, still pointing the weapon, “How can you live with yourself knowing that you abandoned your own planet”. She looked up at him with big eyes and then hung her head again.

“Sunbolt, Starlight, all those soldiers and civilians” he looked out the window, his tone becoming softer “all those people and you just left them for dead”. She looked up at him with sad eyes and sat down.

“What happened there?” she asked “What about Sunbolt and St…”

“THEY’RE DEAD CELESITA” screamed Moonlight, interrupting her “THEY GAVE THEIR LIVES DEFENDING THEIR PLANET” he closed his eyes in fury “something that was obviously not important to you”. He walked toward the entrance, pushing the six aside.

He opened the door and looked back one last time “you make me sick” he said disgustedly and slammed the door behind him.

The six friends looked at Celestia with mixed emotions. She looked back and found it impossible to talk. Quietly, with their stares burning into the back of her head, she left the library.
