To Buy A Succubus
The Ring (Remaster)
Load Full StoryNext ChapterSpike Draco sat at his desk and stared at his computer screen, bored out of his mind. He drummed his claws on the desk and tried his hardest not to blow smoke rings, having learned the hard way last time that the smoke alarm and sprinklers in the building definitely work. He scrolled through different websites on his computer trying to waste time, anything to break the monotony of his job. Every day it was the same thing, his boss would drop off a pile of manuscripts for him to read through. It wouldn’t be so bad if most of the stories that came across his desk weren't just the same old story and plot just with different character names and new locations. Spike looked over at the pile of manuscripts piled up on his desk and gave a sigh, pushing them to the back of his mind. With all the overtime he had done recently he just needed a break.
Back on his computer he clicked on the website link opening it up to one of his guilty pleasures. This was what brought him to where he was now—looking through them. Small trinkets off on auctions, though he was looking at were mainly junk. Items that were held up claiming to be haunted. A doll, with a supposed spirit of a windigo. A pendant that contained a Tantabus. So, on and so forth. While all this stuff was definitely fake, they were much more interesting than the pile of slosh written by writers who honestly couldn’t write.
There seemed to be an abnormally large number of items up for sale today as he scrolled down the page, with each item describing something crazier and more unbelievable as he went. Anything to try and entice that some sucker to buy them. Spike let out a sigh as he refreshed the page, normally he would get a good laugh out of these things but today he just wasn’t feeling it. He looked up from the computer and at the clock on the wall and saw that it was 1:30pm already. With a growl from stomach he figured it was time to head out and get some lunch as well as some fresh air and then back to actual work.
As Spike starts to stand up his computer dings signaling a new item for sale with the simple title of ‘Succubus for Sale’. Spike sat back down and looked at the new item as if he was drawn to it somehow.
“A succubus? That’s new.” He proceeded to click on the link, which opened up with the sales pitch, and it was clear that it was trying to catch a person’s attention.
For Sale, a once in a lifetime opportunity, the ability to purchase a Succubus. Never before has an opportunity like this had ever happened? It isn’t smoke and mirrors, a man of the Cloth once owned it. He was the father in my town, who had been around for over fifty years. He had died two months ago. When going through his stuff, I found a small box containing the ring. In his handwriting, he described how he had trapped the creature in the ring and kept it hidden away from the world.
So, now, I am allowing you to buy this ring for yourself and the chance to experience pleasure beyond your wildest dreams.
This rare and amazing item should be worth thousands of dollars but I’ll take any reasonable offer.
This caused Spike to raise his eyebrow as he looked at the Page and found himself beyond curious. As he looked over at the picture of the ring it appeared to be a fairly old ring, with a few carved images on it. From the angle, Spike was looking over it and thought he saw the Star of David on the outer edge scratched into it. While slipped inside a cross. It also had two Alicorns on it, one looking angelic with the traditional feathered wings and the other more demonic with bat-like wings. It definitely looked old and needed a good polish.
It popped out compared to others he normally saw on eBay, where creatures would present rings that supposedly contained ancient and looked all new and flashy. While, in reality, were cheap pieces of metal, they bought from the local Barnyard Bargains and made these claims. Spike had to cover his mouth as he laughed at the thought of it.
“Yeah, like who would be stupid enough to go and fall for a stupid trick like that.” He said to himself but just as he went to go close down the page he stopped as that same feeling that drew him to open the page came back, he sighed and made a small laugh,
“Screw it, what's the worst that could happen.”
He clicked on the bid and placed one for twenty bucks as a single bid. Besides, what would be the worst that could happen, he either ends up out bid or he ends up with a cheap piece of jewelry that looked creepy that he could wear on Nightmare Night.
“Sounds like a win to me,” with everything processed, he turned around, shutting his computer off, reached over grabbing one of the random manuscripts, and just walked off, a slight limp as he moved onwards. Spike’s stomach growled as he was passing the cubicles. He looked over and saw Gabby, she was a pretty, petite grey griffon that worked a couple of cubicles down from him. She was always fun to talk to as she had a similar sense of humor to him. Although with how monotonous the job was, he didn’t know how she stayed so happy and bubbly all the time.
She was currently in the zone as she read over the pages of a particular manuscript that she seemed to be invested in. Spike saw on the cover the title ‘The Webs of Desire’.
“So, what’s this one you’re reading about?” Spike asked as Gabby marked down where she was up to and looked up at Spike.
“Oh, you know just your average Supernatural Erotica, though this one has the twist. The love interest is a mare who’s half spider.”
“Sounds like the writers a leg man,”
“That he is, they keep writing about her legs. Major boner for the things, but they’re so cute together, and she’s trying so hard not to eat him.”
“Better love story than 50 shades of Hay.”
“By a long shot, anything is better than that but seriously if the story wasn’t so clichéd it would almost be a decent story rather than an obvious self-insert. So where are you heading? Out to lunch?” Gabby asked as she stretched her arms and wings trying to wake herself up after the constant reading.
“Yeah, want anything?”
‘Coffee, with a lot of sugar, I need it. I need a lot of sugar!” She yawned out as loud as she could emphasize the need for the caffeinated drink.
Spike wrote down her order and headed over to the elevator, the auction already escaping his mind. Getting off on the ground floor Spike walked to the main entrance of the building. Horn-Stone Publishing was the name of the business well known for their harlequin novels, as well as fantasy and the occasional erotica.
Making his way outside, Spike made his way down to the street and could see the deli across the road as well as the endless stream of traffic driving by. Spike looked around making sure that there weren’t any police officers around and that the path was clear before spreading his wings and taking flight to get over the traffic. It had been for awhile now in Manehatten illegal for flying creatures to fly though most of the city. This was due to the combination of the high population density potentially causing accidents in the sky and crashing as well as the slipstreams caused by the skyscrapers that could throw off all but the strongest of flyers.
Landing in front of the deli Spike made his way in, his stomach now roaring as he moved to grab a roast beef sandwich, with a Soda, also making sure to grab Gabby's Coffee. The hot brim cup wrapped around his hand. While the sandwich and soda hung in a bag on his side, Spike held onto it as he began walking out of the deli, waving off from Deli joe, the old stallion who ran the shop. Who waved back?
Spike took a step outside and moved on, deciding not to fly this time and risk spilling the coffee. He saw the traffic light about to change and Spike ran to make them before they changed. Just making it to the other side before the cars started again.
Walking back inside, Spike suddenly found himself walking right into someone, - Somepony he didn’t want to run into. His Boss. It was a miracle that the coffee didn’t spill all over Ms. Harshwhinny’s suit. Ms. Harshwhinny just looked at him with annoyance and detainment, as she straightened out her jacket.
“Is there something you need from me, Mr. Draco?” She asked with that cold voice as if she was keeping herself from letting out her inner bitch all over the place. She turned over and noticed him holding the hot coffee.
“Just getting some coffee, you know how it is, trying to stay awake during a long day.” Spike tried joking some, but it was clear that she wasn’t having any of it. The way her eyes moved reminded her of a predator stalking her prey and considering she was a pony and he was a dragon that was saying something. She was just waiting for the right time to strike.
“Well it looks like you’re in a hurry, get going, but I’ll be needing you to stay over late tonight.” She seemed to have a calmness to her voice as it was just between the two. He couldn’t help ask as he felt the words leave his mouth.
“What do you need me to do, Boss?” Spike smiled some as she watched him, the young man was worried she might sink her fangs into him, with the way her piercing blue eyes watched him. She was never relenting, till finally, she responded to him.
“I’ll be having you send out a few rejection letters, from a few of the manuscripts that have been sent to me directly to check out and to send Yearling a letter letting her know if she doesn’t send me those chapters I’ve been pestering her for, we’ll drop her contract.”
“But Yearling’s one of our biggest names, and she’s been around since the company started.” Spike was shocked though it was clear for one thing, Ms. Harshwhinny didn’t care.
“I know that! I’m the one who chose to pick her up as a client, but she hasn’t sent me the newest chapter for the new book. I’ve warned her before when she was late, but this is her second chance. If she doesn’t send me something, anything, we’ll have to drop her.” Her voice was relaxed even then, as she clearly didn’t give and Spike, simply sighed and nodded,
“I’ll get to work then,” he turned off, popping his neck while walking away from Ms. Harshwhinny. Spike headed back up through the elevator, managing to drop off Gabby’s coffee, and went back to work. He had a feeling it would be a long boring night for him. He continued typing away at his computer, beginning to pass off the letters. While taking a side glance over at the slosh pile and wondering.
How many writers are we going to reject? There has to be something good in there?
That was around four days ago, and Spike started to pull himself up from bed, as he popped his neck and wings. It was Saturday and he had managed to get the weekend off; such a thing was becoming rare, over the last couple of months, it seemed like there was more and more work stacked on him. But he wasn’t going to be bogged down by thing about work as he now had two days in a row to relax, work was future Spike’s problem.
Spike looked around his two-bedroom apartment, he’d been living there for a year, six months on his own after his roommate Big Macintosh moved out to live with his Girlfriend, of a year.
“Well, let’s grab some breakfast.” He got up, and made his way towards the comically little kitchen. That was when he heard the ringing of the doorbell.
“What the?” he hadn’t been expecting anyone. He imagined there would be more of a quiet weekend, maybe check in on his dad. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes Spike stated making his way to the door with the doorbell ringing a second time, so he called out.
“I’m on my way, hold on.” Making it to the front door he opened it to. No one, no one was out there, not a single creature, Spike looked down both directions of the corridor to see if he could catch who it was, but there was still no one there. Giving a sigh Spike turned back into his apartment but some feeling something he had felt before caused him to look down and that’s when he saw it. Next to his door was a small brown package.
“Weird, I wasn’t expecting anything.” Spike said to himself as he reached down, grabbing the package, and brought it inside. Thinking it must have been a mistake he checked for the delivery details.
“Well, it’s got my name and address on it. So, it’s definitely for me I wonder who sent it?” He didn’t find a return address, which was strange. Deciding to come back to it he tosses it on the kitchen counter and makes himself some toast. With breakfast done he goes back to the package; he picks it and gives it one final look over before opening it up.
Inside was a smaller box, specifically, a ring box, light blue, with a soft feel over it. As he opened it up, that’s when he saw it the ring from the other day the one he had placed a bid on.
“Huh, I won.” Said Spike as he took the ring out of the box. “I guess there are worse things to have wasted twenty bucks on”. He looked over the ring the engravings of the alicorns looked even more impressive in real life an on the inside of the ring were etched a bunch of symbols that he didn’t recognise. As he stared at the ring, he got that same feeling when he saw in on the website and when he discovered the package in the hallway. He felt drawn to it as if it was calling to him. He smiled and placed the ring on his ring claw, it fit him perfectly as if the ring was made for him.
“That’s weird…” Spike mumbled as he examined he ring on his claw. It almost felt warm on his claw, not painfully so but enough for him to feel it. That was when he noticed it a piece of paper at the bottom of the package. The paper looked old and had tuned yellow with age, it also had burn marks around some of the edges with some of what was written on it having been burnt off. Spike started to read the letter.
I write this warning towards to they who hold this ring, this ring contains an ancient and powerful creature that most can not comprehend. This creature is a succubus, a creature of lust. She was discovered in a small village in Abyssinia where she was excorsied and locked away in the ring.
A warning then to those that wish to summon this creature, a succubus is not a creature to be taken lightly they have the ability to ravage and remove your very soul. With the soul removed you would be forced into a life of misery and be forced to fulfil their lustful desires.
The enchantments on the ring will bound the succubus to the wearer and that is where the danger lies. This succubus was trapped against her will and may seek vengeance on those the meet first or upon being freed she may be grateful to the wearer. I write this to make sure you know all the facts before you attempt to free the succubus.
If after these warning one were still wishing to summon this Succubus, one must simply place the ring upon their finger, a drop of blood must be placed on the ring and the following sentence spoken as if speaking to your lover
“Ho, Demono de volupto
Mi liberigas vin de via malliberejo
Ĉi tiu ringo ligu nin.
Trovu niajn esperogn kaj dividu ĉi tiun fajron
Neniu dio rompos nian deziron.”
As he finished reading it Spike couldn’t help but give a small laugh
“This has to be a joke. I mean, it’s a good one. Someone has gone through a lot of effort with this.” He took the ring off and placed it back in its box. He got up to put away his dishes but stopped half way to the sink. He stared back at the ring and that feeling came back but stronger this time. He could almost hear a sweet seductive voice calling him back to the ring. With a sigh Spike put his plates down and went back to the ring, what harm was there in giving this a go it was fake, wasn’t it?
He placed the ring back on his finger and the warm feeling from before returned. He picked up one of his knives and pricked the end of his claw with it causing a small drop of blood to come. He brought it over the ring and let the blood drop on it, the blood almost seeming to absorb into the gold.
Without hesitating, he picked up the paper. It shocked him as he saw that the words had now translated to Equish. He wanted to say something but imagined maybe he imagined the whole thing. And he was soon pushed on reading what they said, whispering to it gently. Those sweet, sweet words talking to the ring like it was his lover, or at least he pretended to. He was saying in a calm, soothing voice. His eyes closed as he said those words.
“Oh, Demon of lust,
I free you from your prison,
Let this ring bind us.
Find our hopes and share this fire
As we are indeed the same.
No god shall break our desire.”
He pushed his voice into it as he tried to give passion and excitement. In some ways, he didn’t believe what he was saying as he opened his eyes. He was expecting nothing. And soon looked around him. What he saw… Was complete nothing—nothing had happened everything was still the same as it was a second ago.
“Yeah, I figured as much” He reached over to take the ring off, but hissed in pain as he touched it. It was hot, it had burnt his claw. How was that possible he was dragon his family regularly took trips to swim in lava lakes over the summer so how had it burnt him?
“The fuck!” He muttered, as he looked at the ring which had now turned a dark crimson red. That’s when he heard a voice, like the one he heard before but where the previous one sounded like someone talking from far away the voice was now clear as if the person was close. The voice sounded husky and almost come out as a lustful moan
“You’ve released me, and as those words state, I shall be bound to you for eternity. We are one, I am you, and you are me.”
“Gahh!” Spike screamed as he grabbed his head; it felt like his skull was about to split, pushing everything around as the room started spinning. His body felt as though it was on fire. As he moved over walking to the couch, he grabbed down onto it as he took deep breaths.
“Help me! Someone Help!” he tried to call out but came out more as a hoarse whisper. Spike was afraid. Whatever he did. Whatever was going on was not good as he fell to his knees. The ring was glowing brighter. His claws were burning. It was as if he was in the fires of Tartarus. He tried to hold on as long as he could but the pain became too much to bear and Spike collapsed and passed out on the edge of his couch.
Silence overwhelmed the room as Spike would lay there. He was slowly beginning to envision a mare, a mare beyond words. With such passion. A mare who could be mistaken for as an angel.
