He then noticed white eyes peering at him in close proximity to his hair. He backed up before the thing showed itself. “What are you?! Stay back!” The things eyes stopped glowing an what appeared to be a lion. This lion had round ears, pink fur, black eyes, a soft light pink star-shaped mane, and a dark brownish-magenta heart-shaped nose. It yawned and just licked its paw. He pets the lion, out of fear or instinct he did so. The pink lion recuperates with lifting Marcus’ shirt, revealing a pink gem in place of his belly button. “Wha?! What is this?” he pulled it as it hurt to pull it off, but a jolt of pain made him stop “And why won’t it come off?!” It hit him “Do I have… The pink diamond gem?” Lion then lifted Marcus up onto its back with it’s head. Lion then roared, causing a warp to appear. Lion jumps into the warp, shocking Marcus… and also a lot of ponyville folk as the lion warped there. Then, a yellow pegasus came up to the pair. That was Fluttershy. “We are not gonna hurt you two, ok?” She said as the lion just yawned and Marcus got off and petted his companion/pet. “Hello. I didn’t know you guys could speak. I’m Marcus, a gem and human hybrid. This here is my companion and pet Lion.” she was surprised when he talked. Marcus then looked at the lion. “Lion do you have Rose’s sword? Blink once if you do.” Lion blinked as Marcus touched his mane. It glowed as he reached into the mane. He pulled out the sword as most ponies gasped and whispered. The sword had a slightly dark pink with a hint of red pommel resembling a rosebud with rose quartz embedded in it. The guard and knuckle bow of the sword were pink with the guard having an image of a four-petaled white flower in the middle. The grip was a dark pink, and the grip, guard, and knuckle bow were inscribed with a twirling thorn design. The sword's cupped hilt and broad blade with its tantō tip were reminiscent of a 17th-century military cutlass. This bright pink blade emitted a white aura when it was pulled from Lion's head. At the base of the blade, the rain guard was shaped like a pink rose with the two outer petals being dark pink. It was still in its sheath as Marcus strapped it onto his back. A velvet mare ran to Marcus and Lion. “WOW! What type of magic is that?! And what is with that sword?” He shrugged as he petted the lion. This was Twilight. “Well it used to belong to someone, but she… is gone.” His face dropped a bit and she looked concerned. He then asked where he was as she told him he was in equestria. He then sighed as many other ponies gathered around. Turned out, those ponies were the elements of harmony. He then was thrown a party. Why? Why not! And off the bat, Twilight could tell Marcus wasn’t just a normal human… well used to. “I am normal! I swear!” He said as he got a look from two mares. They were Applejack And Rainbow Dash. “Oh really? We can tell that your lying. What are you truly?” Rainbow dash asked as he sighed in defeat. “I’m a hybrid. A Human and a Gem.” Everyone was confused. A gem? “Darling, do you mean that in a literal sense?” Rarity asked. He nods to confirm. “Yup. Gems are an extraterrestrial species of "magical", roughly humanoid beings. 5,750 years ago, the Gem Homeworld maintained several outposts on Earth, with plans to completely colonize the planet, but were driven off by Rose Quartz's rebellion, leaving the Crystal Gems (and various Corrupted Gems) as the only remaining Gems on the planet. Earth is where humans live.” He lifts up his shirt, revealing his gem “Believe me now? This isn't some sort of accessory, but my gem. I’m not sure if… hold up.” He closed his eyes. He then stuck out his tongue and it glowed a pink hue. It started to stretch unnaturally. And he wiggled it around, not knowing it was in front of Rarity’s face. She like the forever drama queen, fainted. It then shrunk back to normal size. “HOLY CRAP! HOW ARE YOU ABLE TO DO THAT?!” He looked smugly as Fluttershy was distracted by giving Lion a belly rub. “I’m half alien.” Rainbow gave him a middle finger. He laughed until he noticed its sundown. “Uhh that reminds me: Me and lion need a place to stay.” “You can stay here!” Twilight exclaimed. “Ok, but no experimenting.” she nods. Over the past few days Marcus had been in equestria, it's been more peaceful than his existence on earth. Albeit uneventful, it did have its perks of staying in a castle. He met Spike which in his words: is the miniature version of steven. All but without the gemstone for a belly button… cause he doesnt have one. Today was the day where Marcus was going to meet Twilight’s big brother and his daughter. He was just in Lion’s pocket dimension (how? He learned how to bubble his head so he could breath) when he heard Twilight's voice. “They’re here!” She shouted as he hopped out of Lion's mane, startling the pink fluff. He hopped onto Lion, as he pointed forward, Lion roared, opening a warp. Twilight was shocked when he came in with Lion. “Sup.” He said casually. “So you're that human Twilight told me about.” he looked up to see a unicorn “Hi kid, the name is Shining Armor. Yours?” He extends his hand. “My name is Marcus... uhhh…” His last name was kinda boring so he came up with “Quartz. Marcus Quartz.” He chuckles. As Lion just yawns, then flops onto the floor. “That must be your pet. What's his name?” He just shrugged. “Neve came up with one, so I just call him Lion. That reminds me.” He walked over to Lion and went into his mane, shocking Shining Armor. “Wha? How?!” He didn’t have his sword, and he wanted to show it off. He came back out with Rose’s sword. Shining observed it. “This is one fine sword. Who made it?” Shining asked as Marcus rubbed his chin. “That would be Bismuth. Bismuth forged the sword for Rose Quartz to wield in battle. Bismuth described it as her "finest piece of work", able to easily destroy the physical form of a Gem, but unable to shatter the gemstone itself.” “Who’s Rose?” Marcus smiled awkwardly. “She’s… kinda like my mom in someway…”
A Gem MutantView OnlineRoses And GemsA Gem Mutant“Umm… dad?” Marcus heard a voice from behind him. He looks to see another alicorn in the same age range as he is. She was Flurry Heart. He then turns to Shining. “Is that your daughter?” he nods “Didn’t take you for a guy to have kids. Nevertheless, greetings.” He bows and she blushes. “H-Hi. My name is Flurry. Not to be mean, but what are you?” He just shrugged. He knew about him being a diamond, but right now, he doesn’t really want to tell them yet. “A hybrid.” He says as he raises up his shirt, revealing his pink gem. She touched it, as he giggled. It turns out he’s quite ticklish near his gem. “Hehe. Ok I’m kinda ticklish near my gem.” she laughs a bit as Shining Armor had an unreadable expression on his face. He then remembers something that he can do. “Hey, wanna see something cool?” She nods. He closed his eyes as a circle on his head was glowing. Marcus possesses some level of the natural shapeshifting abilities typical of Gems. Then, a horn emerged from the glowing circle, shocking Shining Armor. “How in the world…” He muttered under his breath as the horn disappeared. Flurry clapped and giggled as Marcus just smiled. So half of Marcus’ day was playing around with Flurry and trying to summon his shield, but ultimately failed. He was a bit disappointed by this, but Flurry told him that he’ll get the hang of it in no time. He smiled at her. Now when it was dinner time, Lion tried sneaking food off of Marcus’ plate, in response, he told him that if he didn’t cut it out, he would not give him any, period. Some guards came barging into the dining hall. Marcus was concerned, knowing something is going down is sweat dripping down their eyebrows, and both of their spears were snapped off. Shining Armor got up as the guards started to pant. Twilight was shocked. “Hey, what’s going on here?!” Shining asked. “M-M-MONSTER!” They shouted all at once. Marcus looked concerned. As Shining Armor was about to ask what it looked like, Marcus stepped up and asked what it looked like. “What did the thing look like?” “It looked like a bunch of body parts attached to it. For a head, it had fingers. And last, hands were for walking on!” A guard said. Marcus drew out his sword suddenly. Lion was just asleep in a corner. “Did it have a Gem like I do?” The other guard nods. “Gem mutant! I’ll be right back!” He ran out into the halls. And sure enough, there the thing was, ready to tear some guards apart. He ran and casted his shield. Because Marcus’ powers are maternal, he is required to feel a strong need to protect and help others to call his shield out. At that point the guards ran away as Marcus pushed the mutant gem back. He did, but it charged at him as he made a bubble shield as the thing tried to crush it. Flurry ran out of the dining hall, with her father after her. “FLURRY! GET BACK HERE! IT'S NOT SAFE!” Shining shouted as Marcus’ bubbled her. He then pops the bubble shield as he draws his sword out of its sheath. He slashed the thing in the middle. It then puffed into smoke. Flurry was mortified. Did… he just kill that thing? He walked to the Gem and bubbled it. he then taps the top, sending it into Lion's mane. “Oh and before you say anything, no, it's not dead, just bubbled.” “Can’t you help them?” Flurry asked. He sighs. “There is no helping them, they're too broken. The beings who used to be in those shards are so shattered, they don't know who they are or what's happening around them. They just seek out other Gems, looking for the missing pieces of themselves, trying to make themselves whole.” Shining Armor was about to speak, but was cut off. “No, I didn’t do this. That would be the diamonds.” He said as he just went up to Flurry. “I know this is kinda scarring, but there is a way to help them, but… I can't do it right now.” He said.

Marcus has the power to heal animals and plants, as well as repair Gems and inanimate objects. He can also heal common human injuries and conditions. And on top of that, for protecting Flurry, he got paid, BIG TIME. He had enough to buy a good home, which he knows how to take care of himself because he didn’t have parents at the time, and some food to hold him over and just a bit more to buy a certain something: A Warp Pad! Warp Pads are teleportation devices created and utilized by Gems, but he hasn't told anyone yet and is going into town to get some supplies before he goes onto the warp pad. He then saw a newspaper headline. Child Slays A Supposed “Gem Mutant” Is the “Human” To Be Trusted? He shrugged it off as he walked through the market, unaware of twelve girls following wherever he went. Then, when he finally turned around, he was bombarded by question upon question, upon question. Flurry was behind the crowd, growling, clearly jealous. Not of his popularity, but… something else. Marcus then waved goodbye. ‘How dare they!’ She thought to herself. “So kid, you want this ukulele? Do you even know how to play it?” a shop owner asked as he had the fabled instrument. Flurry was following him, making sure no one was flirting with him. Why? Beats me, this alicorn was weird. The shop owner handed the ukulele to Marcus. (Skip to 0:22) Flurry let out a squee, until she covered her mouth, worried that he would hear her. Marcus attracted a crowd as they all clapped, he smiled as his gem glowed and projected Rose”s shield. His smile grew as a few mares blew kisses his way, making him blush. This made Flurry furious. The mares that blew kisses at him were tripped over by Flurry’s magic. Marcus tapped her shoulder, startling Flurry Heart. “Hey, did you trip those two?” He asked her. “N-No I didn’t! Your song was great by the way.” She said as she blushed. “Oh thanks. I’ve been practicing my butt off for the past year.” He had a faint blush as she gave him something: A rose. “H-Here!” She exclaimed. He smiled, because his sword, and shield were the color of roses, or had shapes of roses. “Cool. Thank you Flurry.” He booped her nose.
