Princess Luna had never thought that she would be a mother until she fell in love with a Solar Guard. The two of them end up conceiving a foal, but the Guard passes away, leaving Luna to give birth and raise the foal on her own. This causes her to interrupt her plans to retire and Celestia follows suit.

Dusk Glow is raised in Canterlot, much to the annoyance of some of the nobility, but gets to meet a lot of great ponies including the Mane 6. However, a question constantly burns at her mind. Who was her father, and why did she only inherit his mane and eye color.
