Dashing Sideswipeby TheClownPrinceofCrimeChaptersChapter 1: Sideswipe in TownChapter 2: Trouble in the AirChapter 3: The WarningChapter 4: Conflict ArisesChapter 5: The Ultimate LessonChapter 1: Sideswipe in TownAuthor's Note Hey, friends. Your old friend Joker here. Just as I have done with Ratchet, I am doing the same for Sideswipe. He is one of my favorite Autobots of the Bayverse universe (alongside Ratchet and Ironhide). Seeing how he was unfortunately underutilized in Michael Bay’s TF films, I like to give him more spotlight and character development. I hope you guys will enjoy this chapter. P.S. I was feeling a little down earlier, but now I’m feeling much better. You guys are the best, and I appreciate your support and concern. Love you all. Chapter 1: Sideswipe in Town EARLY IN THE MORNING “(Inhales, then exhales) Ahhhh, I do love the smell of awesomeness in the morning!” sighed the rainbow-haired pegasus. She was flying around the hills just outside of Ponyville with a certain companion right below her. “What type of ‘awesomeness’ are you referring to, Dash?” he asked. “You know, just you and me hanging around this early in the morning,” said Rainbow. “The sun is rising, the breeze is blowing, it’s a new day, everything! That’s what’s awesome!” “(Chuckles) Indeed! Heh, I tell you, girl, driving around these big hills remind me of the time I used to race around the buildings on Cybertron!” he exclaimed. “If you ask me, those were the good old days before the war started.” “Yeah, you told me all about it! I can’t even imagine what Cybertron is like! Oh, do they have clouds in your home planet?” Rainbow asked. “Of course! Although, if I can be completely honest, clouds on planet earth are much better-looking.” the being stated. “Really? That’s cool,” said Rainbow Dash. Finally, they stopped before the entrance to Ponyville where they saw everypony exit their doors and yawn after getting a good night rest. As Rainbow landed on the ground and folded her wings, the Corvette Stingray car slowly ceased its motion. Suddenly, the car transformed into a bipedal robot mode. All the metal parts shape-shifted into their respective body parts to form this being. The metal titan stood next to Rainbow and waved his hand at the welcoming residents. “Feeling good, Sideswipe?” Rainbow winked. “Ahhh, yes, I’m good! So happy to take a break from driving for a few hours,” said Sideswipe. “Hmmm, you ponies have something for breakfast, don’t you?” “Yep! I’m gonna go to Sugarcube Corner for some cupcakes. Wanna join me, buddy?” Rainbow asked. “Uhh, Dashie, Cybertronians like me don’t eat anything organic, remember?” Sideswipe reminded. “Oh, yeah! Right...” Rainbow blushed, rubbing the back of her mane. “I guess I’ll see you around after I’m finished with breakfast.” “Very well then. Oh, and maybe later, I can race you to those mountains over there. We both know you can’t beat the fastest thing on wheels!” Sideswipe boasted. “HA! As if! I’ll see you there, Swipey!” Rainbow waved, zooming away. “Man, such a sweet boaster... just like me. Gotta love her, y’know? Anyway, I wonder what her students are doing right now.” Sideswipe thought. He roller-skated to the School of Friendship where he saw several students lining up together. He also noticed a familiar purple alicorn taking note of their attendance. “Good morning, Twilight! You guys are up early this morning!” he greeted. “Good morning, Sideswipe!” Twilight greeted back. “I’m having our students getting ready earlier to be on time for a special occasion: attending a stunt show of the Washouts!” Hearing that name caused the Autobot to raise his metal brow in confusion. “The Washouts? Who are they exactly?” he asked. “They are a group of highly trained and professional pegasi who perform various stunts. You can come and join us if you want.” Twilight offered. “I would love to, Twilight, but I have some things to search and discover within the Everfree Forest,” said Sideswipe. “I know there is more energon around that we can both utilize for our good purposes. But thanks for the offer.” “Oh ok. That’s fine,” said Twilight before turning to her students. “Everyone, say hello to Sideswipe!” “HI, SIDESWIPE!!” all the students happily yelled. The Young Six in particular came near to the Autobot warrior and gazed on him. “Yona like Sideswipe! Sideswipe best Autobot!!” Yona said, pounding on the grass. “I admire your smooth blades, Sideswipe! They look so cool!” Silverstream added. “Can we see them please?” “Can you transform into your vehicle car box thing again, Sideswipe sir?” Ocellus asked. “I just wish that I and the other changelings are like Transformers.” “Hey, there, young ones. I understand your love and admiration for me, but I believe that your Headmare Twilight Sparkle has a trip in mind for you all. Right now is not a good time for you guys to see my features.” Sideswipe reminded. “Awwwwww!!!” the students said, disappointed. “However, if your Headmare permits you, you can see my features and vehicle mode after this... Washouts thing is over. How does that sound for you younglings, hm?” Sideswipe suggested. The students looked at Twilight for approval; once she graciously nodded, they looked at each other before excitedly nodding their heads. Twilight smiled and turned to the students. “Great! Follow me! See you later, Sideswipe!” Sideswipe smiled as Twilight and her students departed from the school premises and went their way. He then wondered around the town while saying hello to those who greeted him. Being friends with those from another world like this one reminded him of the best times he had with the other Autobots and human allies back on earth. “Man, those were the good times,” thought Sideswipe. “I guess that space bridge incident with Sentinel Prime’s remaining pillars wasn’t such a bad accident after all.” LATER ON Rainbow Dash finished her breakfast at Sugarcube Corner. Afterwards, she decided to go to her own fan club where her biggest fan Scootaloo was holding a meeting with the other fans. Once she quietly landed outside, she began to eavesdrop on what was being said inside the fan club as usual. “This ought to be good. I wonder what awesome things they have to say about me this time.” Rainbow whispered to herself. “Order, order, everypony!” the young pegasus spoke, stomping on the podium. All the fans turned their attention on her as she began. “I hereby call to order this meeting of the Rainbow Dash fan club!” Rainbow smirked as she eagerly awaited her words. “The first order of business: let’s celebrate the one and only Rainbow Dash! Yay, she’s amazing; now, if there is nothing else that concludes this meeting of the Rainbow Dash fan club, thank you all for coming! Any questions?” Scootaloo speedily spoke. The fans were all puzzled while thinking if they should ask why this meeting was closing this early or if they should ask if Scootaloo was having any other plans they should know about. “Huh?” Rainbow wondered, confused by the turn of events. She then noticed the filly pushing the fans out of the clubhouse in a rather excited mood. “What’s going on?” she thought. The next thing she spotted was very shocking: Scootaloo took down everything related to Rainbow Dash and hung posters of the so-called Washouts on every wall of the clubhouse. Rainbow gasped in surprise. Chapter 2: Trouble in the AirSomething has gone wrong. We don't seem to have an archived copy of that chapter.Chapter 3: The Warning“Can you believe she actually said that?!” Rainbow said as she walked with her friends in Ponyville. “Yeah, eavesdropping on every meeting is kinda weird,” said Pinkie. Ignoring her random yet true comment, Rainbow continued, “I mean, she basically said that the Wonderbolts aren’t cool! And it kinda sounded like she didn’t think I was cool either! But nahhh!! We all know that’s just crazy. Right? I mean, I’m definitely not worried she might be looking up to somepony else! Hehehehe...” “Not. At. Allllll!!” Rainbow finished, smiling nervously. “Well, ah I understand if you were. It will be like Apple Bloom startin’ to like bananas more than apples! Hehehehehe..” Applejack chuckled before suddenly putting on a serious face. “Y’all tell me if that ever happened, ya hear?” “I just don’t get it! I’m the coolest and fastest pony in Ponyville,” said Rainbow. “What do the Washouts have that I don’t?!” “Well, why don’t you find out!” Pinkie spoke, holding up the Washouts’ invite poster. Rainbow took it and gazed at it in shock. “They’re doing a stunt show in Ponyville this weekend?!” yelled Rainbow. Suddenly, Sideswipe arrived in the town in his car mode. He transformed into robot mode and stood above the ponies. “Rainbow Dash, all of you, you are all in grave danger! A Decepticon named Ratbat is here in the Everfree Forest planning to destroy you all! I have to get you to safety!” he warned. The ponies gasped in fear. “Wait, a Decepticon here?! You mean those horrific ruffians who tried to destroy your old home and your friends?!” Rarity asked. “Affirmative. I don’t know what Ratbat is planning, but I know for sure that his plan won’t be something that will be pleasant obviously.” Sideswipe stated. “Hey there, Sideswipe!” a young voice called out. The Autobot and the ponies turned their heads to see Scootaloo jumping up and down with excitement before running to them. “Great to see you, buddy! I was hoping to find you here!” “It’s nice to see you too, Scootaloo, but I’m afraid we have a huge problem in our hands—or hooves I should say...” began Sideswipe. “Ratbat is here, and he is planning something that will not only endanger Ponyville but also the rest of Equestria. If we don’t find and stop him now, that Decepticon will eliminate us all.” “Wait, a Decepticon here?! Where?!” asked Scootaloo, terrified as she remembered the stories he used to tell them about the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons. “I never imagined those creepy bad aliens coming to our world,” said Fluttershy. Suddenly, she made a confused look on her face as she pondered on something. “Hold on, his name is ‘Ratbat’?” “Yes. Why?” Sideswipe asked. “I’m just wondering...does he look like a bat? Or is he a half-rat and half-bat hybrid?” Fluttershy curiously asked. “A bat to be precise,” replied Sideswipe. “But that’s not important right now. I need to get you all to safety so he won’t harm any of you.” The Mane Six looked at each other before nodding to Sideswipe. “Wherever he is, we will make sure he doesn’t—!” Rainbow said before a commotion interrupted her. “THE WASHOUTS! THEY ARE HERE!! WOOHOO!!” cheered a stallion. The Autobot and the Mane Six looked up and saw three pegasi in Washout uniform soaring across the sky. The other ponies and the Young Six cheered for the Washouts. “Come on! Let’s get to the show!!” a mare cried. The Ponyville residents ran to the stunt show where they will be watching with great excitement. Scootaloo was definitely the most excited as she pranced around and joyfully shook Rainbow Dash. “THEY’RE HERE!! I AM SOOOO EXCITED!!” the filly squealed before looking up to the Autobot. “You see, Sideswipe?! Come, you have to take me there!!” Sideswipe arched an eyebrow. He didn’t forget about the threat that lurked in the Everfree Forest, but it appeared that Scootaloo immediately forgot about it unfortunately. “What if Ratbat is setting up a trap for me and my friends in this... ‘Washouts’ stunt show? He said he knows a pony who will get the job done but who exactly?” he carefully thought. “I don’t know, Scootaloo. I understand your excitement for this special event, but there is a danger lurking in Equestria waiting for a clear moment to strike. Are you sure you want to go to this show?” Sideswipe admonished. “Of course! You are a big guy! With you by our side, that bat dude will fly away from you and us!” Scootaloo replied confidently. Rainbow Dash thought about it until she nodded in agreement as did the other five ponies. “Yeah, you’re right! What would a single metal bat do to many of us especially to a tall Autobot like Swipey here?” Rainbow agreed. “Plus, Sideswipe is a skillful warrior as we have seen him in combat,” added Rarity. “I am sure this Ratbat will be no match for his excellent swordsmanship!” “You ponies have no idea how strong and intelligent he is. Soundwave and Laserbeak can strongly attest to that.” Sideswipe thought. After thinking about this for a moment, he sighed deeply and beheld his friends. “Okay, I’ll take you there, Scootaloo. All of you in fact. But you all must always stay close to me no matter what. It is my duty as an Autobot warrior to keep you safe. Understood?” “Yes, sir!” Scootaloo saluted. Rainbow Dash smiled until she reminded herself about the Washouts. Thinking about what Scootaloo said of them made her smile disappear. “Let’s see how ‘awesome’ they are...” she sourly grumbled. Sideswipe transformed into a Corvette Stingray car and opened its doors to allow the ponies to enter. Once they got inside, he closed the doors and drove off to the stunt show. Unbeknownst to them, Ratbat spied on them from on top of Sugarcube Corner while being invisible. “The Autobot fool and his Equestrian friends are clueless of our plan. Is everything ready, Lightning Dust?” he said through comlink. “Oh yes, boss. Time for payback.” the light green pony said. She put her helmet on and launched into the sky. Chapter 4: Conflict ArisesSideswipe drove his friends to the stunt show that had been set up where all the rest of the Ponyville residents and students from the School of Friendship were seated on the bleachers. After he opened his doors, the Mane Six and Scootaloo exited and started to look for available spots on the bleachers. The Autobot remained in vehicle mode. Sideswipe noticed all the equipment constructed and obstacles all over the area. “Hmmm, those things look very similar to the ones I have seen on earth,” he recalled. “The Wreckers always had a thing for stunts and racing. These ponies do relate to humans in so many ways, do they?” As Scootaloo and the Mane Six began to sit in the last available spots in the midst of the anxious crowd, sounds of microphones were heard. “Fillies and gentlecolts, you are all in for a BIG surprise! For this is the time, and this is the place! This is THE WASHOUTS!!!!” the speaker proclaimed. As the crowd wildly cheered, green smoke started to spread around the area. Out of it came the new team of the Washouts. The crowd once again cheered for them even more wildly than before. Scootaloo herself was likewise extremely enthusiastic as she had been waiting to see them with her own eyes for a while. However, Rainbow Dash sulked in her jealousy and rolled her eyes at the Washouts. The latter then flew in the air and began to high five the crowd while flying right across them. Suddenly, the cannons fired confetti and fireworks which caused the ponies to cheer more. “Wow. These ponies really are like humans,” thought Sideswipe as he observed what happened so far. “Wait... something is not right. Are they really heading for those deadly objects?” “Remember, folks, these bold Washouts are highly trained professionals! Do NOT try this at home...” the speaker shouted. “...unless you want to try it for yourselves and be finished with it.” he whispered. Sideswipe heard the last part as his audio receptors picked it up. “Huh? Why does that voice sound so familiar?” he asked himself until something struck his side. “Ow! Did something hit me?” One of the Washouts flew right through electrified rings without any harm, and the other one flew right through the fire unscathed by the flames. Seeing the flawless maneuver made Rainbow Dash open her jaw wide in shock. “Whoa,” said Rainbow, genuinely amazed. “That pegasus will give Roadbuster a run for his money. Very impressive.” Sideswipe complemented. A third one was launched by a cannon to midair until the Washout flew around and dived toward the spinning spikes. The fearless pegasus dodged every spike and made it out unscathed as well. Seeing them put themselves in dangerous positions made Rainbow even more worried. At the very end, the Washouts finished their stunts before the audience applauded them for their daring performance. “Wow... that... was... AWESOME!” Rainbow unintentionally said. “See? I told you!” Scootaloo said, smiling smugly. “I mean—(clears throat) it was okay I guess.” Rainbow clarified, seeing herself being swayed by the Washouts. “I gotta say... it was really cool. Not bad. Not bad at all.” Sideswipe stated. “We’re glad you enjoyed it, Sideswipe!” Twilight smiled. “Hey look! They are getting everypony’s autograph now! I think it’s good opportunity for Scootaloo to talk to them!” Pinkie pointed. The filly got suddenly nervous. “Talk to them?! I can’t just do that!” Scootaloo nervously objected. As Rainbow thought about it, she grinned. “Say you know what? I think it will be great. Come on, squirt, with me beside you, you have no reason to be nervous. Come!” She picked her up and flew over to the Washouts. Suddenly, one of them flew down before Rainbow and Scootaloo. She took her helmet off and revealed herself to them. “Lightning Dust! It’s you!” Rainbow angrily recognized. “Well, well, Rainbow Dash, it’s been a long time hasn’t it?” Lightning asked. “What are you doing here?” Rainbow demanded. “Oh, I’m just living a new life with these two ex-Wonderbolts by my side. You know... friends who actually support me in what I do... unlike you.” Lightning glared. “I heard about you! You were the one who raced with Rainbow Dash in Wonderbolt Academy! You’re her rival!” Scootaloo said, recognizing her as well. “Well, looks like you told this filly about me, huh?” smirked Lightning Dust. “You appeared to enjoy our show. I can tell you want to be a part of something... better.” “Yes, I really did. I mean, you guys...WERE AWESOME!!” Scootaloo shouted. Rainbow glared at her for that. “Wait, how do you guys know what I want?” “Well, I’ve heard much about you, young filly,” said another voice. The ponies looked back and saw a grayish stallion with a white shirt, black blazer, and dark purple mane. “I am Hoofbreaker, leader of the Washouts. A lot of folks have been talking about you, miss. I know you lack the ability to fly, but I think you can still be something better in being more than that.” “Really?! Does that mean I can be part of the Washouts?!” Scootaloo excitedly asked. “Umm, NO THANK YOU! Besides, she’s better off with us Wonderbolts!” Rainbow objected. “Wonderbolts are boring! I want to do something much more awesome than anything that has to do with flying. Also, he wasn’t asking YOU!” Scootaloo snapped. Rainbow was taken back at her words. “Then a Washout you shall be.” Hoofbreaker smirked. “Your friend over here surely wants you to be successful in what you do best, yes?” “I—wha—of course I do, but nothing like this! She can get herself hurt! Come, Scootaloo, we’re leaving!” Rainbow grabbed the filly to fly away, but the latter pushed Rainbow away. “Stop looking after me!” Scootaloo chided. “I can take care of myself! I really want to be part of the Washouts!!” “But Scootaloo, these guys have no regard for safety! It’s one of the reasons why Lightning was kicked out of the Wonderbolts!” Rainbow argued. Ignoring her, Scootaloo turned to Hoofbreaker and Lightning. “I am more than willing to join you guys. I want to become awesome like you!” “Scootaloo, no!!” Rainbow cried. “Scootaloo, yes!” Hoofbreaker smiled. He gave her a Washouts helmet. After gazing at it, she put her new helmet on. “Welcome, newbie. Prepare yourself... for this...” he menacingly spoke. Sideswipe then recognized his real voice and transformed to robot mode. “SCOOTALOO! RAINBOW! WATCH OUT!” he alerted. Hoofbreaker transformed into the Decepticon Ratbat and activated the helmet. It turned into a cage that entrapped Scootaloo. “WHAT’S HAPPENING?! HELP!! HELP!!” she cried. “Hahahahahahahaha!! Like a mouse in a trap! Take her away, Lightning Dust.” Ratbat ordered. “With pleasure!” Lightning evilly grinned. She and her two comrades carried her cage and flew off to the forest while Scootaloo screamed in terror. “LET HER GO, DECEPTI-CREEP!” Sideswipe demanded, drawing his blasters out. Ratbat shot electrical pulses from his wings at the Autobot that immobilized him. “SIDESWIPE!” the Mane Five cried. As they ran to him, Ratbat also immobilized them with his electric pulses. “You see, Autobot? This is what happens when younglings like you are cocky and stupid enough to follow their own ways. Hehe, don’t worry though. I won’t hurt her... much.” Ratbat taunted. The ponies ran for their lives as they were terrified of the Decepticon. “NOO!!” Rainbow screamed. She attempted to punch the alien bat, but the latter easily swatted her with his right wing, injuring her. “Good thing I disabled your sensors so you wouldn’t pick up my energy signatures. Time to fly, Sideswipe. Hahahahaha!!!” Ratbat spoke, flying away to finish his plan. Sideswipe grunted in pain as he beheld his adversary fly off. “No...” Chapter 5: The Ultimate Lesson“Let me go! Please! Let me go!” Scootaloo begged. “Scream all you want, fleshbag. Because the fun is just about to begin!” Ratbat gleefully taunted. Ratbat and his accomplices took Scootaloo all the way behind the Everfree Forest just before the edges of a cliff. After they set her down, the Decepticon hovered over her cage while grinning sadistically. “What are you gonna do to me?” the filly asked, scared. “Oh, don’t worry, little filly. Your Autobot friend will participate in this fun game too.” Ratbat smirked. “Game? What game? What are you talking about?!” Scootaloo demanded, shaking the bars. “Alright, boss, we have the kid. So are we gonna kill her? You also promised to reward us as part of the deal.” Lightning reminded. Ratbat then slowly turned his head around like an owl. Facing the ex-Wonderbolt with bright red optics, he grew a wide smile that reached to his very pointy ears. That made the Washouts go backwards a little. “Umm, sir, why are you looking at us like that? You’re creeping me out!” one of her comrades said. “Your reward, you ask? Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten. This is your reward... your ETERNAL reward!!!” Ratbat happily shrieked. He grabbed Lighting Dust by her ear, and immediately electrocuted her. “AHHHHHHH!!!” Lightning Dust screamed, the electricity coursing through her body. Then he activated her helmet she carried which transformed into her own cage. Ratbat put her cage next to Scootaloo’s. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! We had a deal!!” Lightning angrily yelled. “Perhaps you’ve never heard of the term ‘Decepticon’ before, Lightning. Never make a deal with someone who will stab you in the back! Hahahahaha!!” Ratbat evilly laughed. “I can’t believe this! You said I will get my revenge on Rainbow Dash! You made us become the Washouts! This was your plan the whole time?!” Lightning chided. Ratbat then glared at the loud-mouthed pegasus. “Of course, you fool! I made you the Washouts so that I can trigger Rainbow Dash’s ego once she sees your performance in order to get to her little friend. Besides, I have studied you three and all the equines and creatures of this mudball of a planet; I know your strengths and weaknesses. Yours, this filly’s, and Rainbow’s weaknesses were amongst the easiest to study.” “And now that I have you in my trap, I can bring a challenge to the Autobot Sideswipe,” said Ratbat. “I will enjoy seeing his agony in making a choice.” “What choice?” Scootaloo asked. “You will see.” Ratbat wickedly smiled. Once he turned to see Lightning’s friends, they were already gone. “Hehehe, cowards...that’s good.” IN PONYVILLE The immobilization wore off before Sideswipe and his friends got on their feet/hooves. “This is all my fault... I should’ve been more careful with Scootaloo,” said Rainbow, tears falling from her eyes. “Why couldn’t I just—?” “Rainbow, it’s not your fault. Do not blame yourself for this. Scootaloo was infatuated with the Washouts without realizing this was a trap set up by Ratbat. (Sigh)... That reminds me of the time I was much like Scootaloo.” Sideswipe recalled. That caught the Mane Six’s attention. “Wait, really? You mean, you were reckless and stubborn?” Rainbow asked. Sideswipe nodded. “It all went back to the years in which I was under Ironhide’s tutelage. I kept disobeying orders from him and Optimus Prime, headstrong in my ways, and always wanted to fight solo. One day, I was chasing after a Constructicon named Demolisher who was terrorizing the humans. Ironhide warned me not to engage him alone, but I outright refused.” “I even told him straight to his face, ‘Stay out of this!’ Those words still sting me with guilt to this day; it’s so painful that I wish I never disrespected him like that. After a backup team helped scare Demolisher away and the humans mistrusted me for my violent behavior, that’s when I realized how foolish I was. I learned the error of my ways, and vowed to never fight solo again.” Sideswipe finished. The Mane Six felt sympathy for their titan friend as he shared with them his experience. “Wow, I’m sorry, buddy. But at least you learned your lesson, huh?” Rainbow said, lightly elbowing Sideswipe’s arm. “Yep. So I need to tell you that neither you nor Scootaloo nor anyone else should make those same mistakes I made. Humility is key for teamwork and happiness. If we focus on ourselves and pet our ego, it will lead us to a path we should not walk in. Pride always leads us to destruction.” Sideswipe lectured. “It’s all a part of growth and maturity.” Suddenly, two Washouts emerged from the forest and ran to Sideswipe. “Hey, big guy! We need your help!” “What do you want?” Sideswipe demanded, getting in battle stance. “Where’s Scootaloo?!” “Easy! Easy! She’s in the Everfree Forest right near a cliff! Ratbat double-crossed us and is now holding Lightning Dust hostage! You have to save her too!” one of them pleaded. “Really? She should’ve been more careful than strike a deal with a Decepticon!” Rainbow glared. “I thought you wanted to hurt Scootaloo!” “Please! There’s no time! Lightning is our friend! If you don’t do something, he will kill her! Please!” they begged. Sideswipe and Rainbow looked at each other before they nodded. Sideswipe turned to Twilight. “Twilight, I need to ask you something.” Sideswipe spoke. “Yes?” Twilight asked. “It’s about a specific spell you, Celestia, and Luna recently did together...” IN THE FOREST “Any minute now, Autobot,” said Ratbat, being impatient. Moments later, Sideswipe arrived in his alt mode. Rainbow Dash exited the vehicle before he transformed into robot mode. The duo glared at Ratbat as they drew close to them. “Release them now, Ratbat! You’re outnumbered!” Rainbow Dash ordered. “Oh, I’m not looking for a fight but rather a challenge of my liking,” Ratbat smirked. He lifted the two cages with his feet and hovered them over the cliff. “You have a choice, Autobot. You either save the filly who spat at Rainbow’s face, or her arch rival.” “Let me go, you freak!” Lightning said, aggressively kicking at the bars. “No! Stop! Rainbow, Sideswipe, help me!!” Scootaloo cried. Ratbat then sent electric pulses at Rainbow Dash, immobilizing her. “NOOO!! No fair!!” “You can’t do that! This is between—!” “SILENCE, AUTOBOT!! As a protector of the innocent, you must choose! You cannot save both! NOW DECIDE!!” Ratbat shouted, throwing their cages in the air. Lightning and Scootaloo screamed in terror as they were about to fall to their deaths. Then suddenly, their cages began beeping with a timer attached to them. “Ten seconds? What is that supposed to mean?” Scootaloo asked. Sideswipe jumped below and shot two grapples toward their cages. They pulled them in and grabbed their cages. Still falling from a great height, he ripped the bars open and pulled the two ponies out of there. Then he transformed to car mode with them inside and drove as fast as he could once he landed on the grass. The cages exploded. “GRAPPLES?! SINCE WHEN DID HE HAVE THOSE?!” Ratbat cried. Then he faced Rainbow trying to move. “Well, at least I’ll take her out.” Ratbat loaded his mini guns and aimed at Rainbow’s head. “Any last words, Rainbow Dash?” Rainbow then grinned. “Yes... fried bat.” “What? AHHH!!” Ratbat yelped in pain from the blast he got from the Autobot. He saw him get back up from the cliff while setting Lightning and Scootaloo behind a tree. “It’s over for you, ‘Con.” Sideswipe glared. “Not really!” Ratbat yelled, blasting more electric pulses from his wings. This time, Sideswipe shot an invisible beam that halted the pulses. “WHAT IS THIS?!?” “Time out for you, Decepticon punk.” Sideswipe smiled. The pulses instead shot back at Ratbat and immobilized him. “NOOOOO!!!” he screamed. He was electrocuted and fell back down unconscious. “A reverse spell from the princesses. Glad Twilight shared it.” the Autobot grinned. “Are you two okay?” Rainbow asked. “We’re fine,” replied Scootaloo. “Sideswipe, I never thought of saying this but... t-thank you... for saving my life,” thanked Lightning although begrudgingly. Then she faced Rainbow, “I guess I’m sorry for the trouble I caused. I had no idea Ratbat was using me.” “Don’t apologize to me. Apologize to her.” Rainbow pointed. Scootaloo slightly glared at Lightning once the latter turned to her. “(Sigh) Okay, kid, look, I am... s-s-sorry for... putting you in danger.” Scootaloo then smiled. “It’s all good. Ratbat was just using you to get to me, but don’t think I’ll be watching you guys again since this was all a setup.” “Exactly. Your show is over, Lightning... permanently. Shut it down.” Sideswipe ordered. “Ughhh, fine! And Rainbow Dash, we’re still rivals after this. Nothing in life will make that change. Except I won’t make a deal with anypony ever again. I hate being backstabbed.” Lightning said. “Hey, rivals for life, right?” Rainbow asked. “My thoughts exactly.” Lightning grinned. Then she flew off. “I’m so sorry, Rainbow Dash. I should’ve listened to you. If I hadn’t been so carried away with the Washouts and so stubborn about it, I wouldn’t have been in danger.” Scootaloo apologized. “Hey, don’t sweat it, kid. We’re all good. Sideswipe had to learn that same lesson right, buddy?” Rainbow said, facing the Autobot. “Really?” Scootaloo wondered. “Indeed. I was once like you... both of you actually. Stubbornness and pride had always affected me and my relationship with my former mentor Ironhide. If it weren’t for his instruction and the experience of humility and maturity, I would still be a hot-headed bot to this day. Always remember, Scootaloo, once you’re humble and obedient to those who care about you and look after you, safety and peace will always be beside you.” Sideswipe lectured. “Don’t ever forget that.” “Thanks, Sideswipe. I needed to hear that today.” Scootaloo smiled. Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo hugged Sideswipe’s hand. Then he transformed and drove them back home in Ponyville. Author's Note Thanks again for reading this story. Sideswipe was a pleasure writing in this story. I hope you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for my next blog where I will announce the next list of stories that will be released soon. Be safe, folks!
Chapter 1: Sideswipe in TownAuthor's Note Hey, friends.

Chapter 3: The Warning“Can you believe she actually said that?!” Rainbow said as she walked with her friends in Ponyville.
“No...”
Chapter 5: The Ultimate Lesson“Let me go!
